I'm having a bit of trouble with overclocking. I'm running Fission 2.1, no theme at the moment. I tried using the built-in overclocking zip files but they made my phone extremely slow and very unstable. After that I downloaded Jrummy's Overclocking app. I can only get up to 1.15Ghz on all four voltage settings before my phone craps out on me. I've tried going higher on different voltage settings but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?
View 18 Replies View RelatedWell, I've been noticing a few more problems with my eris as of late (if you want to know the others look at my post history)I've been unable to get past the lock screen to display sometimes. I just got off the phone with a friend, it was a long call as the phone/battery had heated up a bit. Now, everything with the phone seemed to be okay, I went and pulled up the HTC battery widget and was around 34C. I've seen it get this high before and had no problems. Now, I locked the phone and a few minutes later I tried to unlock it. The unlock screen would display but the touch screen wouldn't not receive any of my input. The Menu button did not work either. I could push the end button time and again and the display wound turn on and off, but no touch input ever worked. I just had to do a battery pull to get into my phone.
I've also been noticing inside TaskPanel that the amount of available memory steadily declines even if no programs are running. I have mostly sense programs ignored and I've included timerriffic and beautiful widgets as they are always running and need to be so they will function. (beautiful widgets I just purchased yesterday and I've had this problem for a week or two) If I do successfully get past the lock screen the phone will be extremely slow and TaskPanel will report something like 20 megs of available memory, with no applications running. If I restart the phone I'm usually fine. I think it is happening around the 13-14 hour mark of my phone being turned on.
I'm assuming something is hogging up my phone and I just can't tell what it is. I don't have very many 3rd party applications installed. They are closed immediately after I'm done with them except for beautiful widgets and timerriffic. I've had timerrific since the 2nd day I've owned my Eris and it's never been a problem (not to say an update didn't hose it)Anyone have similar problems? Anyone think of anything that could be causing this? [side note: I did notice a few weeks back my exchange calendar was freaking out and draining my battery, but deleting and resetting up my exchange email fixed that and it doesn't seem to be a problem now]
I know that it is possible to get past 30fps, but I am not in any way shape or form a techie so I dont know how to root or what a ROM is. Do I have to root to get a ROM? And also what exactly is a ROM and how will it affect my device? Just looking for a newb walkthrough. I know this may have been asked before but I really appreciate your patience in helping me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm still new to this Rooting so I have a question. I've tried about 14 different ROMs over the past month or so. My Eris always freezes up when I set the OC past 787mhz. I have read where some people are using Kernals that let them OC past 800. Is this something I can flash to my Eris or is my Eris just limited to 787?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis may seem like an odd question, but, right now I'm using a late 2008 model Samsung Rant(I cannot wait to ditch it),I seem to have good 3G signal on it, but it seems to be sluggish at the start of using data.Basically what I'm asking is, have the 3G antennas used in phones improved in the last few years? Can I expect an upgrade in that manner or has it pretty much been the same technology for several years?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have ran into a issue while trying to root my Droid. I was following the sticky and the first time I used RSD and loaded SPRecovery 2.1 SBF it failed. I got a Critical Error DEA1. I then booted the phone and ran the file again and it completed this time.I have powered down and held X each time and never get past this screen. I then went into the section on putting the stock OS back and I get the same issue. Is there anything I can do? I have been searching the forms, but I cannot find anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started charging my phone (with the wall charger) around 12 last night and when I checked it at 10 this morning it was only charged to 40%. After texting a few people, etc. it went down to 30% while still on the charger but after I left it alone it went back to 40%. I turned the phone off and back on and unplugged it from the wall and plugged it back in and nothing's changing. This has never happened to me before.

Ive flashed a few rooms(BB, fresh, etc) but now i am back to the stock rom with root (Supersonic_1.32.651.6_ rooted) and i am still getting the same speeds.PRL updates have been done. I even did a full data restore(##3282#->data*->data restore). Nothing is working Im pulling the battery for a while to see if that helps.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI just got a new, unbranded, unlocked Hero (my first, so I have no idea how things are supposed to work), and can't seem to get anywhere:After start I get language settings, then select "next", then a request for a SIM card. I don't have that card yet, but I can't skip this window. According to HTC-support, a SIMcard is not necessary for setting up the phone, using many of the functions, and using WiFi. But they didn't tell me how to solve the problem. After a lot of fiddling around, I managed to find the WiFi settings and got connected there. But there simply is no Home Page (or whatever its called, the main page that you see in all the adverts), I can't get to settings, there are no applications.I did a hard/factory restart, but no joy - the problem stays the same.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI got this class, and nothing inside the onCreate is happening? Does it not automatically get called upon initialization?
Code is below.
CODE:......................
Doing this results in a "application has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". If I initialize the string to some set of characters instead of null, it'll just stay that way. Should it not do what is inside the onCreate() and make that change?
Does anyone know if there's a way to access past app installs via the sdk? I want to be able to get a list of all the apps users have downloaded from the Market.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using some buggy firmware for my android (LG GW620, running OpenEtna 6.1RC1 which is running Android 2.2)
I was running a lot of apps and presumable I was low on memory (not sure if this info was useful) when an SMS came in from an important person.
I saw the sms notification from Handcent SMS in the notification bar but when I clicked on it, Handcent opens to an empty screen with no message but just the number on top. Thinking that I might have clicked wrongly somehow, I pressed back which brought me to the screen with the list of SMSes. However, that latest SMS wasn't there at all! I tried the default Messaging app and it wasn't there too.
And it was then that I realized I should have at least taken down the number it was sent from. Now I have no idea what number it came from or what that message was about other than the first 3 words which appeared in the notifications bar when the message first came.
I've been googling for a solution to see if its possible to recover SMS but there seems to be no solution short of sending it for forensic services. Does anyone know how I can retrieve any info at all?
Alternatively, does Android keep a log file of all notifications that appears on the bar? If so, does anyone know where it is stored and if it can be recovered? I just need the phone number...
I have tried everything on my wife's I9001 but I cannot get Odin to get past SetupConnection. Here is a picture:
I have tried:
Redownloading Odin 1.3 and 1.85 and also tried using Multi Downloader 4. (Which says that the .md5 file isn't supported).
Changing USB ports.
Using a Jig to boot Download mode.
Booting into Download mode normally.
Installing MobileODin except that I9001 is not supported.
Trying to flash a different rom other than 'I9001XXKQ1_I9001XXKPI_I9001DBTKP1_HOME.tar.md5'
Rebooting the computer over 9000 times.
Rebooting the phone over 9000 times.
Pulling the battery over 9000 times.
Reinstalling the drivers from Kies.
Turning USB Debugging mode off (was worth a try)
Using a different computer.
Reinstalling my OS (seriously, I had to do that anyway)
Leaving the phone plugged in for 30 minutes anyway just to see if it was working but not updating.
I am unable to boot into 'Recovery Mode' also the phone sh!ts itself and boots into 'RAM Dump' instead... where it requires a battery pull to reboot. So I can't even put the rom file on the internal memory and use recovery mode to flash it from there...
Basically nothing works at all. Odin 1.35 fails, Odin 1.85 fails, Multidownloader fails. I have tried rebooting, restart, and re-bloody everything I can. I have no idea why it won't get past setup connection. I've even tried using my second USB cable. It used to work fine, I used to be able to flash the phone fine.
Kies is NOT running in the background... there are no processes open or anything. I have googled and yahooed and everything to find a solution to this. NOTHING works.. I need to flash this dhfshfgdshgfshs phone as soon as possible. It's not working properly and it's really unstable..
I'd love some input from anyone before I take my Incredible in for service, please.Three days ago I realized that the charging light was remaining yellow long beyond the phone's usual charge time. Even after leaving it plugged in overnight, the next morning I was still at less than half charge, going only by the Settings>About Phone>Battery>Battery Level graphical display. Last night same thing, whether the phone was on or off, still a yellow charge light. Today for the first time since I got the phone, the battery indicator itself turned yellow towards the end of the day.Preemptive facts:Prior to starting a new thread, I did a thorough search and found nothing related to this specific battery issue.I have the OEM, red, HTC battery, and have never charged it outside of the phone, or with any charging cable other than the one supplied with the phone. When I first received the phone, I charged it fully, unplugged, and bumped charged before turning it on. For about a week afterward I would charge to green while on, unplug, turn off, and "bump charge". I have never had trouble getting through the day on a single charge, and no, I don't think I was training a lithium ion battery, I believed I may have been training the software of the phone itself.I have tried charging the phone fully both on and off, and have not seen green for over two days. This includes continuous charging for over 10 hours.I have had the phone for roughly seven weeks. The phone does charge- just now I have gone from @25% (as measured on the aforementioned graphical display) to @40%, but at that point it seems to no longer charge, although the "Battery State" says "Charging AC" and the little battery icon shows the charging animation.Have I got a dead battery, or am I missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a charging problem with my new HTC desire - I only got it today. Basically when i opened the box and set up the phone the battery charge level was at around 25% full. Im in the UK but i got the phone from the US over ebay, so it didnt come with a UK mains adapter however i have an ipod mains-USB charger (that the USB cable plugs into) which i thought would charge it up by using the USB cable that came with the phone and plugging it into the ipod charger. So i plugged it in and the LED light lit up orange on the phone and the animation came on showing that it was charging so i turned the phone off, but when i checked and turned it back on after a few hours of the phone being plugged in it was still at 25% battery when i unplugged it.I assumed it didnt work because i used the ipod charger so I tried charging with just the USB cable plugged into my computer with the phone turned off, a few hours later its still at 25% charge. It hasnt gained any battery charge past 25% (it did loose battery when i had it unplugged but only charged back up to 25%)Does anybody have any ideas on what the problem is, is it because of the charger im using with it being US? I just bought a UK HTC official charger from the internet so I hope that will work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just restored my factory image with Android 4.4.2 and then flashed Cataclysm ROM and just a few moments ago I was setting everything up and then started messing with AdAway. I was having trouble with applying the host file but got it working by turning on ADB in developer options. When I rebooted for about the 2nd time the battery started to not go above 0% (it recently shut off right as it was applying a host file)... I got it back on and it wouldn't go above 0%. I took off the charger for a second and it shut off right away after it was on the charger for about 5-10 minutes. Now the red light is blinking while its off and charging but I can't get it to turn on, even when taking out the charger and making the red light go off. I haven't tried rebooting into bootloader yet, and right now it's just sitting on the charger with the red light blinking.
UPDATE: I got it ON, but it won't charge past 0% and right when I take it off the charger it is going to shut off. Should I delete the battery stats file? If so, where is it?
compile a ROM based on CM10; what would make that ROM go into a never-ending boot animation on a clean flash (wipe data/cache/dalvik), yet boot up without a problem when dirty flashed over a CM9 variant. One might think that since a dirty flash over CM9 works, what about dirty flashing over a CM10 variant? What if it acts just like performing a clean flash and never gets past the boot animation?
Lets compound this by adding that once a successful boot-up after the dirty CM9 flash has occured; if one goes into recovery and wipes data/cache/dalvik, the ROM goes back into a never-ending boot animation.
