This just started happening lately. Every time I set my screen timeout to anything other than the default 30 seconds, it will just change itself back in a couple of minutes. I can't think of any apps I've installed recently that could possibly be causing this. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have my Screen Timeout setting set to 2 mins. Menu>Settings>Sound&Display>Screen Timeout. but it keeps reverting back to the default 30 secs. Any ideas on how to keep it set at 2 mins?

I have to reselect 30 seconds, etc. I can't seem to find a pattern of situation leading up to it. Started on 2.01 and continued after 2.1 upgrade. Never rooted.

Since yesterday my screen timeout it's not working correctly. Whatever I set it to, usually 30 seconds, whenever I go back to my home screen and back into the settings it is changing itself back to 10 minutes.
I've tried disabling tasker, lux and widgetlocker but I cannot get the timeout to stick on 30 seconds.
My Hero's screen won't time out anymore. It worked fine until today. I have the screen timeout setting set to 30 seconds and it just dims and stays dimmed without actually locking it completely. What other setting do I need to adjust?

Using Dialer One, or Phone. And it gives me the option to "Use by default for this action".So, lets say I want to use Dialer One by default, but then I change my mind. How do I set it back to the default Phone.Obviously, this question applies to more than just the phone app. After writing all that I think the simple way to ask my question is- I really just want to know how to undo the 'use by default for this action' choices I may make in the future.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my screen timeout - nomatter what I set it to, it soon afterwards resets back to 30 seconds. I've tried 2 minutes, 10 minutes etc. and it might work immediately, but not long afterwards it gets reset.
The only thing I had running that I thought might possibly affect it was timeriffic, but I've deactivated that now and its still happening.
And yes, I know that apps like screenmodewidget and Screebl can be used to work around the problem, but I'd rather fix it!
Just setting up the display profiles on my phone....does anyone know how to change the screen time out for different scenes.....eg when I'm using my phone normally I want the display to timeout and lock etc, but when the phone is on charge at work or in the car I never want it to timeout.
Changing the timeout setting seems to apply for all profiles.
I have a UK 3 Hero and am running Screebl. I set the screen timeout for a minute but it keeps reverting back to 15 secs. I am changing the time in the phone's settings and Screebl's, but it keeps changing back.

If you are in a call that you need to hit numbers, then you have to hit the power button, then swipe, then get to your keypad. Is there a way of preventing the screen from timing out while in a call? When I press the search button on my home screen and search for anything, it opens the default browser and searches, and not Dolphin. How do I change this? Thought it would ask for which app it needed to execute the order with, as it did at other places it would go online, but not here. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. View 4 Replies View RelatedThe problem - when viewing a webpage such as craigslist, if I click into an ad and then go back to the previous page my location on the previous page always defaults close to the top of the page instead of that last link I clicked. This is a very annoying problem if your a hardcore craigslist junkie like me because you can be you have to scroll back thru all of the ads you looked at just to get back to where you originally were.
Trying to fix the problem using two kinds of soft resets, a hard reset, resets followed by reinstallations of 2.1 ,etc etc, I finally went to a sprint store to get it checked out and the rep had a Hero that did the same damn thing! Apparently he didn't have a problem with his phone doing this because he just kept giving me some dumb blank stare.
1.5 never had a problem with web pages forgetting their locations when using the back button. Yet I haven't seen anybody else complain about this. Is anybody else able to recreate this problem? One thing to look for, after I reset the phone, reinstalled 2.1 or cleared the internet cache, the phone will do fine for a few minutes, recognizing pages like its supposed to, but after usually 4-6 times of clicking links the phone goes right back to forgetting locations.
I upgraded to 2.1. With 1.5 I had a phone I loved that worked fine and the only problem I had was a laggy phone-book, now I have a phone with a laggy dialer and that doesn't do web pages correctly. BTW, it does this with all browsers, not just the stock browser and Dolphin.
Anyone else have the problem of their bookmarks in the stock browser reverting back to the default ones? Twice in the last week I have lost all of my bookmarks on a phone power off and back on - I did not go in and clear any data or cache in the browser.
