I'm trying to install SDK so I can root my phone, but I've run into a problem. I'm trying to update my drivers, but when I choose my usb driver folder, it says it cannot find the drivers to be installed. What is it I'm missing? I have the SDK folder on my computer. Does it need to be installed onto my phone's sdcard?

I just got my new laptop today. When I did the .sbf restore before I was on Windows Vista 32bit. I now am on Windows 7 32bit. Do I need to find new drivers or anything or everything going to work the same if I need to sbf?
I have a question about shutter lag. Is there a way to reduce the lag? I have been doing some of the suggested mods to the build.prop file and I am wondering if there is a mod we can do to reduce shutter lag when taking a pic.
I take the CyanogenMod 10.3 for my Alcatel OT995, it works fine on my device, but I can't use adb command line neither other features using adb.exe ! I can only access to storage mass device, so I think I have a problem with the USB drivers which connect ADB command to my phone. But apps like Yelp can find the GPS location on droid. Is there a workaround to find the user location on a device? Here's the code I am using code....

After reading in this forum and the Italian HD forum I successfully flashed the firmware(to H8 cause you people said the II5 is buggy) and rooted my phone. I want to install the USB drivers but I have a problem: I've already seen the guide that kam made but when i try to install the ADP driver I get this message(after it recognizes its a ADP driver but not recognize galaxy): I think this pictures will explain better than words. What happened when i install the driver: This is how my device manager looks AFTER i installed(unsuccessfully) the driver: this is how the driver looks: I use windows XP if somebody is confused. You can see in the "details" that my phone is VID_04E8&PID_6640&MI_04 So that is not the problem. UPDATE: I managed to solve my problem with this file.
I am unable to install the USB drivers for Windows XP - I have downloaded the correct zip file, but the drivers are marked as being detrimental to Windows XP somehow and they just won't install. Can I copy them out of the zip file and manually put them somewhere? I'm inching ever so slowly towards rooting and am trying to get my ducks in line - but they're not cooperating.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFollowed the instructions in http://developer.android.com/sdk/adding-components.html for adding 2.0 as components to an existing 1.6 SDK, from within Eclipse. It didn't work. Not by a long shot. Instead, it got partway through and then said that C:android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1 empDocPackage.new01 couldn't be copied because of a lock, and similarly for PlatformPackage.new01. It said to shut down running programs, but the only program running was Eclipse, which was needed to do the upgrade. The cancel button was disabled, and the close box didn't work. Shutting down Eclipse killed it, but left C:android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1 in a corrupted state. Restarting Eclipse showed the Android projects with errors, no SDK, and a disabled Android SDK and AVD Manager (which means no ability to rerun the install). Shutting down Eclipse, renaming the corrupted SDK directory, unzipping 1.6 again into C:, and restarting Eclipse made it as if nothing had ever happened, which is good. But it is not possible to complete the install from Eclipse, which is bad.

Ok i have not been able to find any answers what so ever regarding the people that can not find the backup/restore option after entering the recovery mode. I have recently rooted using the new z4root application. I get a skull and crossbones supper user app, and was wondering if that means its different than the one with the ninja icon that everyone else gets.
Anyways, When i go to make a nandroid back up, i follow the steps to the letter, but when i get to the recovery menu, my options stop after the wipe baseband data option. there is absolutely nothing else there that says anything about backup/restore option everyone seems to be screaming about. Its not there!
Now please can someone figure out a solution to this problem?

Use d-pad to highlight: center to select.
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset

I have gone through the previous thread on this error, And I have already tried following suggestion : 1. Add maps.jar with Google API 2. and also mention the <uses-library> attribute in manifest file.
But still I am unable to launch the activity, in logcat it is showing that package <package name> requires unavailable shared library com.google.android.maps ; Ignoring.
I downloaded the android sdk on my windows laptop. I also downloaded the usb drivers but when I do a wizard setup to apply them to my eris it is unable to find the drivers even though I click on the right folder.

I got the PC to recognize my phone by installing HTC Sync but in the Device Manager it still shows a yellow exclamation point.
When I troubleshoot it, it says Windows can not launch driver "Error 37". Anyone know what's wrong? I have my phone rooted using the PB00IMG.zip file but can not complete the recovery partition due to the Windows not being able to communicate with my Eris.
