Do any of the alternate email applications - K9, Maildroid, etc. - allow you to delete emails from the inbox? I keep thinking that I must be missing something in the stock Gmail app that I can't figure out how to do that.

i would just like to ask on how can i get the messages on my email inbox folder and display it? similarly, how can I access gmail's inbox or other mail client's inbox folder? is this possible on android?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?
I've been using Maildroid for about 6 months with no issues. However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

I just found out from mobile Defense that the Android OS will not let this app or any of these type apps work as intended, i.e. the OS does not allow the GPS or Data or WiFi to be turned on remotely if off. Kind of kills the whole idea of having these apps, anyone know of a non root work around as the cellular south HTC Hero cannot be rooted without major issues?

I understand that he cannot upload chargable applications from certain countries. But why close his account? Some people are travelling and have half their family in one country and the other half in the USA.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Roadrunner account is setup on my EVO and receives email, sends email, no problems there. Issue is that emails that I've already downloaded to my pc Outlook are still showing up in my inbox on my EVO. I've looked through all of the settings and cannot find one similar to what I had for my Windows Mobile mail, which deleted mail that it didn't see was on the mail server anymore. Is this a possible bug or maybe an intentional design, or am I missing a setting?

Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

This question may have been answered elsewhere however I cannot seem to find an answer that helps so far.Both accounts say that I have new email message in my Inbox, however when I go into the Inbox, there are no messages there. If I then select 'Mark all messages as read' it says:'Mark all messages in 'Inbox' as read? (including messages in the folder that are not displayed in K-9).How do I access the emails that it says I have, but cannot see?

After some testing, I foudn that when I enable pop-up notifications, I can view incoming messages. But at no point do they become visible in my inbox... i.e. when I close the pop-up there is no trace of that message ever existing. My new android phone comes with a few pre-installed applications that I do not particularly need. I have some very basic questions
1) Because they are already there they seem to have a special "status", compared to all the other apps that I download. When I try to backup/restore using AppBackupRestore, those "special" pre-installed apps fail to restore. I cannot "uninstall" them from Settings/Apps. Ideally I do not want to have to re-download the whole world after a factory reset, and I depend on the AppBackupRestore to keep the latest copy of the app in local memory where it can be re-installed from.
2) What happens if I delete one of these apps from the system/apps directory? Will the app then magically disappear? Or will I need to do a factory reset in order to get rid of it?
3) Does it really matter if there are many pre-installed applications, if I do not use them? I mean they do not use any CPU so is the gain only cosmetic ?
4) Assuming I can delete any apps I want, which apps *must I not* delete? Are there any special applications that I will not be able to download from Google Play
Setting up my new htc desire just have 2 quick email related questions
1. is there no push notification email on IMAP ?
2. is it possible to get notifications on new email in secondary folders as well as INBOX?
Not talking about the text size of the actual emails here, but the text size of your inbox message list when you click on the icon or on the drop down notification. To me the text is huge, and therefore the inbox list is shorter and you only get a small preview of the info. Is there a simple way to reduce that text size that I just haven't been able to find?
