HTC Incredible : How To Hide Text Messages?
May 19, 2010Was wondering if there was a way to prevent text messages from certain people from populating the default messaging application for the Incredible. I realize that Handcent does this, but I am not the biggest fan of this on the Incredible, I really did enjoy it on the Droid though. On the topic of Handcent's blacklist, does this block text messages from people on the blacklist or does it just hide them?

Jul 26, 2010I have a context menu that starts to do some calculations when you press one of the context menu items.While the calculations are made I have a progressbar that I want to show. The progressbar is called from the calculations() method. The problem is that I can only see the context menu while the calculations are being made and the phone is more or less frozen.

Nov 18, 2010I have a context menu that I apply for a ListView that simply allows the user to move items up or down, or delete the item.
I have code in onContextItemSelected() to prevent things from moving up past top or bottom of the list, etc., but I'd rather hide the context menu items in the first place if (for instance) the top item in the list is selected.
I assume that I need to do this in onCreateContextMenu, but I'm not sure how.

HTC Eris :: Phone Sends Blank Text Messages / Phone Faulty - Can Change?
Nov 23, 2009I was surprised that I really couldn't find much on this, but I can't be the only one with the problem. My Droid Eris is sending blank text messages repeatedly. Is the phone faulty or is there some setting that I can change. I downloaded ChompSMS hoping that would fix it, but it doesn't appear to. When I open my text messaging program, many times it will send a blank text to the last person I texted. The other day, I turned the phone off and turned it back on and it sent a blank text at the exact time I turned it on.

Jan 13, 2010My Hero (latest Tmobile firmware version) is getting really slow, and I'm thinking of doing a factory reset on it. However, I would like to export the text messages, into CSV format or similar. Any readable format would do. I have always done this with my Nokia phones before. Does anyone know a way to do this? I like the phone (besides the camera) but it is getting slow, despite using taskiller, only installing about 7 market apps ever, and clearing the cache of those apps regularly.

General :: Trying To Transfer Text Messages To New Phone
Feb 12, 2013My wifes ZTE Blade 1 phone broke (graphics chip broke) but have a spare ZTE Skate. Luckily I have a clockworkmod image of the broken phone & have extracted the data from it to get the mmssms.db & telephony.db files.
However, when I paste them over the exsiting files (have root etc) & reboot I get force close errors & have to replace the old files back.
There is no way to boot the old phone & backup the messages - the only way to get the messages back is to get the mmssms.db to work.

May 7, 2010Hey, I was playing around with my Incredible today, and to my dismay I have made it so my phone does not vibrate when I receive text messages.
I looked through all the other threads and they didn't help.
I've gone through the sms settings and turned vibration "on"
I even have it in vibrate mode. that didn't work.
regular mode. didn't work.
I fixed it just in case anyone else runs into this problem:
Download "sound manager" open the app, click your "menu" button and click "vibrate options"
You'll see that vibration notifications are turned off.

General :: How To Get Text Messages From Phone With Dead Screen
Jul 1, 2013People are still sending me texts even though I can't read them. I can still hear notification sounds. I've gotta get a replacement quick, but I also need to get the important texts I missed. Is there any way I can get them through my mac?
To be clear, the screen is completely blank but I can still unlock it via touch pattern. It takes a few tries but Android File Transfer on the mac will tell me if it can or can't connect. If it can't, I just try again and I can get it. So the touch part still works, it just doesn't show any information.
The phone is a Galaxy Nexus. When I connect it to my Mac, I can see the files in it via the Android File Transfer window. However, I can't find the texts here.
I have the Android SDK installed and I was told I can do this: adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db..However the device shows up as offline when I do adb devices. I can't figure out a way get it showing up as online without being able to use the screen.

May 21, 2010so today my htc desire has decided that it won't send any text messages.phone calls work, signal is fine, but whenever i send a text it just buzzes and says it's unable to send. i last successfully sent a text yesterday (20th may) at 23:39. haven't installed any apps since or anything like that.i am very frustrated. this is basic stuff here that a phone should be able to do. anyway, eventually it gives up and tells me:"Unable to send message after multiple attempts."

I tried everything and finally resorted to doing a factory reset, now everything is working, and I am receiving all the messages I was supposed to get during the period it wasn't working. Basically when someone sends me a text message, I can see the first part of it on the screen that shows the various text conversations that I am having with people BUT when I click on that particular conversation, the text message isn't there. To give an example, my husband and I have been texting a lot tonight and I have the text conversation up to about 2 hours ago, but none of the messages since then are visible (although the first line of the last one he sent to me is visible on the main text message screen).
