HTC EVO 4G :: Way To Return Phone To ANY Sprint Store?
Jun 18, 2010I had to drive an hour away to pick up my evo because everywhere within a reasonable distance was sold out, but i finaly caved in. I have barely a light leak under my home buton (somewhat thankful that this is my only problem haha) but i like things being perfect and i want to start exchanging evos until my standards are met. But i would like to know if i have to drive an hour or if i can drive 3 mins to the one down the block.

According to XDA member, EyesLikeOlives, he/she recently had a discussion with some Sprint rep who declared HTC EVO 4G is downgrade able from Android 2.2 Froyo to Android 2.1 Eclair.Spoke with a customer service representative from Sprint while moving my replacement HTC EVO 4G from one phone line to the other and asked if he knew of a way to "down-grade" from Froyo to Eclair. His response was this:"I checked the information regarding the degradation of HTC Evo software, you can visit our Sprint store to change the software of your HTC EVO to 2.1 . We will change this for you without any cost."We really don't know if the above mentioned discussion/proposition holds true for rooted HTC EVO 4G owners running Android 2.2 Froyo. Some of the members at the Forum are apprehensive of the situation and claim it as You heard what you wanted to hear and this will never happen actually.

Jul 8, 2010My sprint store has finally recieved the new batch of evos this week. I exchanged mine for one today (had some bad screen light leakage all over the phone and it was slowly growing). immediate thoughts:
Yhe back is noticeably grayer than my old one.
The camera has metal shavings (correct term?) and isnt as "polished" and smoothed as the old one. But it really isnt bad..actually feels rugged and more secure ^^.
Screen colors seem..more realistic?..i believe it is an epson now.
Sensitivity seems just a tad bit better...tested it on my old Evo this morning and it was definately slower.
The bottom and sides seem a bit more sealed than before..although not as much as I'd hope for but i guess i have to give it a week to see if the screen starts separating like last time.
And it is hardware version 3. my old one was 2
So...has anyone else gotten a replacement Evo? and if so, notice anything different?..feedback would be great. oh and I'll get back on the battery and if it's different at all (charging right now).
HTC EVO 4G :: Old Games Bought From Sprint Store Years Ago
Jul 8, 2010So I bough a couple games from the Sprint store (online) a couple years ago, including Bejewled, Deer Hunter and Tetris. I have changed phones a couple times since then, and was able to redownload them free of charge because it kept records on my account of them. Now I have my Evo and cannot figure out how to get back to the Sprint store site, so I cant get these games I have already paid for. Any ideas?

My brother has a G1 (Mobile USA), which has piqued my interest in the Android platform. My question is: Is the app store synced with every kind of Android-capable phone, or just that specific phone? If I was to buy a HTC Magic, would it use the same app store as the G1? AFAIK, some other major platforms, such as Symbian do not sync, and it's 'every phone for itself', but I was thinking that Android was more synergic.

One thing I can't figure out is where dose the pictures get store to.(The Actual Directory) I did download ASTRO(Great Tool) but still am unable to hunt the actual store directory that the pics gets store to. Dose anybody know where this is. Nov 2, 2010In my Android app, each activity is filled with data from an xml file which is somewhere on the web. The website providing these files has a login mechanism, that works with cookies.
I know how to make a HTTP Request to the login page and receive a cookie. What I don't know is, how I can store it to re-use it in both other activities AND when the app is started the next time. The cookie is valid for a year, so the user of my app should log in once and then never again for a whole year.
How do I do that? I googled a lot, but either I used the wrong keywords or there are no simple solutions on the internet.

May 7, 2010I going to want to make my own ringtones soon, and I am wondering what everyone recommends is the BEST or better way for me to get my music onto my phone and storing it. For example, is it better to put music on my phone with the music app, clip and cut my ringtone in that app and store my tones that way.
Or is it better to clip up a song on my computer using something like Audacity and then send it to my phone via Bluetooth or USB Tethered? Oct 18, 2010Got my Eris back in May...love it so far. Rooted w/ 2.2, launcherpro, and running smooth at 768mhz. I've been trying to tweak it to run as quick as possible, and, this morning, deleted my SMS texts to improve performace in Handcent. Worked well, even if I had to clear out all my old texts. No big loss. My question is: since my SMS texts were stored on my phone, does Gmail store all its emails on my phone, as well? I have a few thousand e-mails in gmail (2626 to be precise) and hope not! I wasn't sure how my phone accessed gmail, where it stored data, etc.
