Sprint HTC Hero :: Deleting Emails From Certain Folders - Mark All Option?
Nov 9, 2009I'm assuming this is the easiest thing in the world. I just can't figure it out. I have 2 POP email accounts and I'm looking to delete several messages without having to click on the X next to each one. How can I delete ALL the emails in a certain folder (inbox, trash, sent, etc...)

Sep 9, 2010I am wanting to know how once I have read an email on my GMail app, for the email to be marked as read on the GMail server.What currently happens is whatever emails I read on my phone, are only marked as read on my phone instead of on GMail itself, so when I open up Thunderbird (or GMail on the web), I get a load of emails what are 'new', when infact I have read them on my phone!

Aug 23, 2010He's set up his gmail and work mail on the phone just fine, but his hotmail is playing silly buggers. The gmail is through that app, the work and hotmail through the desire mail app.
Anyway - he cannot get any hotmail emails into the inbox. When you first set up the account, he gets two 'welcome' mails - the kind you get when you set up the mail account online, welcoming you to your inbox. No other emails ever come through.
However - he can send from it. And it appears in his outbox online.
I looked in the syncing sections and under the exchange active sync - which works for his work - there is no hotmail. Except somehow it must sync somehow as it's sending his hotmail fine...
Motorola Droid X :: Hotmail Account / Importing Old Emails As New
Sep 9, 2010On my Droid X I can add my hotmail account just fine but it starts importing all of my emails saying they're all new. It acts like as if because all of the emails are new to it then it thinks they're new and labels them new so if I have 100 emails that are in my hotmail account none of which are new. I get 100 notifications on my phone as it imports the emails in saying "new" email.

Mar 18, 2010I know this is posted all over android forums, but I just wanted to see if there is a solution yet. I get 30-40 emails a day in my gmail account (the only account I use). I typically check them on a PC, but if I am out of the office, I will check them on my Sprint HTC Hero. If I have read the email on my PC, there is no reason for me to open it on my phone except to update the notifications as to how many emails I have left.It would be nice to keep my notifications up-to-date as to how many unread emails i have. So when my phone shows that I have, say, 30 new emails, is there a way to go into the basic mail application, select all emails, and mark them as read? Or do I have to do it one by one. Or is there an app on the market that has better functionality for email and I can ditch the standard one.

Feb 18, 2010Is there a way to mark text messages as read right from the notification bar? I hate when someone responds with something short enough that I can read it right from the bar. Then the only way that it will not show up as a new message on the message icon or be bold in the list, I have to click on it, open the message app, and then back out of it. Not that big of a PITA just kind of annoying when I already know the full message.

Jan 30, 2010is the earpiece speaker (the normal phone on your ear speaker) sounds like it is blown but i think its something in the phone rattling. I contacted htc about this and they said i have to send the phone to NY to get it fixed and at least a weeks wait. Thats crap turnaround for a phone. I keep the volume 1 click above half and it buzzes. Its only a few weeks old. They said they never heard about the speaker crackle/vibration when i talked to them...
I can hear the same/very similar sound if i tap the top of my phone with my finger (near the camera) with my phone off to my ear. Its the same with the batt door off, the battery out, the sd card out, holding the sd card down/in, and holding the camera clear shield down.
#2 is i have hotmail working on my phone but occasionally when i send emails with reply all it sends complete jibberish like this,...................

Nov 20, 2009I've had my Hero for a month or so and have it setup to recieve mail from my hotmail account.All works good but then every week or 2 it stops recieving email and I have to delete the account on the phone and add it again not the end of the world but rather annoying.

Jan 27, 2010Basically I'm not a great techno lad, although I wish I was - I'm trying to arrange so that I can view my hotmail on my phone? I'm guessing it has something to do with the screen with the sort of blank white canvas with two tabs underneath it - a pencil & 3 horizontal lines?! When you press on it it brings up the screen 'Choose a mail provider' with two options of 'Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync & Other (POP3/IMAP). Both options have thwarted my attempts and to be honest I've no real idea what I am doing. I've synced the phone with my outlook CALENDAR at work, but not the emails - again no idea how to do that! I have set my phone gmail up fine, but a blindfolded crippled donkey could do that.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Getting Notification - Hotmail Can Not Send A Message
Apr 5, 2010I haven't had a problem with my email accounts from the time I got my Hero almost two months ago until yesterday. It is a hotmail account and as of yesterday I'm getting a notification that hotmail can not send a message. I rarely use hotmail to send messages, only to receive messages 90% of the time. I'm not sure what could have happened but its kinda bugging me.

Jan 16, 2010Is anyone else having issues with Hotmail at the moment? I can't get my phone to sync with my hotmail account all of a sudden, and I have literally done nothing to it since I got hotmail emails this morning. I looked on my account on my laptop and had 4 messages from various times throughout the day, and refreshing the mail didn't fix anything. I sent myself a test email and didn't receive it, so I don't know what the deal is.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll fix itself, but if someone else is having this problem I'd love to know if you've been able to fix it or not.
Edit: Soft reset didn't work, haven't tried hard reset because I have no idea why it would work when Gmail is working fine, phone is not rooted

HTC Hero :: Emails And MMS Cannot Be Sent
Jan 5, 2010I go to messages then compose a message and choose to send it to someones email address. But they never receive the message. When I go to the message, by it is a box with 3 horizontal lines on, and at the top right of this is a clock. I turned off WiFi and tried resending them. This time it sent the MMS messages to the email addresses. Still no luck sending MMS messages over WiFi though.

Oct 28, 2009i have 3 accounts set up on the phone, blueyonder(virgin media) hotmail and gmail. I use my blueyonder account for my job and it is important that emails reach me in a timely manner, i have come from a blackberry so no probs there. The porblem i am having is the dont always come through straight away, i have the phone set to check server every 5 mins, yesterday evening at 18.00 i received 9 mails all at once which had been sent from 14.00 onwards in the afternoon. I have also have had it when emails have come through a day late. Does anyone get the same problems, is this a phone problem or a virgin media problem, i suppose it could be a connection problem but i have wifi at my home and this was on from when i got home.
