Since i root my Hero I'm facing with a many problems: one is I can't assign ring tones to my contacts. i was trying any ring tone from my music, from zedge download, but useless. in contact details is showing the chosen ring tone, but when is calling it will ring default! any advices? does somebody facing with this problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedTotally new to "smart phones" and feeling pretty dumb right now I have managed to download a bunch of sounds (mpga) and saved them in my "sounds" folder on my Captivate. And following advice, have gone into my Contacts, scrolled down, and assigned a file as ringtone, then hit "Save". When viewing the contact, it shows the file as being assigned as their ringtone. And then when the call comes in.... Rings as default. Whats going on? Do the sounds have to be in the Ringtone folder? If yes, how do I do that? If no, what am I doing wrong?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my previous phone I could set different ringtones for those in my contacts list and then another ringtone for those numbers not in my contacts list so I could tell by the ringtone if someone was calling that was in my contacts list or not.On the Hero there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.I was also able to set different volume levels for various notifications (ie, louder for phone calls and quieter for email and sms notifications).Does anyone know if this is possible on the hero?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had this problem in 2.1v2, I installed v3, and it first, all was well, then yesterday I noticed the same thing...none of my custom set ring tones are being used. phone always rings with the system default.
I can change that, and it rings that tone, but any I assign to a contact don't work.
I haven't installed any ring tone managers or anything, I can't think of what would be messing with it, but it is friggin annoying!
I'm a UK Xperia user (Orange is my provider); Can i assign my own personal ringtones to Text messages or am i stuck with the defaults on the phone ? I cant find a way of assigning personal music files to text messages, only ringtones.

I can set the default ringtone to something different and that works, but when I try to change it for one specific contact it still play the default one. I have tried changing it in the contact it self, i changed it from the app i downloaded, and i even set it using the music player. I don't know if it is something wrong with the phone or if its is something with 2.1. For some reason it wants me to create yet another ringtone from the already created one if I want to assign it to a contact again.I cant seem to find the option to just assign a ringtone to a contact.I think installing Zedge as well may have wiped my existing custom ones I did.Is there not a way in the system to assign ringtones to contacts without an app? I've googled and done searches and manually looked through the threads here on AF I even checked the documentation the X came with. My Fiancee just got the X and was setting it up and she was looking for a way to set up individual ringtones for certain contacts the way she had them set up on her Droid but there doesn't seem to be an option to do it on the X. Does anyone happen to know anything about this?
