When i delete my hotmail emails from my hero, should or shouldn't they delete from my hotmail account when i sign in on my laptop? cos at the moment they do not delete from hotmail when signing in using laptop.

I don't know what i was thinking and I added a pretty spammy email account to my hero. I can't for the life of me figure out how just to delete the whole account so no messages get forwarded.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a Gmail acct when I first got my Hero, but just yesterday I began an internship for a political campaign and they created another Gmail acct for me and they would like me to be able to receive my emails on my phone, they also use Google Calender so all the interns can be aware of the schedule of events. So how do I add this new Gmail acct and Google Calender to my Hero so I can recveive my email and be able to access the calender using the GMAIL App that came preinstalled?

View 5 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that I wasn't getting any new Gmail. After about 12 hours of no syncs I went in and played with settings, turning the sync on-and-off, and it finally synced again.
Well, now it has gone 13 hours without a sync according to the settings, and nothing I do seems to make it want to sync.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am running 2.1, and sync has worked since the upgrade for at least a few days. I have installed no new apps, I did delete one (Engadget reader, so nothing important)
I've gotten our company staff to be able to see and modify eachother's calendars within our google apps accounts. but.. we're having trouble making it so we can see company contacts (ie - customers) would love it if we could get one person to take a call, enter in the contacts info and then assign a tech to the service call and he can see it in his android phone. we've created a generic [company_name]@gmail.com google apps account - one person can connect/login to it (me! of course!haha) but can't get a second person to do the same. do you think google is doing this on purpose? not allowing a second android device to login?

Why is it doing this and is there something in settings that will prevent it from deleting emails from my phone? I've spent what seems like hours going through the email settings menus and cant' find anything. Is there something in the general settings menu? Please help. I'm running the stock HTC mail program.

There has been times when it shows 4 unread emails on the phone (even though everything is read) and when I log into gmail it shows the 4 unread emails even if it was ones I deleted. I've searched the forums and found articles but known that gives me a step by step, I'm no amateur, but the N1 doesn't give me the option except for FB, twitter, and active sync, and Gmail. View 2 Replies View Relatedis the earpiece speaker (the normal phone on your ear speaker) sounds like it is blown but i think its something in the phone rattling. I contacted htc about this and they said i have to send the phone to NY to get it fixed and at least a weeks wait. Thats crap turnaround for a phone. I keep the volume 1 click above half and it buzzes. Its only a few weeks old. They said they never heard about the speaker crackle/vibration when i talked to them...
I can hear the same/very similar sound if i tap the top of my phone with my finger (near the camera) with my phone off to my ear. Its the same with the batt door off, the battery out, the sd card out, holding the sd card down/in, and holding the camera clear shield down.

I've had my Hero for a month or so and have it setup to recieve mail from my hotmail account.All works good but then every week or 2 it stops recieving email and I have to delete the account on the phone and add it again not the end of the world but rather annoying.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the screen with the sort of blank white canvas with two tabs underneath it - a pencil & 3 horizontal lines?! When you press on it it brings up the screen 'Choose a mail provider' with two options of 'Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync & Other (POP3/IMAP). Both options have thwarted my attempts and to be honest I've no real idea what I am doing. I've synced the phone with my outlook CALENDAR at work, but not the emails - again no idea how to do that! I haven't had a problem with my email accounts from the time I got my Hero almost two months ago until yesterday. It is a hotmail account and as of yesterday I'm getting a notification that hotmail can not send a message. I rarely use hotmail to send messages, only to receive messages 90% of the time. I'm not sure what could have happened but its kinda bugging me.

I can't get my phone to sync with my hotmail account all of a sudden, and I have literally done nothing to it since I got hotmail emails this morning. I looked on my account on my laptop and had 4 messages from various times throughout the day, and refreshing the mail didn't fix anything. I sent myself a test email and didn't receive it, so I don't know what the deal is.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll fix itself, but if someone else is having this problem I'd love to know if you've been able to fix it or not.
Edit: Soft reset didn't work, haven't tried hard reset because I have no idea why it would work when Gmail is working fine, phone is not rooted
After struggling with multiple entries from some botched sync jobs from Google Calendar and Gmail Contacts, I'm at the point where I want to delete all entries in the calendar on my HTC Hero and start a fresh sync from Google Calendar.Is there any way (besides factory reset) to do this?My problem is, if anyone has the fix for that, that even if I delete all events on my Google Calendar, after sync the entries are still on my Hero...

I once had a samsung jet which was great but it was on orange and i wanted it on 3 because i recieved a better signal and wanted their push email. But when i put my three sim into my now unlocked Jet i found that i lacked 3's certificates and couldn't tether or get 3's push email.Anyway this made me decide to upgrade to a 3 hero to gain their functions however it seems their are no "certificate" needed and the hero seems to have its own push email service and can tether easily.SO my question is if i debrand my hero and thus can ugrade to 2.1 android will i still recieve free push email and be able to tether? as i guess if i change my rom it might be hard to go back.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwas able to easily set up Hotmail on my Hero, yet is not working perfectly.Here's the issue, when a single email is sync'd onto both the phone and the hotmail website,when i delete the email from the phone, it properly deletes the email from the Hotmail website. But, when an email is first deleted from the website, it will never delete is from the inbox on my phone, even after refreshing.Is this a common issue, do others have this problem.

I went into settings and changed mail to download from 3 days to all. So far so good.
But from time to time I get "new mail" but these are mails that have been sitting in my inbox for a few weeks (on the phone I mean)
How come? or is there another alternative? An app that links to hotmail (really link and not donload the mial to phone) and even refreshes at specific times to alert you if you have new mail?
I connect to my works Exchange server using EAS (I think, it was the default) and it syncs with my mail automagically as stuff comes in. I'd really like to find a way to automatically delete stuff on the Hero as I delete stuff on the exchange server. Is there a way to do this without involving another program?
