On the HTC HERO handsend there is a setting for LED. I picked a different color to blink when I get a message but the green default light still blinks. If u look on the ear piece of the phone it looks like there is another light on the right of it. Do anyone know anything about changing the settings for this?

Isn't there any method to flash and replace the emoticons using a zip file. To my surprise I found no dedicated thread which details something like this.

I wonder if it is ok to leave the phone charging after the green light appeared. I usually leave it charging for a night. May it make my battery life shorter?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn the Nexus One (at least in 2.1-update1, and I think in 2.1), there is a setting under Sound & Display: "Pulse notification light". This doesn't seem to be present on the "2.1 with Google APIs" emulator image. I've not yet checked any other devices. I want to set this programmatically without user interaction, in order to make a Locale plugin, so the device can grab my attention when I'm awake at my desk, without having it floodlighting the room when someone spams me at 4am. It's quite bright.
I didn't see it in android.provider.Settings.System where many other things on this screen live, so I had a look in the platform source. There are some relevant parts in NotificationManagerService, in enqueueNotificationWithTag and updateLightsLocked. That goes off into HardwareService which seems well past the point of caring about user settings. I've no idea where this setting is implemented or how I might influence it. I fully expect the answer to be "there is no API for this" (perhaps related to it being Nexus One specific), and that the best I can do is to schedule (using Locale or something else) an Intent of ACTION_DISPLAY_SETTINGS to remind me to set the box manually, which would suck. I'm hoping that I've missed something, or that a Googler is reading this and can tell me that this is planned for addition to the API?
I am not too sure why this is happened. But none of my keypad buttons light up.
Anyone know about any settings I might have fiddled with?
I'm really new to the phone and i was just wondering if its possible to change the green color that is used for basically everything. New notifications, the texting, flashing when you have something new etc, can that color be changed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using the facebook app and clicked a youtube video link and decided to make youtube the default app to launch for this specific action. However, I later decided that I want it to launch the link in a browser (so I can read comments) instead of playing instantly after clicking the link.
I tried "Clear defaults" under settings>applications>manage applications but there is no settings for youtube. I tried to clear defaults for facebook and my browser, and tried reinstalling the facebook app but no luck.
Does anyone know how long your led light notification blinks for missed calls and text messages etc.I thought is was to blink until you checked the missed call or message.Mine is going off after 5 to 8 minutes without going into the phone and checking the missed call or text.Is this normal?

If I don't clear my notifications of the new text(s) right away, the blinking light kills my battery. I do want to keep the notification on my drop down bar, I just want the blinking light to stop. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a ListView in my app that has a background image. All of the rows are a semi transparent white (#35FFFFFF). Whenever I scroll the list, the rows turn a light green that obscures the background image until I stop scrolling (usually--sort of unpredictable). Sometimes it flickers between the background image/color and the green. And yes, I have set the cache color hint to #00000000. Any advice about this would be appreciated.

This just started happening lately. Every time I set my screen timeout to anything other than the default 30 seconds, it will just change itself back in a couple of minutes. I can't think of any apps I've installed recently that could possibly be causing this. Any ideas on how to fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to remove my sim card, which means that I had to remove my battery. After doing so, I put my sim card back in, followed by the battery, and after pushing the power button, the battery indicator started flashing green and orange.
The screen isn't turning on, and absolutely nothing is happening.
I've been pouring over google trying to find a solution, but haven't found any that worked.
One suggestion suggested that I hold the power button for 10-15 seconds, then plug it into power, then add battery. This did not work.
Another suggested the opposite- hold power for 10-15 seconds, add battery, then add power cord, still no luck.
I freaking love this phone. I really, really, really want to fix it. If there are any, ANY suggestions as to what I could do to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. I tried to call HTC for support, but, wouldn't you know it, couldn't get to a phone before EXACTLY one minute before they closed.
