Motorola Droid X :: MP3 Audio - Sound On Phone Through Headphones?

For those of you who have the DX how is the sound on it through headphones when using it as a MP3 player?
I have had my Droid since release day, and I am still carrying an iPod Touch as well. My problem is that I keep getting problems with audio playback using headphones with an inline remote. For me, it is absolutely essential to be able to pause/play audio when out and about. People talk to me, I get up to the checkout stand, etc. And, the process of pulling the phone out, swiping it on, getting to the app and pressing pause just won't work. Headphones with inline remotes are the only thing that really work for me.
The problem is that the Droid can't seem to play nicely with these remotes. The volume controls never work at all, and sometimes the pause/play works, sometimes it acts like a skip to the next track. Sometimes it just freaks out and starts cycling through my various audio apps (Listen, Pandora, the stock music app) and then eventually freezes. Has anyone found a workable way to do what I want? I need to be able to pause and play audio while the phone is entirely stashed away.
Anyone else getting a crackling sound out of their headphones when media volume is 100%? If I turn it down one notch the crackling disappears. Headphones are not the issues as I have verified this on 3 different pair. Im gonna see if my wifes droid does the same thing but figured I would post up and see what others thought.

Later after I unplugged it and tried to make a call on the phone there was no audio coming from the phone. I had to reboot the phone to get it back. I think I read somthing about this someplace. I kinda remember something about the switch sticking in the audio jack. I've only used this jack twice now and the phone is only a month or so old. Is this a known issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my car I am currently using a cassette adapter plugged into the earphone jack. Two things I noticed.
1) When listening to audio (panda) Nav cuts out the music and speaks it's direction extremely louder than music was playing. Anyone know if there is a seperate setting for the Nav's volume?
2) When listening to panda and I receive a call, panda goes silent but there is no ringtone. at first i thought panda was buffering but when i looked down at the phone I had an incoming call. Normal? Did I dumb thumb something?
I don't think it would be a big problem when it is in the car dock but I haven't used it. On the windshield it's too far away and my car doesn't have any flat surfaces close to the driver. Last thing, with this setup phone call audio comes through the car speakers and with phone on the passenger seat my caller said the call clarity was better than my last phone.
Can anyone please comment on the audio quality through the 3.5mm headphone jack on the Droid? I will be using Skullcandy Titans which are in-ear earphones with noise isolation. I am hoping it is at least as good as that through my iPod nano 4th gen. I know that isn't an amazing benchmark but I'll be satisfied if it sounds at least that good with high-quality audio stored on the SD card. Speaking of SD card, do they still pack in the 16GB MicroSD card with Droids these days?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a pair of in the ear headphones with mic that's in between the apple headphones and bose ones? I've looked into the bose headphones, but that's alot of money to go into some wired headphones.. Does anyone have them, can you say they're worth getting for that cash? I use my phone alot for music, so good headphones are important.
View 36 Replies View RelatedHaven't been around these parts in awhile, but news of the update brought me back. I have a question about an issue I've had since day 1, but always just kind of accepted. When I listen with headphones to podcasts, music, etc. I get weird signal noise. It's most noticeable when listening to podcasts/talk as there is lots of room to hear the noise on the line. It's like low little hums, "chirps," not totally sure how to describe it. Just not a clean, clear silence when there should be silence. I've used different headphones, definitely not anything there. I'm wondering if this is a known issue, a problem with some handsets, fixable, etc.?

I have been trying it out the last few days and have noticed "crackling" in the left speakers. If i fiddle with the Aux cable that plugs into the phone it clears up. But as soon as I let go its back. Has any1 else had this problem? Is the only fix to return the phone? I have a 39/09 btw.

RR is 2010.
Having trouble to get the headphones to work consistently with my DX. I've only gotten it to work once and I have no idea how I did it...When the headphones are plugged in I can hear the caller but they can't hear me, but once I unplug the headphones the normal mic input on the phone works correctly and the caller can hear me just fine. Are there settings that I need to adjust in order for the iphone headphones to work with DX?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my kyocera rise and everything was fine until I decided to install beats audio. My first mistake before installing the drivers was not backing up anything, yes I know that's bad. Okay so I installed the drivers with beats audio from the market then rebooted. Now I have no sound at all. No ring no music nothing. And my phone is running a lot worse now. Now come to find out apparently beats audio is not removable. The drivers can't be removed. I really need sound. Is there a way to unroot and completely factory reset the phone through factory settings?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an .avi file with a 5.1 audio stream, but the stream is messed up - most of the sound is coming out of the FR channel, because it was improperly encoded from a mono or stereo source. I can watch the video ok on a pc if I use gomplayer and set up AC3 decoder to downmix to mono - the audio from all channels is mixed and played through L and R channels of headphones.
The Question is:
Does android have an app or a plugin to downmix to mono audio, for Nexus 7?
I know Voodoo control panel can do this, but it doesn't work with N7.
I also tried a number of players - mx player, mobo player pro, moboplayer, dice player, vplayer, rock player lite, bs player. There may have been a few more I don't recall at the moment.None of these players have the option to downmix to mono.
this is mu 2nd hero phone and both will now not allow sound to come through headphone. At 1st the sound comes through great then np sound at all through headphones.
Today at lunch, I am walking outside aneto into 7-11 andfeel my phon3 vibrare and then no sound throuth the headphones. It's like the headphones are muted. When headphones are plugged in there is no symbol showing heaephones are plugged in.
i'm on Galaxy S3 with Sotmax Rom V15. when trying to hear music through the headphone jack (no matter the HF brand) the music (and all sounds) are muffled. like it's 5.1 or 7.1 output into a stereo device. the singer sounds distant and the background channels are in front. there's no bass, mainly treble. when listening through the speaker it's sounds fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk we all know that our evo music playback on headphones is ridiculously low especially if you coming from the iPhone, but today I found Astro player beta which have some good equalizer that can boots your audio output to new level, even louder than the iPhone 4 output with the same headphones,so try it out and keep in mind its still in beta stage so it force close a lot but it doesn't affect music playback when it does that.

To make it worst, I now cannot sync to upgrade the software. I did a master reset, and the headphone logo is still active. All I did was switch off my phone and turn it back on, this happen.
View 12 Replies View Relatedis that possible (at least theoretically) to get working steaming audio to wireless and wired headphones simultaneously [Android 4]? It doesn't matter, if you steam the whole system sound or just sound of single program (for example music player). The idea is to get audio output on 2 devices at the same time. If that is not possible, can confirm possibility to steam audio using A2DP to 2 separate headsets? I've met some old devices (for example samsung cell phones on their own OS) which allowed to select multiple bluetooth devices as clients and steam music from the player simultaneously to multiple headsets.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been reading these forums for a while now, and some of these posts are the reason I got a Galaxy myself, imported from Germany
So far I totally love it, but there's this small issue that made me register and finally make a post here.
My previous phone was an Apple iPhone, but I dropped it so the screen broke, and I didn't bother with trying to fix it, so I decided to try something new.
Now, what I loved about the iPhone was the headset/handsfree that came with it. It's the best I've tried so far, and that's why I really wanna use it instead of the crap one Samsung bundled with the Galaxy.
Now here's the problem:
When I use the Apple headset with my Galaxy, the vocals on music doesn't play, unless I press and hold the answer/hang up/shuffle button on the handsfree. And because of this, it does ofcourse not work as a answer/hang up button. The bundled handsfree works as it should, with normal sound, and buttons.
I have no idea if this is a hardware 3.5mm issue, or a software issue, but all I know is the Apple headset works fine on my brother's HTC Hero, which makes me believe it's less likely to be a software issue.
I'm also reluctant of buying another handsfree, incase the Galaxy only works with the bundled one.
Oh, almost forgot, if it's of any use, I'm running the II5 firmware, updated through NPS.
Not sure if anyone has had this issue. I was listening to music through the headphones jack and when I unplugged it I get no sound at all. No sound in calls or anything. The only way for me to get sound now is via headphones jack, anyone know how to fix this?

Anyone else have this problem?
My Xperia X10 play the ringing sound in external speakers and headphones when I have the headset connected. The same happens when I use headphones and car navigation, the sound coming out of the external speaker and headset simultaneously. If I use Bluetooth or regular headphones, the experience is the same.

So it was like having headphones with a mic without having it.
