View 3 RepliesGot yahoo working on my hero by putting android before imap.Only thing is there is no option to leave messages on the server. Done a test and if I delete from the phone it goes from the server too. Dont want hundreds of emails building up for eternity on the handset.. Hotmail works fine, deletes from handset only as options allow.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a thread of texts to one person that has reached almost 1500 messages. Every time I go to try and delete the thread, my messages freeze and I have to force close and restart my phone. Anyone know of a way to delete messages another way? & I recently set my phone to delete after 200 texts. Would this maybe be causing the freezing does anyone think?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I have a text open and press menu and try to delete it does nothing. I have to go to the inbox view of all messages and long press a conversation and select delete and it works. I noticed this started happening after I updated to 4.1.1 jellybean on my HTC One S
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been enjoying my phone so far but now its running kinda slow in the message department, so I figured I'd clear out all my messages, all 3000+ plus. Android just doesn't want to delete them, I've heard that it can take 5+ minutes to delete message threads 500+, I'm screwed because one of my threads has over 2000! This phone should be storing older txt messages to the sdcard anyway, not sure why it wouldn't. Basically this thread was made to complain how crappy clearing out messages was.
View 49 Replies View RelatedSome of my threads have over 600 texts in them, and are taking forever to load up. Is there a way/app to archive these and then delete them as they go?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have set the stock messaging app to keep 75 text messages for each user. For some reason, once that 75 message point is exceeded, it only deletes the incoming messages. My replies are kept, and the total number goes above 75 indefinitely until I delete the long tail of my replies at the top of the thread. First, would I be correct in assuming that this is not normal behavior? Second, if that's correct, how do I fix this?
If it matters, I'm using an HTC Evo 3D with a rooted version of the stock ROM. The same problem happened before rooting. I don't believe this is a maker- or device-specific problem, but I'm happy to repost in the Evo 3D subforum if it is.
I was in a group chat with 6 people today. It was a lengthy chat. I just went to look back through it and earlier messages are gone (CM10.1).

There you go. And remember, once you have deleted them, they are STILL in your memory and retrievable.
See one of my other posts about how to permanently delete them.
To clean the inbox of my HTC I often erase all messages. However, this action is synced to gmail and erases the messages. I don't want that; I want them to stay in the inbox (forever) Is there a setting that disables the sync action?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the droid incredible and I use the handcent app for my text messages. Everytime I try to delete my messages from the inbox, the app force closes and when i go back to the app, it'll keep force closing until I shut the phone down. Im using the Handscent app for text messaging. However over the last week or so when i go to open a new message, the application freezes and shuts down. When i go to open it again all my messages are deleted. They are also missing in the standard messaging app that came with the phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it did did you find a way to stop it happening?
I know the stock messaging app has the option to delete messages over a limit, but the limit itself was set after the fact. So my limit is around 500 but I got some threads over 500 already (from before), any easy way to get rid of them?
Galaxy Nexus 4.4.3 (Cyanogen Mod)
A couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?
Do any of the alternate email applications - K9, Maildroid, etc. - allow you to delete emails from the inbox? I keep thinking that I must be missing something in the stock Gmail app that I can't figure out how to do that.

2. How do I un-grey the notification sound options?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI broke off with a girl I have dated for some months and would like to delete all messages from her to get her out of my head and sight.
However, nothing happens when I press "menu" and then "delete thread".
I am suspecting this might have something to do with the length of the thread - it consists of nearly 1800 text messages so perhaps the phone just crashed due to the shear size.
I'd rather not want to delete one and one single SMS.
