So this is really bugging me. when i am on the phone i have no clue i have recieved a text other then the light flashing.if im holding the phone to my face the flashing light is useless.is there a way to have the evo make a sound or vibrate to let me know i got a text.

Even with my headphones plugged in the text sound can be heard through the phones speakers. It's annoying how do I turn it off?

I have my phone set to vibrate mode but it only vibrates when I get an incoming call. Verizon said this was normal but there might be an application to change alert settings and such.

When everyone other than my girlfriend texts me, my phone vibrates and plays the notification sound. Now, when my girlfriend texts me, I get no vibration, AND no sound. The only thing I could think of is that I gave my girlfriend a custom ringtone I made with ringdroid, but that wouldn't make any sense since its for a call, not a text. Please help me, shes getting mad at me when I respond 2 hours later.

The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

Not until I check my phone is when I notice this since I gotten the text 2 hours prior. Its happened a couple of times already and recently just happened. I'm wondering if any of my apps such as launcher pro or others are causing this. I have my profile sounds to normal so I'm sure it should give me a ring.

Everything works quite awesome, but I'm not getting my notification sound when I get a text message. I do get it for other notification events, and I've tried a couple different sounds just for good measure. Is this a ROM issue? An issue with my phone? Anyone else experiencing it? Right now I'm using the default messaging app.

I open text, read, respond, then might set the phone down and have no alert that I've received another message. Used to be fine pre-2.2/wipe.

I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my old phone (LG Dare) the phone would beep every x number of minutes if you did not read a new text message. Is there a way to set it up on the DX so that if i don't read a new text after the initial ring, it will beep or play the rington like every minute. this is the only feature i miss, bc sumtimes i walk away from my phone and miss the text coming in and i wont know its there unless i check my phone. I would like to have it beep or something every minute as a reminder that you have a text waiting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo if I have the messaging app open and on screen I don't get a notification sound for the message that I just got sent I have looked into settings and nothing, so if I respond to a message and put the phone down and they respond I dont know unless the app is closed - or I assume the screen is turned off but never tried that. I got 9 text messages from someone and it was important that I respond quickly, well I did and then put the phone down, they texted back 1 min latter and then again 1 min after that and again 1 min after that 8 times, I never saw them until I looked at the screen and that was like 5-6 min latter - screen timeout is set to 2 min but after the text after 1 min it reset that timer and again and again so I never got the message until 5-6 min after it was sent resulting in messages like "hello?" "WTF" "answer" and so on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII. I updated to the stock ICS last week, and ever since the update, my text notifications and email notifications will periodically mute themselves. Screen still lights up, notification is still in the notification bar, but no sound.
I've changed the settings to ensure I have them correct several times. I did a master reset as well. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue temporarily, but it always goes back to not working.
Blackberry user for the last 6 years. Just left the Storm & received my DInc today! A friend of mine sent me a mms with a sound file attached that I want to use when receiving text messages. I clicked the message & saved the file but cant seem to locate it anywhere. Anyone know how I can locate this file & set it as my default text sound?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
