I was wondering if there is any way to back up my text messages from my HTC Desire onto my laptop? I installed the back-up disk I got with my phone but it only lets you back up pictures.

View 35 Replies View Relatedso today my htc desire has decided that it won't send any text messages.phone calls work, signal is fine, but whenever i send a text it just buzzes and says it's unable to send. i last successfully sent a text yesterday (20th may) at 23:39. haven't installed any apps since or anything like that.i am very frustrated. this is basic stuff here that a phone should be able to do. anyway, eventually it gives up and tells me:"Unable to send message after multiple attempts."

When I try to text here it lags like crazy (I assume because it has all the messages on that page). Like, it will not respond and i have to wait like 15 seconds before i can type between messages sometimes.. very annoying. Anyways, I can't seem to find any way to back these up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am about to do the upgrade to 2.1 Eclair from a stock 1.5. I want to back up my contacts and my text messages and be able to restore them.Some of my contacts are associated to phone instead of Gmail. I dont know how that happened or what I can do to associate them to Gmail. Ideally I would like to perform a back up for personal use instead of on google, and restore when ever I need it.
- How can I convert existing contacts from phone to Gmail status.
- How can I perform a back up and restore, independent of Gmail syncing.
- I used a back up tool to send my text messages as mail to Gmail. I am ok with that but would ideally want to restore the messages back to my phone too. Is it possible.
Weird issue here but very very frustrating. When I'm scrolling up through a conversion to view old texts in a thread once I take my finger off the screen it immediately just snaps back to the bottom (newest texts) so I can't scroll up past like 6 previous texts. I tried a battery pull and still does it.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I send text messages which are longer than one line but less than 100 characters, sometimes the other person texts back that all they see is an empty box. At first I thought it was the other persons phone but several people are telling me the same thing. This does not always happen, but often. One liners seem to have no problems. I called Rogers tech support and they give me the same aswers all the time for different problems.
1. reset the phone to factory settings(which I already did, and same thing happened)
2. If you would like we can send a replacement phone since the problem seems to be hardware related.( I doubt this, since I can send texts and other person receives them, except the times they receive an empty box)
So the charging port broke on my old hero, and i got a replacement. And i downloaded sms backup to take all my texts and turn them into an xml file on the sd card. On the new hero, i downloaded the same program but it does not seem to want to restore the texts back.
Any ideas on how to take that XML file and turn them back into text messages?
When I woke up this morning all of my texts were gone. I do not have anything set to delete them. Why would the phone delete all of my messages?

Before I did, I took a full android backup and a full Titanium backup.I suspect I missed something, but I can't seem to get my SMS messages back.Would anyone have any suggestions? It's not the end of the world if I have to restore the android backup to recover them, but I would rather not obviously.

I had the usual hastle of my facebook contacts getting in the way so I removed the facebook sync in account settings (it was a pain when trying to send a text message to multiple people) but for some reason I can still see my sim card contacts when sending a text message and I cannot find any options in settings to only view phone contacts. When I look at the contacts settings I only have phone contact selected. I dont really want to delete the contacts from the sim as there are some numbers that I want to keep on there incase I ever need them again, so if anyone knows another work around that would be great.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have created a group to send out joke texts etc however when i sent the text to the group i have created some go to their mobile number (What i want) and others go to their e-mail address... I have checked all the settings and cannot find a way to select the mobile number. Also some people that get it sent via text also have an e-mail address saved so it's not defaulting to e-mail for all the contact in the group with an e-mail address...

View 5 Replies View Relatedi'm brand new to this forum (and to android in general)! i just got an HTC Desire through Telus and i absolutely adore it.however i have a very annoying problem.whenever i receive a long text message from a friend (over 130ish characters), the message is broken apart into separate text messages and the messages are not in the order in which they were sent. since i get A LOT of long messages from friends, this is a huge pain in the butt.i don't mind the long message being broken down into smaller messages, my problem is that the small messages arrive in RANDOM order.

1. I received a text message from my credit card company, who are not in my contacts list. The phone has listed the sender as a random facebook contact who is not in my 'people' list. How has this happened and how can I fix it?
2. I have used some of my friends facebook profile photos in my people list. However, when they update their profile picture, the photo does not change on my phone. Can I do anything about this?

I have not selected the option to delete all old messages, So im a bit confused and annoyed about this.Especially since ive lost a lot of important messages.Has anyone had the same issue?
