Feb 9, 2010Love the quickness of Steel browser and Twitter app Seesmic. How do I get back to Seesmic screen after opening link from Seesmic in Steel without going back to phone home screen and clicking icon which is the only way I have figured out how to do it?
My phone = HTC Droid Eris. When I use the stock browser or Dolphin Browser. Clicking back button on my phone goes back to Seesmic.
HTC Hero : Unable To Find Google Maps
Jan 13, 2010I updated the firmware on my HTC Hero some time ago from Modaco to Firmware 1.5.I just got an N1, so I restored the Hero to give to my wife, and the next thing I noticed is there was no Google Maps. I went in to the Market and again...I couldn't even pull it in a search even though I pulled it in searches on my N1.
Does anyone know what's up here? Do I need to upgrade my firmware? If so, does anyone have a link to the install?

I have tried to download the firmware update 2.1 but my phone says there isn't an update available.I'm currently running version 1.5, software version 1.56.651.2.I have tried to update the firmware through my computer (Macbook) but the files are Windows programs.Any advise?

HTC Hero :: Unable To Use Browser When Connected To WiFi
Jun 9, 2010I am new in Hero. Since some day, after I turn off the mobile network, and switch on the WiFi, I could use mail box, ebuddy, everything, except Browser. But I switch on the mobile network + WiFi at the same time, its work fine for everything included Browser. But after restart my HERO, I can switch on the WiFi without switch on the mobile network and no problem at all, but after using mobile network, problem is coming to me again.

Dec 3, 2009Ever since I've had my HTC Hero, the internet connection has been really flaky. That is, about half the time it works ok, but with a slow start, and the other half it doesn't work at all, and comes up with either a "cannot find page" in the browser, or "a network error has occurred" in Market or other apps.
I bought into the Hero thing because I wanted a mobile internet device and my iPhone wasn't cutting it with the lack of Flash. But at least my iPhone always worked!
The problem I'm having is this:
No matter whether I'm on wifi or not, browsing for a webpage in any of the available browsers (standard, steel, dolphin), has a delay of about 5 seconds, and then either starts loading the page, or comes up with some kind of "page not found" error. This happens with all websites, including the home page of google, which isn't exactly big or unreliable, except on my Hero.
Also, any app that uses an internet connection, such as Market, more often than not comes up with "a network error has occurred". Clicking "retry" rarely works.
Now if it was just through wifi, I would think it might be the setup of the routers that I've tried it on, allthough I've tried it on 3 completely different types of router, all with same symptoms.
I've also done much testing with wifi switched off, and still the same issues.
I could understand it if it just didn't work ever under either wifi or other, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I have done my wifi tests while sitting right next to the routers, with maximum signal reception being indicated.
Ok, so it tells me that "a network error has occurred". Is there some way of finding out exactly what the error was? Was it a timeout, or a DNS error, or what?

May 11, 2010I am working on an application that needs to find GPS location of the user. While testing my code on Droid i am unable to find the GPS location. While googling i found this link to an issue raised with Google.
But apps like Yelp can find the GPS location on droid. Is there a workaround to find the user location on a device? Here's the code I am using code....

It's a combat flight sim pretty similar to Armageddon Squadron, but just from playing the demo I think it's quite a bit better than that game. It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? Android :: Unable To Find Info On Temperature Sensors
Jan 29, 2010I can't seem to find this info on the droids temperature sensor (the one available in the SDK):
Does it indicate ambient temperature or is it the temperature of the phone or chip?
Also, does the pressure sensor indicate atmospheric pressure?
