HTC Hero :: Can Receive Emails But Can't Send - Account Setting Incorrect
Feb 23, 2010I can receive emails on all my different accounts but can't send out any email. It says "Unable to send mail. The account setting is incorrect."

HTC Incredible :: Unable To Send Mail - Account Setting Is Incorrect - Yahoo
Aug 4, 2010Never had problem before, and not sure what happened. Today, I tried to send a phone pic via email, and came up with this error message on Notification Panel:
"Unable to send mail."
"The account setting is incorrect (Yahoo)."
I press on the actual Notification, and it automatically prompts me to change account settings.
Edit Account
myname@yahoo.com
Hit Next.
Incoming Settings
Protocol > IMAP
Email address > myname@yahoo.com
Password > *******
IMAP server > android.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Security type > SSL
Server Port > 993
Above is my current settings, but I did not change anything.
I re-entered my yahoo password to see if that's problem, and now get a warning message saying, "Authentication failed. Please verify username/password" but that's my correct username and password for Yahoo.

Aug 12, 2010I'm having trouble sending emails with my pop email account (cox communications). I receive emails fine. However, I get a message stating "unable to send email." I tried deleting and setting up the account again. It seems to accept the pop/outgoing information. However, I get a message after submitting the SMTP information stating "unable to connect to the mail server, server not responding." Is there another email program I could try?

May 3, 2010I had my Hero set the way I wanted it for the past 5 months, long story short, I ended up resetting the phone and am now try to add my yahoo mail, gmail, and my Exchange mail. When I setup my Exchange mail, I add an icon to my home screen, works fine. Then I bring another mail icon and add it to the homescreen and setup my yahoo mail, all is good, and so forth for my gmail. The way I had it set up before, I could click each Icon and get my mail accordingly in each of the 3 (mail) icons. In fact, before, one of the icons was even labeled "yahoo". NOW when I try to set it up, it wants to give me the same email in all folders. I do not have anything set as my default.

Nov 30, 2009I have configured the standard mail app (I think it is the HTC modified version). I sent an email with an attachment today and it never got sent, it is still in the outbox folder. So as a test just now, I sent myself 2 emails (one with an attachment, one without) and only one of the two went through (the one without attachment).

I don't get any error message but the people I send a picture to never receive it and when someone sends me a picture in a text I never receive it. May 22, 2010I upgraded to 2.1 last night and now i cant send or receive calls. Well my phone does ring when i call out or someone calls but as soon as the call is answered its just dead ... neither end can hear anything.. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening or how i can fix it.. Called sprint and they told me to take it into a service center.. They are saying this is a known issue as of yesterday.

Oct 30, 2009Just got my Hero last night from Best buy with that nice little coupon! Great device so far, except that I cant send SMS at all. I can receive them though. I tried sending with the built in app, as well as HandCent.
When sending with the built in app, I get this error:
Cause Code 97
Error Code 2
I have tried updating firmware, PRI and PRL. Also rebooted the phone. Nothing makes it work. Anyone have ideas what I can do to make this work?

Sep 1, 2010Yesterday I tried to send a couple short videos to a friend, one only 17secs, the other 1min 27 secs, of course he has a Iphone so this made me even more frustrated. First I tried to send them individually via mms, no go. Then I tried to send them in via email, first together then individually, again no good. I kept getting a error message saying that my account setting is incorrect. What is the deal. I've been hyping my DROID to everyone saying that the IFAD is not as good, starting to wonder.

Sep 13, 2010I am having issues with my new Samsung Fascinate. I shouldn't blame the phone as it is probably just the android system. I can not receive emails on either of my accounts without manually going into my phone and hitting "load messages". I have set the emails to check every 5 minutes, but it doesn't notify me or open them until I manually do it. Love the rest of the phone
