I know the stock messaging app has the option to delete messages over a limit, but the limit itself was set after the fact. So my limit is around 500 but I got some threads over 500 already (from before), any easy way to get rid of them?

I kept reading that if you buy the g nexus, you have the option to delete any factory apps that you don't want. But i can't figure out how to delete g. maps or google+ on my nexus. & every time i disable them they start running again. How can i delete them? btw my phone is not rooted, but i have flashed updates ect.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Nova and Cyanogenmod 10 on my rooted Nexus 7. I've attached a screenshot to show the problem. All of my app icons have disappeared. I don't want them on the dock of course but on my home screen I cannot get the app icons to come back. For the life of me I can't find anything in either the system or nova settings to get the labels back. I have TouchWiz 5.0 theme installed.

Is it possible and if so how do I do it?
Last week, I flashed my LG Nexus 4 (16GB) phone with stock Android 4.4 (Official Image), before that I was on CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Stable.
Now, for some reason I didn't like the stock 4.4 and tried to Flash back my CyanogenMod 10.1.3 from CWM "Install ZIP" but the problem I'm facing is that it CyanogenMod doesn't boot, hangs on "Spiral Splash Screen". Then I tried Flashing CM 10.0 stable, still loops into boot forever and at times boots (after 15-20 minutes of booting on spiral splash screen) and doesn't recognise SIM card, Camera, Storage, WIFI or anything.
Then after getting fed up with this I tried flashing MIUI V5. This also takes a 15-20 to boot and fails to recognise - SIM, WiFi, Camera etc.
So lastly like a loser I flashed back my Android 4.4 it works fine.
I've my boot-loader in unlocked state.
and Yes before flashing CM or MIUI, I did - wipe data/factory, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache from CWM Recovery.
So I want to get back into CyanogenMod 10.1 stable.
If I have a text open and press menu and try to delete it does nothing. I have to go to the inbox view of all messages and long press a conversation and select delete and it works. I noticed this started happening after I updated to 4.1.1 jellybean on my HTC One S
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have set the stock messaging app to keep 75 text messages for each user. For some reason, once that 75 message point is exceeded, it only deletes the incoming messages. My replies are kept, and the total number goes above 75 indefinitely until I delete the long tail of my replies at the top of the thread. First, would I be correct in assuming that this is not normal behavior? Second, if that's correct, how do I fix this?
If it matters, I'm using an HTC Evo 3D with a rooted version of the stock ROM. The same problem happened before rooting. I don't believe this is a maker- or device-specific problem, but I'm happy to repost in the Evo 3D subforum if it is.
I was in a group chat with 6 people today. It was a lengthy chat. I just went to look back through it and earlier messages are gone (CM10.1).

Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

Second: What about when i flash Cyanogenmod? Is my data/apps safe there or do i need to redownload the apps and backup my stuff?
Third: If i root my phone and do not flash a new ROM, will it be just as hard for me to update the firmware as on a jailbroken iOS device?
And lastly: I have heard about Titanium Backup, what does it backup? The OS, the apps and/or the data? These are the questions i need answered before starting the rooting process.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI installed Cyanogenmod 10.2 a few days ago, and has been working fine up until about an hour ago. My phone basically locked up while I was using Spotify, so I did a hard reboot, and got stuck in a boot loop. I tried to reboot a few times with the same results. I didnt have much on my phone, so I did the factory reset (using Teamwin recovery), but after that the phone was still stuck in the boot loop. After that, I tried the "Format Data" option.
After going through, It was still stuck in the boot loop. I've also tried to restore backups, but to no avail. I'm not super knowledgeable about the whole inner workings of rooting. I didn't want to do the advance wipe (includes internal storage, system, USB-OTG) for fear of really messing something up. If it completely restores to factory settings, i don't really care, I just dont want my phone to be completely unuseable.

I have also set my phone on download mode
When i open heimdall , i just assumed i need to select the md5 file within the firmware zip file, when i do that after the extraction, heimdall says that the file is missing firmeware.xml.

I flashed this ROM (cm-10.1.0-RC0-1-GT-S5830-cooper++.zip) and clock having problem, it says the the clock stop from working, and everytime i will set alarm, it force close.
and i'm using NQ Android booster, and everytime i kill some background apps, it will restar my phone..
I recently ungraded my Samsung Galaxy GTi1900G with Cyanogenmod 10.1 ROM following the instructions exactly as mentioned in their site. Installation has smooth and absolutely no hiccups, phone is running smooth like butter.
Only annoying thing is sometime the screen is getting locked out all of a sudden during any activity like browsing, watching videos on youtube, etc.It keeps locking off immediately after I unlock the screen and this continues for 10 12 times at a stretch before I can finally unlock the screen. This incident is happening 2 - 3 times a day and is quite disturbing.
PFA the attached system log that I captured once during the issue, I was surfing youtube in FullScreen mod and during the capture the screen locked out twice. The screen locked out 6 time during this instance bu in log only last two have been captured.
It is my first time to run cyanogenmod on my phone. I have the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 2 4G and I tried to install the CM 11 of jfbs. I did all the backups and I wiped the data and cache and installed the ROM and Gapps. But I rebooted my device and the Cyanogenmod logo appeared with the spinning arrow and it didn't want to stop spinning (or loading if you want). My phone was stuck on logo and the spinning arrow. I forced the phone to turn off and when I rebooted it I worked but after a little time it went back to the logo and the spinning arrow. I re-installed the ROM and Gapps but like before, the logo and the spinning arrow still there until now and it won't even stop and lead me to the lock screen.
