HTC EVO 4G :: Old Games Bought From Sprint Store Years Ago
Jul 8, 2010
So I bough a couple games from the Sprint store (online) a couple years ago, including Bejewled, Deer Hunter and Tetris. I have changed phones a couple times since then, and was able to redownload them free of charge because it kept records on my account of them. Now I have my Evo and cannot figure out how to get back to the Sprint store site, so I cant get these games I have already paid for. Any ideas?

Do Apple App Store and the Goodle Android Market have fees for putting apps up (like say, they take 10% of each sale for themselves)? Also, when you put them up, are there options you can choose as to what payment options are accepted? IE, I recently tried to purchase the game Snail Buster but it would not accept Discover Card. With that second question, what "options" do developers have when submitting apps to the store/market?

Has anyone got any idea why the cost of Android apps seems to be waaay more than the cost of iphone ones?A work colleague was saying that he downloaded Angry Birds (which I beleive is on its way to us) from the Apps store for 59p? I can't see it being 59p when it comes to Android?Yet all the apps in market seem to be more expensive than that, well the odd ones that are listed in sterling currency and not dollars.

Not possible with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4. The only way is to use Titanium Backup, and better than that, Nandroid Backup. You can as well extract data from a Nandroid backup with Titanium Backup.
I have a Nexus S and I wonder if, with the option Settings -> Accounts and sync -> Background data & Auto-sync & Manage accounts (sync is on) the settings and savegames are automatically stored "on the cloud", let it be my Google account or similar, because I don't have a rooted phone and don't want to do that to preserve warranty.
So, the apps for wich I want to save data are:
Air Penguin
Angry Birds
Angry Birds Rio
Angry Birds Seasons
ArmySniper
Clouds & Sheep
Dolphin Browser HD
eBay
EGGGZ
Flight Director
Jewellust
Jewellust Xmas
Labyrinth
MultiGrain
X Construct

Sprint chooses an 'Advocate' for each new phone when it launches, giving a new, not-released phone to one employee to learn the month before the launch. My friend works at a store, and today they decided on their Advocate. My friend said that the Advocate is always decided within about a month of its release!

This may seem like an odd question, but, right now I'm using a late 2008 model Samsung Rant(I cannot wait to ditch it),I seem to have good 3G signal on it, but it seems to be sluggish at the start of using data.Basically what I'm asking is, have the 3G antennas used in phones improved in the last few years? Can I expect an upgrade in that manner or has it pretty much been the same technology for several years?

There is a date calculation error in the Contact app. When I press the People icon, then long click a person and select Edit Contact, scroll down to the birthday field. If I entered the date 11/12/1935 and select Done. the date shows in the Birthday field 11/13/2009. I select the Birthday again and the date is 11/12/1935.
With some testing If I place the year on 1945 or later, the day stays 12 but if I select 1944 or earlier the day changes to 13.

I recently bought a DroidX and am looking to import 10 years of Outlook calendar info. I don't need to do a two-way synch as I am using Touchdown for Exchange synchronization and it works great (but it is not good with large calendar history files). I just need a stand-alone calendar app that has it's own data file and can import my Outlook calendar history and allow me to search.

I'm looking for a way to trigger repeated actions. I'd like the user to be able to choose the intervals at which these actions will be executed. One should be able to choose from intervals like "Every Day", "Every Month", and "Every Year". The setRepeating(int, long, long, PendingIntent) method of the android.app.AlarmManager class only supports a long value for choosing the interval between the execution of the pending intent. My problem now is, that I can not just compute the number of milliseconds that "fit into one day", since not all days have the same length (daylight saving). This is also a problem for the interval type "year" (leap years).
I had a quick look at the android.os.Handler class, but as I understood the documentation I'd need to keep a service thread running for my actions to be executed at some future time. I don't consider that a good option for my needs ;-) Is there anything in the API I could configure with a cron expression or the like? I was also thinking about scheduling an alarm with the AlarmManager for a single execution at a given date/time and then having a receiver that does the rescheduling according to a cron expression attached to the intent. But I don't know if I just got something completely wrong here and I'm reinventing the wheel with that approach

How should I move 10 years of calendar information to my Google Gmail account? Currently using Outlook 2003, HTC Incredible (no calendar info yet); old phone was Palm Centro. Ready to take the plunge but do I move all calendar data at once? Someone mentioned copying everything until this year and placing it in an archive calendar? Have no idea how to do this. And I want/need to be able to see (and search) on all my old data.

I have barely a light leak under my home buton (somewhat thankful that this is my only problem haha) but i like things being perfect and i want to start exchanging evos until my standards are met. But i would like to know if i have to drive an hour or if i can drive 3 mins to the one down the block.

figured i would post this up since i havent seen it here.. wonder if it is true..Visit Your Nearest Sprint Store To Downgrade HTC EVO 4G From Froyo To Eclair. There is some interesting discussion going on XDA Forums that caught our attention. According to XDA member, EyesLikeOlives, he/she recently had a discussion with some Sprint rep who declared HTC EVO 4G is downgrade able from Android 2.2 Froyo to Android 2.1 Eclair.Spoke with a customer service representative from Sprint while moving my replacement HTC EVO 4G from one phone line to the other and asked if he knew of a way to "down-grade" from Froyo to Eclair. His response was this:"I checked the information regarding the degradation of HTC Evo software, you can visit our Sprint store to change the software of your HTC EVO to 2.1 . We will change this for you without any cost."We really don't know if the above mentioned discussion/proposition holds true for rooted HTC EVO 4G owners running Android 2.2 Froyo. Some of the members at the Forum are apprehensive of the situation and claim it as You heard what you wanted to hear and this will never happen actually.

My sprint store has finally recieved the new batch of evos this week. I exchanged mine for one today (had some bad screen light leakage all over the phone and it was slowly growing). immediate thoughts:
Yhe back is noticeably grayer than my old one.
The camera has metal shavings (correct term?) and isnt as "polished" and smoothed as the old one. But it really isnt bad..actually feels rugged and more secure ^^.
Screen colors seem..more realistic?..i believe it is an epson now.
Sensitivity seems just a tad bit better...tested it on my old Evo this morning and it was definately slower.
The bottom and sides seem a bit more sealed than before..although not as much as I'd hope for but i guess i have to give it a week to see if the screen starts separating like last time.
And it is hardware version 3. my old one was 2
So...has anyone else gotten a replacement Evo? and if so, notice anything different?..feedback would be great. oh and I'll get back on the battery and if it's different at all (charging right now).

My phone is unbranded, unlocked, rooted, partitioned EXT3/FAT32 and running oxygen 0.2.1.I am upgrading to a 16 gig microsdhc card. What do I need to do to switch over?Is clockwork recovery on my sd card? I am concerned if I switch to a freshly partitioned card i'll lose the ability to flash.I don't care about personal data lost because I don't have any. This phone is barely a few days old. I don't mind starting fresh as I'm still experimenting with roms and such.

I have a Evo on one of my lines that pissed me the hell off after the 2.2 update and I have a Epic at a Radio Shack waiting for me this very second when I'm able to sneak out of work. I was just curious to hear what any former Evo users thought. I cant wait to get it to see if ##775# works...Long story regarding force roaming. Although I'm not much of a cell gamer dude I am curious to see if Asphalt 5 looked better then the Evo since the 30 fps cap def.shows, (gets choppy when too many cars are onscreen). I'm thinking if I like the Epic enough I'm sell my Evo and make my money back ez.

I just bought an HTC Desire from a streed vendor. He said the phone used to be on vodaphone monthly contract. The phone was lost/stolen and sim blocked by Vodaphone.
Now when I try to use my T-mobile (sim monthly contract) in Desire, it shows the network but when making any calls, no call is made. It shows 'call ended'. Does anyone know why this happens? (Have I made a mistake by purchasing this phone?) Does this need to be unlocked?

I am resident of India. But right now i am in US. I am planning to buy a Google Dev Phone 1. I will be using it in India once i am back to India after 2 months.
If I buy it in US, can I use it in India? My suspect is on 3G band currently used in India (BSNL/MTNL) or soon to be used (by airtel / vodaphone).
This is Android's spec # 3G WCDMA (1700/2100 MHz) # Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) I am not sure about the upcoming 3G bands in India. Can any one clarify this?

I am currently travelling at Hongkong, here in Mongkok district of Hongkong, there are hundreds of shops selling mobile phones at 'quite cheap' prices. I just bought a HTC desire, it was sealed with plastic, and the storekeeper said that it was a HTC desire with warranty. For HKD 4100. I wanted to buy 2 units, one for my sister. But the store only has 1. So I went to a store next door, and the storekeeper said what I just bought must have been a 'refurbished' one. He said the normal price in HK should be around HKD4250 - HKD4300. Question is, Are there really any method to check whether this new phone I just bought isn't a refurbished one? or a second hand sold as a new unit ? seeing me as a foreigner, they would think I am easier to trick.
