I notice that there is a new software update available for my desire HD.However, when I go into system software updates and hit check now it just displays a 'checking.' message and nothing happens.anyone else had this problem?Any ideas on how to get the update?

I have tried to download the firmware update 2.1 but my phone says there isn't an update available.I'm currently running version 1.5, software version 1.56.651.2.I have tried to update the firmware through my computer (Macbook) but the files are Windows programs.Any advise?

after unnstaling and installing Ver 3, my computer and phone refuse to connect - just get the message on the phone saying 'Unable able to find HTC sync on your PC'. is any one aware of the solution to this issue.
I just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had been using HTC Sync successfully to sync my calendar items and haven't used it for a week or two and now all of a sudden when I connect my phone via usb to my laptop, its searching for ages and then comes up with "unable to find HTC Sync on your PC". HTC Sync is def open and installed on my laptop. Any advice on what it could be? I've powercycled the phone and laptop. changed the usb port can't think of anything else.

But apps like Yelp can find the GPS location on droid. Is there a workaround to find the user location on a device? Here's the code I am using code....
ive decided finally to bite the bullet, having a desire on 707.6 not being able to update OTA maybe due to the great firewall of china or HTC either way, no matter how many times i got to settings > about phone > check for updates, .....so the only option here is to flash a new rom....im not going to wait any more while everyone has Froyo...

now here is my question upon looking at roms it states i need to also install a radio as well, this guide does not really tell me how to go about that (yes im very green at this) can someone please enlighten me because i clearly do not know something im supposed to common sense would dictate that i would repeat the install zip step and install the radio...but i know sometimes computers do not use common sense
I found out that I can not use the update function on my phone to download software updates for froyo.The update downloads fine, and the installation starts fine.But after the phone restarts it will only process about 20% of the installation, and then start up without finishing the update.I can repeat that cycle for ever, but no update.Any idea how I can fix this without factory reset?

My question is that why doesnt the original app update to the new one, and as my desire is not rooted why should i be forced in to having 2 of the same apps as i cant remove the stock one. Seems like someone is having a laugh. Please no replies about having to root the phone, i shouldnt have to root the phone to get the latest version.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having an issue with apps on my phone. Basically, over the past few days, I cant update apps from the marketplace at all. The market comes up tellling me there are new updates, when I go to download and install them, they all download fine, and then start installing, and then all of a sudden, it tells me installation was unsuccessful and nothing happens anymore. Its doing this for all apps I try to download from the market. Help would be much appreciated. Btw, I've got my phone set to install apps to mem card as default using the force apps to sd work around thing that was posted on the board.

Now it almost cannot find a satelite to update my location. I wrote almost, because once it did manage, but that was once in at least twenty tries. Do you have any idea how to check if the radio is ok. I read somewhere that one should try with master reset of the phone. If so, would it be enough to backup my data with Titanium backup and option "Backup all users apps + system data" and restore it later on? Will that make a full restore of my phone or do I have to backup some additoial data? Like, what will happend to my personalize data, apps passwords etc.

With 1.6 I could chose a contact and then dial directly, or import the phone number (however it was not as great as the old symbian OS where you even could navigate directly to a contact). Is it someone that has any idea of a good app or something that makes this possible (maybe a Symbian simulator :-)).
I have also realized that the connection (dB) has decreased with the new OS. I even loos connection on the E4, with this phone (Xperia X10 mini Pro).
I have been searching for this app for a while and still can't find it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated the firmware on my HTC Hero some time ago from Modaco to Firmware 1.5.I just got an N1, so I restored the Hero to give to my wife, and the next thing I noticed is there was no Google Maps. I went in to the Market and again...I couldn't even pull it in a search even though I pulled it in searches on my N1.
Does anyone know what's up here? Do I need to upgrade my firmware? If so, does anyone have a link to the install?
I dont know how to enable sync. There is no application on the market made by google of that name.There is no app preinstalled. Gmail settings doesn't have anything by that name.I have enabled the IMAP and turned of POP3 to get push emails, but its a bit glitchy.So i was looking for Google Sync to see if i had missed out on anything.

It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? I've used desktop visualizer to no avail and I'm pretty sure I've gone through most of the more popular launchers but was unable to find a resize option in them.

I am unable to flash back my GT-9100 firmware back to its original state as i flash a modified PDA, Phone and CSC files into it.
The problem that i faced is i am unable to select which files for which section of Odin after downloading the ROM from Infratech's post.

I've been trying to update my phone now for nearly two weeks, trying various options, yet nothing I do helps in any way.I started off just running the update from SEUS with my phone as i've been using it.the updater started, gets about 70% through "Preparing" and pops up an error "Unable to install or start software update components." Closing which pops up "try again" or come to this site.I then tried uninstalling all installed components, same result as above.I then tried a Master Reset to factory setting, same result as above.I then disable the Firewall and the Anti-Virus, same result as above.Basically, i'm at the end of my tether, this should not be this difficult, I should not have to jump through this amount of hoops.If there was a way to legitimately root the phone (keeping warranty), I could already have Froyo installed, instead of this irritating mess thats causing me nothing but headaches.

Does it indicate ambient temperature or is it the temperature of the phone or chip?
Also, does the pressure sensor indicate atmospheric pressure?
I would like to to try this but have not been able to find it on the market. I am one of the unlucky ones to still be on 1.5...could this be the reason why?

I'm trying to update my drivers, but when I choose my usb driver folder, it says it cannot find the drivers to be installed. What is it I'm missing? I have the SDK folder on my computer. Does it need to be installed onto my phone's sdcard?
