I find this extremely annoying that at night when I am using the scroll ball that the thing keeps lighting up, and then shutting off, lighting up..etc.
Is there a way or an app that shuts off the lights to the hardbuttons/trackball?
This is especially necessary in the day time when i can see the buttons, i don't need them illuminated.
When I owned a palm, there was a program call KBlights... shut of the keyboard, hardbutton lights.
has anyone else updated and sees there trackall and button lights staying on AS LONG AS SCREEN IS ON? i cannot turn this off and its annoying during video playback

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn the HTC HERO handsend there is a setting for LED. I picked a different color to blink when I get a message but the green default light still blinks. If u look on the ear piece of the phone it looks like there is another light on the right of it. Do anyone know anything about changing the settings for this?

View 11 Replies View RelatedThis seems to be an issue that I may have just noticed. Sometimes when I turn on my phone the touch sensitive buttons do not light up. They may eventually light up but it would take a while. Also sometimes they light up immediately with no problem. Is anyone else having this same issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI watch quite a few .mp4's on my Desire, and I'll really like to turn off the the backlight behind the physical buttons if possible, not so much to aid battery life but for the factor they are a bit annoying if you're watching something in the dark. Is this possible? My device isn't rooted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been loving my new X and have experienced zero issues with it until tonight. I noticed that there's light leakage around the volume buttons, where the top and bottom components connect. As I trace around the edges, everywhere seems to fine except at that one connection point. Now I'm really concerned that my phone has a physical defect and may need to be exchanged. Has anyone else noticed this? Should I be concerned and get an exchange? I'm really bummed that my phone may have a problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a samsung galaxy proclaim. All i want is an app that can make the 4 soft touch buttons on the bottom of the phone be light up whenever the screen is lit up. The phone is for my dad, who cant see the best, and he can never see the buttons when they are not lit. I am very tech inclined and have rooted my thunderbolt and modded the hell out of it and flashed roms all the time last year. I really can not find anything out there app wise, and there is not other option other than holding your finger over the light sensor on the front of the phone.
The phone is not rooted, but i could root it if that is necessary. would rather not as i see it presenting new possibilities for problems for a VERY beginner user just learning what texting means.
On the Nexus One (at least in 2.1-update1, and I think in 2.1), there is a setting under Sound & Display: "Pulse notification light". This doesn't seem to be present on the "2.1 with Google APIs" emulator image. I've not yet checked any other devices. I want to set this programmatically without user interaction, in order to make a Locale plugin, so the device can grab my attention when I'm awake at my desk, without having it floodlighting the room when someone spams me at 4am. It's quite bright.
I didn't see it in android.provider.Settings.System where many other things on this screen live, so I had a look in the platform source. There are some relevant parts in NotificationManagerService, in enqueueNotificationWithTag and updateLightsLocked. That goes off into HardwareService which seems well past the point of caring about user settings. I've no idea where this setting is implemented or how I might influence it. I fully expect the answer to be "there is no API for this" (perhaps related to it being Nexus One specific), and that the best I can do is to schedule (using Locale or something else) an Intent of ACTION_DISPLAY_SETTINGS to remind me to set the box manually, which would suck. I'm hoping that I've missed something, or that a Googler is reading this and can tell me that this is planned for addition to the API?
I am trying to figure out how to set priorities on imagebutton.I want to have a layout with a bunch of Icon or buttons that can be selected either by touch, radio, or checked box. As these images are selected they are set on queue to be displayed in order of Precedence.(that is to be pre-determined). The images are displayed once the main action button is touched.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have applied the follwoing selector to all my buttons by specifying it in my theme:
CODE:...............
This works fine. But I want the background of the button to remain "@drawable/my_btn_pressed" when the button is pressed, as if to highlight that this was the last button pressed. Hence, I added the code in my onClick() to set the background resource:
CODE:.............
This also works to highlight the last pressed button with "my_btn_pressed". However after this, my selector properties do not seem to work on the other buttons. Mainly, the state focussed is not distinguishable, at all.
How I can do both, i.e distinguish focussed, pressed and normal states of the button, as well as highlight the last pressed button?
In my app I bring up a context menu on long click in a ListActivity. One of the options "Priority" pops up an AlertDialog with 3 radio button choices. The problem is, it displays an empty dialog box without my 3 choices, or the message that I set. Here is my code...
If I replace the .setSingleChoiceItems with a positive and negative button instead, it displays the buttons and the message as expected. What am I doing wrong in setting up my list of radio buttons? Here is my calling code as well...
I've installed MyBackUp Pro, but when I try and run it it asks me to enter the google order number, which I have. However, selecting the text field doesn't open the keypad, and I can't find a way of manually opening it, so I can't enter the number. Any suggestions? The alternative of looking up the details is no use as my name or postcode wasn't on the order.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe HTC Hero is my first experience with a virtual keyboard. It takes some getting used to but I have adapted rather quickly - to the point that I actually like it better. The self-correcting feature is great. It catches nearly all my mistakes and fixes them on the fly.
However - I don't know if I've gotten better or my phone has gotten slower - but it seems to lag behind my typing now. I discovered that if I turn off the vibrate feedback feature that it speeds up considerably. I would think that anybody who gets really fast at typing on their Hero is eventually going to have to turn that off.
I've just received a text message with a little android smilies!! I cant see these on my keypad though, like on a SonyE for instance... Any ideas where they can be accessed?

View 26 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for over 2 weeks and just recently noticed that the top of the silver keypad area at the bottom of the phone is slightly raised from the level of the glass. I don't remember it being that way but maybe I just didn't notice it until now. For some reason I thought it was flush (even) with the glass before. When I run my finger over it and onto the glass I can tell it (the silver keyboard area) is slightly raised.
