May 11, 2010I am working on an application that needs to find GPS location of the user. While testing my code on Droid i am unable to find the GPS location. While googling i found this link to an issue raised with Google.
But apps like Yelp can find the GPS location on droid. Is there a workaround to find the user location on a device? Here's the code I am using code....

Sep 16, 2010I took the plung today and finally rooted! I'm am so happy right now. I feel like a kid in a candy shop. But anyways, enough with my bragging.
I have read all over the place that there are themes available for different ROMs. However, I am having a very difficult time finding them. I am currently running BB 0.4 and wish to install a theme. I have read that smoked glass is a very cool theme.
Can anyone please help me find themes for BB 0.4. Also, if anyone is willing to throw together a post with links to themes for different ROMs, I will be willing to put your thread in the sticky at the top of this forum. I think it would be a good idea for us "noobs" and veterans to be able to easily find a comprehensive list of themes available for the different ROMs floating around.

Dec 30, 2012I just installed the newest MIUI version on my SGS3 (I9300) Unfortunately it seems like I'm not able to use themes... When using the themes from XDA it says that they're not from the original store and doesn't allow me to use them. When trying to download themes with the preinstalled "Themes" app, nothing happens when hitting the "download" button... not even an error message. Then I tried to download them from the XIAOMI (official MIUI store) website. When using some of them the same thing as with the XDA themes happened. The only exception where the official ones made by the "MIUI Design Center". They gave an error message that said that the Server was unavailavble. I guess it tried to check if the theme was from the MIUI store. I also tried turning off my Wi-Fi and data connection. That didn't change anything.
Is there any way to stop that nonsense? Like trying to stop that online check so I can use my themes? I understand why XIAOMI did that, but since I'm not using paid themes it doesn't make a difference to me...
Motorola Droid :: Unable To Apply Themes
Apr 1, 2010When I rebooted the phone got stuck at the boot animation (Red Rage).I can even hear the notification for the SD card being mounted, and then the screen times out.I can push the standby button to get it to turn back on again and then it turns off after a few seconds, as if it is at the lock screen.It then just sits there, still at the boot animation and the touch screen does not respond.I've left it for up to 10 minutes like that and the phone isn't frozen or anything, but it's just stuck at the boot animation.I pulled the battery, went into CW Recovery and cleared the cache.Reboot again.This time it boots up Android OS just fine, but it's still the normal Cyanogenmod theme.Also, recently whenever I've restarted the phone, the live wallpaper has reset to the Nexus wallpaper that comes with Cyanogen and the dust theme. I have to keep switching it back to Nexusmod donate with the blue theme (my fav!). Wasn't sure if that might be related.

It runs fine when I deploy from eclipse but never remains on the device. any idea whats happening? Gmail settings doesn't have anything by that name.I have enabled the IMAP and turned of POP3 to get push emails, but its a bit glitchy.So i was looking for Google Sync to see if i had missed out on anything.

Nov 19, 2010I am working through a facebook-sdk example and trying to utilize the collection of classes as provided as a .JAR. I am relatively new to java and eclipse so I expect I am making some obvious blunder.
The issue is that everything seems to compile fine, but when I run the project (using the android emulator) dalvik vm is unable to find the first class I reference from this facebook sdk. ( com/facebook/android/Facebook.class )
As an aside, if I copy the source directly into my project as an additional package everything works fine.
Step 1: I exported the com_facebook_android project as a .JAR file. ( right click project, export, java / jar file ) I choose c:datajagjar as my location to save facebooksdk.jar.
Step 2: I hit properties on the project HelloGoogleMaps, Selected Java Build Path, Libraries, Add External JARS... I the directly selected the c:datajagjarfacebooksdk.jar file.
At this point my project seems to be building just fine ( no errors ).
Step 3: Debug the project and receive the error:

Jan 13, 2010I updated the firmware on my HTC Hero some time ago from Modaco to Firmware 1.5.I just got an N1, so I restored the Hero to give to my wife, and the next thing I noticed is there was no Google Maps. I went in to the Market and again...I couldn't even pull it in a search even though I pulled it in searches on my N1.

Jun 29, 2010I had been using HTC Sync successfully to sync my calendar items and haven't used it for a week or two and now all of a sudden when I connect my phone via usb to my laptop, its searching for ages and then comes up with "unable to find HTC Sync on your PC". HTC Sync is def open and installed on my laptop. Any advice on what it could be? I've powercycled the phone and laptop. changed the usb port can't think of anything else.

It seems the only launcher that will let me resize the icons is Go Launcher but I find it to be bulky and cumbersome is there any other launcher out there that will let me resize or even an app which will do it for me? I've used desktop visualizer to no avail and I'm pretty sure I've gone through most of the more popular launchers but was unable to find a resize option in them.

Dec 31, 2013I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.
