View 3 Replies View RelatedStill learning my Hero, but having issues with my music which I can not seem to get fixed. The problem is when I open up the folder when it is connected to my laptop it will say that a certain album or song is in the music folder that I have set up. However, when I unplug the phone from my computer and open up the music, the songs can not be found?!? I've sorted by each individual song and even looked in the dreaded "unknown artist" and "unknown song" folders and can not find the songs anywhere, but they will show up in the media file once its connected to the computer. Its making me feel really stupid cause I know I have enough room in my phone still, so I must be doing something wrong for a few of my songs, but I have no idea what.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have music that is playable with Google Play Music player, but not with other players. I have chosen for the music to be "on the device", and it plays when even in Airplane Mode, so I know it is not streaming, but the music files do not show up in my "Music" directory tree, or under any other file trees that I can find. I have used ES File Explorer to do a top down search for some of the missing titles, but it doesn't find them. I'm perplexed. There must be a cache somewhere, but I can't find it.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI went into the synch area of Windows Media Player and marked a bunch of my music file not to synch any more. So I figured on the next synch of my Droid X (Android 2.1) the corresponding files that were already on the phone would disappear. But they didn't. Shouldn't they? Do I have to go through and manually delete them one by one from the phone?I'm not sure Windows Media Player's approach to setting up a synch list makes sense at all. Is DoubleTwist or WinAmp less confusing?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to upload my music library or access the files directly from the computer from anywhere, including my phone for free. I have done some searching around and have only found Posner.com, but it doesn't let you play an entire playlist from your phone, only a single song at a time. Anybody have any ideas? Also, I hear people talking about gmote when I look around, but isn't that a remote control? Not a way to play the music on the phone, please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Evo, recently switched from an iphone. Loaded just a few songs on my Evo to test out the USB to car stereo connection and it works. But I liked the way iphone worked with the stereo better because all the Evo does is show is let me browse through folders like an mp3 CD would. The iphone would let me browse through artists, albums, playlists, genre, etc, etc all from using the controls on my steering wheel. Sooooo, does anybody know of an android app that will make my car stereo browse artists, albums and playlists like it could with iphone. I know its not a big deal but it would be more convenient, probably only advantage my iphone had over Evo.

I have one called Music and one called Playlists, but you can do this however you want. Now launch MediaMonkey, and make sure it shows your phones memory card in the left sidebar (separately from the MyComputer option) In MediaMonkey, click on Tools up top, then choose Options and go down to Portable/Audio Devices Uncheck *all* of the plug-ins except d_USBMass1.dll Highlight d_USBMass1.dll and click on the Configure button to the right Choose the Device Configuration tab in the dialog box that popped up In the middle of this tab, youll see a box called Device Name, which is where youll type the name of your phone (mine is NexusOne)Below this, choose the appropriate drive letter from the drop-down Below this, enter a Drive Label (again, mine is NexusOne)Leave the USB Device ID box empty and dont click the Find Device button While you have this dialog box open, you can tinker with the other tabs, if you want. This is where you can specify a folder hierarchy and adjust your sync settings. I would recommend creating a small playlist (~15-20 tracks from various artists/genres/albums) to test with you dont want to do a full sync only to realize you dont like your sync settings. This guide is better because it allows for the use of smart playlists and has much fewer steps than if you use winamp.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a ton of music on my SD card in my phone, approx. 6.5GB worth on an 8GB card. The problem is, the music players in Android (I've used the default, RockOn and MixZing, though I want to stay with MixZing) only recognize about 80% of the music, in their libraries. The thing is, the music is there! If I browse to the folder and launch the file it will play, but there's no artist/title data, even though all the files are properly tagged (mp3s), plus, it opens in a weird verion of the default music player that will stop playing if it loses focus.
This has been a issue ever since I got this phone. It's a brand new SD card (my previous one, in addition to this problem, had major corruption issues; I originally thought it was the card but I guess that's not the case). Also, I've gone through two different ROMs (one when I first got the phone, and a second that I upgraded to about a month ago), so I don't think that's the issue. It seems to affect random folders (albums) at different times, whenever the library is refreshed, but I can't refresh the library manually (that I've found) to see if it's just not scanning those files, or if it's a more underlying issue. I'm stumped
I've been using the standard media player on my Nexus one since I've gotten it, only loaded music once using simple copy and paste method on the folder level. Problem is I've gotten new music (alot) and I can no longer fit it all on my nexus one.
Before someone mentions it, I've tried using DoubleTwist and I'm not a fan, I've had issues with slow syncing, duplicates, and as a music manager I can't determine the total size of the media I want to sync, can't choose more than all or selected playlists, no artist selections, I can't edit the file tags within the application, and some music isn't removed when I try to remove it from my library (not move to trash)... Overall I'm very unsatisfied.
Needless to say I'm looking for something else to use, something that allows me to rate my music both on the desktop and on my nexus one...and that those ratings actually sync on... this will allow me to determine what I Listen to and thus only transfer that over to my N1.
How do I get the Amazon mp3 store on the Incredible? If not possible how can I download music?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am looking to sync up all of my devices (go android for phone and tablet, or apple for phone and tablet).
The thing I like most about the apple stuff is the Itunes movie/book store.
Basically I can buy movies and put them on my tablet/pc/iphone (with the future cloud streaming) from the Itunes store...Granted the stupid Ipad doesnt have a way to do TV out so I heard.
I want to stick with Android since I like the OS and I like the open nature of the software. However, there is no one place that I can go to get all my Media like the Itunes store. This is especially true for Movies/TV shows. It would be nice to have all of my movies on either a cloud or on my tablet so that when I travel, I can watch them or link them to a TV.
I know right now I can rip my DVDs to MP4 format, but I like just downloading a movie when I want to. I dont want to have to go to 5 different places to find what I wanted to see.
Basically does anyone know if Google is planning on making some sort of integrated market that has TVshows/Movies/Movie Rentals/Ebooks?
I've figured out how to get the camera to work. It's taking a 1/4 resolution picture and I'm putting it into the gallery. Next, I want to create a small icon of that picture to put on a button. I've seen several examples and the code below is what I've been trying:
showMessage("Next Step is cropping - Waiting ...");
logDebug("Sending URI " + mOutputFileUri);
// now we want to grab a lower res version for the button.
Intent cropIntent = new Intent("com.android.camera.action.CROP");
cropIntent.setClassName ("com.android.camera","com.android.camera.CropImage");
cropIntent.setData(mOutputFileUri); //cropIntent.setData(intent.getData());
cropIntent.putExtra("noFaceDetection", true); cropIntent.putExtra("outputX", ICON_SIZE);
cropIntent.putExtra("outputY", ICON_SIZE); cropIntent.putExtra("aspectX", 1);
cropIntent.putExtra("aspectY", 1); cropIntent.putExtra("scale", true);
cropIntent.putExtra("return-data", true);
startActivityForResult(cropIntent, CROP_FROM_CAMERA);
But, this blows up with a null pointer exception. I also get a warning in the log message stream saying the image file isn't finished writing. I've based my code on this:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1973359/android-crop-an-image-afte...
Also, when it tries to delete the temporary file, there is an error because I don't have permission. This smells like I'm just missing something important. Is there any other way to get an icon of the image?
Is it possible to store custom ringtones on the device itself (nexus one) rather than on the sd card? t5hat would eliminate the problems resulting from a mounted sd card. when I have the sd card mounted and someone with a custom ringtone calls I don't get any ring at all.

Is there a store/app similar to amazons mp3 app, for movies to be purchased on the HTC hero?
In other words...
My question is pretty simple...I want to download/purchase movies to watch on my phone...don't really care about ripping dvds, I was hoping there was an app with the latest movies that could be purchased and downloaded directly to the phone and played through a movie player...
I just got a free HTC Magic at the Google I/O conference and am liking it so far. I'm trying to set it up as a day-to-day replacement for my iPod, and right now I'm using BeyondPod for podcasts and have tried several different music players. My plan was to keep the two separate - Podcast software for podcasts and a music player for music. There's just one problem that is driving me nuts: I can't figure out how to keep "non-music" MP3s (namely, podcasts) out of the music library. The music players all seem to scan for every audio file on my SD card, and can't be forced to use just the Music folder. So I end up with a music library littered with podcasts.
I'd put them in separate playlists, but the files are constantly changing, and it wouldn't be worth trying to keep up with them. Am I missing something? I've googled the heck out of this and can't seem to find anyone else who's bothered by this. Is there any way to have a music player only play files from a certain folder?
