Sprint HTC Hero : How To Restore Apps After Upgrading To Fresh 2.1.1
May 18, 2010I was running Fresh 1.1+Gumbo and decided to take the plunge. I made my android backup, and backed up all my apps+system files with Titanium Backup and then flashed to Fresh 2.1.1. My question now is, how do I restore all my apps that I backed up. Do I just re-install the app from the market? And then use that to restore my old apps? Any help would be appreciated. Also... how do I enable apposed in 2.1.1 in the notes, flips stated it's turned off by default. I'd like to turn that on. I like me lots of apps, and would rather have them on my SD card.

May 22, 2010I am about to do the upgrade to 2.1 Eclair from a stock 1.5. I want to back up my contacts and my text messages and be able to restore them.Some of my contacts are associated to phone instead of Gmail. I dont know how that happened or what I can do to associate them to Gmail. Ideally I would like to perform a back up for personal use instead of on google, and restore when ever I need it.
- How can I convert existing contacts from phone to Gmail status.
- How can I perform a back up and restore, independent of Gmail syncing.
- I used a back up tool to send my text messages as mail to Gmail. I am ok with that but would ideally want to restore the messages back to my phone too. Is it possible.
Sprint HTC Hero : Turn Xml File Back Into Text Messages?
Sep 17, 2010So the charging port broke on my old hero, and i got a replacement. And i downloaded sms backup to take all my texts and turn them into an xml file on the sd card. On the new hero, i downloaded the same program but it does not seem to want to restore the texts back.
Any ideas on how to take that XML file and turn them back into text messages?
Games : Way To Back Up Zenonia Before Upgrading To 2.1v3?

Also if it's not possible to save my progress thus far, will I at least be able to get the game without paying for it again?..here's the original, hoping to get some help with this so I don't loose this great game. I was getting ready to take the plunge to 2.1v3 and went ahead and used Astro to create a backup file of all my apps. I was looking through the file that astro created and noticed that Zenonia wasn't there. I tried it again and still nothing. Finally I looked at the file through system panel and it told me that the game wasn't archived. Is there a way to get around this? I don't want to lose the game (let alone the save file) but I'm anxious to get moving on 2.1v3.

Nov 23, 2010Recently rooted, and Market says there is updates, but it can't update them. The apps were included as part of leedroid 2.2f. I've read that I can use Titanium to uninstall the app (e.g. maps) then install again from the market. Is this correct, don't want to upset anything.

Do I follow the same procedure as I did when going from the stock Orange/HTC ROM to 5.4 or is it a bit more in-depth? I am unable to run the Amon RA recovery image software as it says "backup failed: could not run command". Titanium Backup isn't doing anything apart from giving me an "SU request" notice (even when I've tried to d/l Busybox).

Dec 22, 2009Has anyone else experienced an issue I've complained numerous times about yet can't get resolution: When users upgrade our My Coupons app, apparently there is a service left unclosed. Fine. The issue being, the old service code interferes with the new code and users uninstall then reinstall immediately in attempt to resolve. Google registers the uninstalls, but not the reinstalls.
I repeat, the market registers the uninstalls, but prompt reinstallations DO NOT get registered!
I can verify this occurs as each time the app is first run it notifies our servers, and we've got record of each install. This record vastly differs from the statistics google is reporting. These records are verifiably unique users.

Nov 22, 2010Ok I'm looking to install new/bigger memory card (1gb to 8gb sdhc) for more memory after maintenance. I'm currently running Aloysious 2.0.9 Maps, looking to run new Custom ROM after my Sprint Store Visit. My vibrate mode stop working recently, so I'm gonna take back to Sprint cuz its still under warranty. I know I have to Unroot first before i take back, so i will. Do i Unroot to the 2.27 OR the 2.31 stock ROM? Will i be able to ROOT back to a new Custom ROM like LiquidSense 2.1, CM6, or aospMod v0.9.7. How/What files do i need to transfer over from my old card to new card after or before i flash new Custom ROM.

What I want to know is when I get my new card will I have to re-root all over again or will I be able to just copy the data from my stock card to my pc then copy it back over to my new card? Oct 27, 2009I am attempting to upgrade my ROM from the 1.7v. I dl'd the RUU file and did everything as required. However, when the bootloader tries to connect I get a prompt, "ERROR[171]:USB Connection ERROR". It asks me to make sure that the phone is connected to the USB cable and for the USB cable to be connected to the PC. Both are connected but I noticed that the phone is powered off. It will not power back on while connected. It will once I disconnect it from USB cable. This leads me to believe that the phone starts to do what it is supposed to but somehow disconnects.
