Jun 13, 2010Even with my headphones plugged in the text sound can be heard through the phones speakers. It's annoying how do I turn it off?

May 20, 2010Is there any way to get a different sound to play for text messages than emails? It would be kinda nice to know in the middle of the night whether I need to reach for my phone or not. Shouldn't be an unreasonable request, but I can't see any way to do it on the phone.

Dec 19, 2013I jut picked up a Samsung Galaxy S3, and I am trying to change my notification sound for text messages. I put an MP3 file in the appropriate folder, and selected it in the settings menu on messaging. It keeps reverting back to the old default message notification sound.

Aug 13, 2012I have done a battery pull, as well as restarted, and rechecked the boxes for repeat sound notifications for my text messages. The repeat sound is set at every 2 minutes. I do receive the original sound notification, but, I never get the subsequent notices. Verizon is at a loss...gee imagine that...But, at the same time, the Haptic (vibrating touch) randomly unchecks it's box and I lose that function about every 2-3 days also.

Oct 28, 2009this is mu 2nd hero phone and both will now not allow sound to come through headphone. At 1st the sound comes through great then np sound at all through headphones.
Today at lunch, I am walking outside aneto into 7-11 andfeel my phon3 vibrare and then no sound throuth the headphones. It's like the headphones are muted. When headphones are plugged in there is no symbol showing heaephones are plugged in.

Feb 22, 2013i'm on Galaxy S3 with Sotmax Rom V15. when trying to hear music through the headphone jack (no matter the HF brand) the music (and all sounds) are muffled. like it's 5.1 or 7.1 output into a stereo device. the singer sounds distant and the background channels are in front. there's no bass, mainly treble. when listening through the speaker it's sounds fine.

Nov 23, 2009Anyone else getting a crackling sound out of their headphones when media volume is 100%? If I turn it down one notch the crackling disappears. Nov 4, 2009I got this problem, the headphone logo is on my htc hero, but there is not headphone plug in, therefore I got no sound unless I plug in my headphone, but when I take it out, the logo is still there. To make it worst, I now cannot sync to upgrade the software. I did a master reset, and the headphone logo is still active. All I did was switch off my phone and turn it back on, this happen.

Oct 8, 2009I've been reading these forums for a while now, and some of these posts are the reason I got a Galaxy myself, imported from Germany
So far I totally love it, but there's this small issue that made me register and finally make a post here.
My previous phone was an Apple iPhone, but I dropped it so the screen broke, and I didn't bother with trying to fix it, so I decided to try something new.
Now, what I loved about the iPhone was the headset/handsfree that came with it. It's the best I've tried so far, and that's why I really wanna use it instead of the crap one Samsung bundled with the Galaxy.
Now here's the problem:
When I use the Apple headset with my Galaxy, the vocals on music doesn't play, unless I press and hold the answer/hang up/shuffle button on the handsfree. And because of this, it does ofcourse not work as a answer/hang up button. The bundled handsfree works as it should, with normal sound, and buttons.
I have no idea if this is a hardware 3.5mm issue, or a software issue, but all I know is the Apple headset works fine on my brother's HTC Hero, which makes me believe it's less likely to be a software issue.
I'm also reluctant of buying another handsfree, incase the Galaxy only works with the bundled one.
Oh, almost forgot, if it's of any use, I'm running the II5 firmware, updated through NPS.

Now, when my girlfriend texts me, I get no vibration, AND no sound. However, I would like to export the text messages, into CSV format or similar. Any readable format would do. I have always done this with my Nokia phones before. Does anyone know a way to do this? I like the phone (besides the camera) but it is getting slow, despite using taskiller, only installing about 7 market apps ever, and clearing the cache of those apps regularly.

Feb 12, 2013My wifes ZTE Blade 1 phone broke (graphics chip broke) but have a spare ZTE Skate. Luckily I have a clockworkmod image of the broken phone & have extracted the data from it to get the mmssms.db & telephony.db files.
However, when I paste them over the exsiting files (have root etc) & reboot I get force close errors & have to replace the old files back.
There is no way to boot the old phone & backup the messages - the only way to get the messages back is to get the mmssms.db to work.

May 7, 2010Hey, I was playing around with my Incredible today, and to my dismay I have made it so my phone does not vibrate when I receive text messages.
I looked through all the other threads and they didn't help.
I've gone through the sms settings and turned vibration "on"
I even have it in vibrate mode. that didn't work.
regular mode. didn't work.
I fixed it just in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Download "sound manager" open the app, click your "menu" button and click "vibrate options"
You'll see that vibration notifications are turned off.
