Nov 5, 2010I notice that there is a new software update available for my desire HD.However, when I go into system software updates and hit check now it just displays a 'checking.' message and nothing happens.anyone else had this problem?Any ideas on how to get the update?

I have tried to download the firmware update 2.1 but my phone says there isn't an update available.I'm currently running version 1.5, software version 1.56.651.2.I have tried to update the firmware through my computer (Macbook) but the files are Windows programs.Any advise?

Oct 11, 2010I just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?

Jul 16, 2010I'm trying to install SDK so I can root my phone, but I've run into a problem. I'm trying to update my drivers, but when I choose my usb driver folder, it says it cannot find the drivers to be installed. What is it I'm missing? I have the SDK folder on my computer. Does it need to be installed onto my phone's sdcard?

But apps like Yelp can find the GPS location on droid. Is there a workaround to find the user location on a device? Here's the code I am using code....
HTC Droid Eris :: Got 2.1 Update - Cant Find Digital Clock - Weather Widget
May 15, 2010Girlfriend just got the 2.1 OTA update and there only seems to be one clock widget. What am I missing here? The android widgets only show an analog clock and I can't find any widgets under HTC widgets. Nothing. At all. No widgets whatsoever... Anybody had this issue, can help me out here? I'm waiting for my OTA update and would love to have this fixed before I get my phone updated.

Jan 5, 2010Had a quick question - Did the update yesterday morning with no issues other than I can not find some of the apps I used prior to the upgrade. I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade. Digital Clock Widget: Silent Time: If I use my friends phone (same version prior to my upgrade), no problem finding these apps. Suggestions? I could always downgrade back to the previous version, but I was having some freezing issues that I hope this upgrade fixed...

Jun 19, 2010I updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.
When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.
2.1 Update :: Cant Find Phonebook Via Bluetooth After Update From Android 1.6
Nov 23, 2010After I updated to 2.1 i cant see the phonebook any longer in my car (BMW 1 serie with IDRIVE and bluetooth). With 1.6 I could chose a contact and then dial directly, or import the phone number (however it was not as great as the old symbian OS where you even could navigate directly to a contact). Is it someone that has any idea of a good app or something that makes this possible (maybe a Symbian simulator :-)).
I have also realized that the connection (dB) has decreased with the new OS. I even loos connection on the E4, with this phone (Xperia X10 mini Pro).

Jan 13, 2010I updated the firmware on my HTC Hero some time ago from Modaco to Firmware 1.5.I just got an N1, so I restored the Hero to give to my wife, and the next thing I noticed is there was no Google Maps. I went in to the Market and again...I couldn't even pull it in a search even though I pulled it in searches on my N1.
Does anyone know what's up here? Do I need to upgrade my firmware? If so, does anyone have a link to the install?

Oct 21, 2010I dont know how to enable sync. There is no application on the market made by google of that name.There is no app preinstalled. Gmail settings doesn't have anything by that name.I have enabled the IMAP and turned of POP3 to get push emails, but its a bit glitchy.So i was looking for Google Sync to see if i had missed out on anything.

It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? I've used desktop visualizer to no avail and I'm pretty sure I've gone through most of the more popular launchers but was unable to find a resize option in them.

2.1 Update :: Unable To Install Or Start Software Update Components
Nov 19, 2010I've been trying to update my phone now for nearly two weeks, trying various options, yet nothing I do helps in any way.I started off just running the update from SEUS with my phone as i've been using it.the updater started, gets about 70% through "Preparing" and pops up an error "Unable to install or start software update components." Closing which pops up "try again" or come to this site.I then tried uninstalling all installed components, same result as above.I then tried a Master Reset to factory setting, same result as above.I then disable the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, same result as above.Basically, i'm at the end of my tether, this should not be this difficult, I should not have to jump through this amount of hoops.If there was a way to legitimately root the phone (keeping warranty), I could already have Froyo installed, instead of this irritating mess thats causing me nothing but headaches.
