View 7 RepliesI have looked around for a fix but haven't found any yet. When I create trimmed ringtones via the htc trimmer and assign them to a contact, they will work fine until I reboot the phone. I tried some fixes like moving the ringtones to the SD card and that has allowed the phone to find them upon reboot but it will not put the tones back with the contacts. Is there a way to permanently stick the ringtone to the contact so they don't un-link after a reboot?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to assign custom ringtones for few people. I did go to People -> click contact name that I want to change -> under Information tap, click Ringtone -> change ringtone -> After I pick custom ringtone -> Click OK button. Simple and Easy. But, when I test with another phone that I already assign ringtone, it doesn't work!
I thought that it didn't save it, but it was still pointing my custom ringtone. Well, second thought that my custom ringtone might be working, so I go to Setting -> Personalize -> change default ringtone for same MP3 file. it works! However, I couldn't make it for specific contact. Is there any thing that I did it wrong or should I turn on or off something?
How do i attach photos to my contacts in my phonebook?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn my previous phone I could set different ringtones for those in my contacts list and then another ringtone for those numbers not in my contacts list so I could tell by the ringtone if someone was calling that was in my contacts list or not.On the Hero there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.I was also able to set different volume levels for various notifications (ie, louder for phone calls and quieter for email and sms notifications).Does anyone know if this is possible on the hero?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the phone 2 days ago and I am having problems getting custom ringtones for contacts. I can set the default ringtone to something different and that works, but when I try to change it for one specific contact it still play the default one. I have tried changing it in the contact it self, i changed it from the app i downloaded, and i even set it using the music player. I don't know if it is something wrong with the phone or if its is something with 2.1. I went back to best buy where i got it and the one of the workers said the same thing happened to his hero and incredible when he updated to 2.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find the option other than create a whole new ringtone in Ringdroid. I've already created the ringtone in that! For some reason it wants me to create yet another ringtone from the already created one if I want to assign it to a contact again.I cant seem to find the option to just assign a ringtone to a contact.I think installing Zedge as well may have wiped my existing custom ones I did.Is there not a way in the system to assign ringtones to contacts without an app? Or a simple app to do it?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI normally don't like making new threads to ask questions about stuff if the info is already out there, but unfortunately, I can't seem to find the info I'm looking for anywhere. I've googled and done searches and manually looked through the threads here on AF I even checked the documentation the X came with. My Fiancee just got the X and was setting it up and she was looking for a way to set up individual ringtones for certain contacts the way she had them set up on her Droid but there doesn't seem to be an option to do it on the X. Does anyone happen to know anything about this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedPicked up my Droid this morning and cannot figure out how to set a ringtone for calls received from a contact. I can set the general ringtone, but not any contact-specific ringtones. The manual (page 21) says it is doable: "Tip: When editing a contact, you can set a ringtone, address, and other details that will be saved on your phone."but I find nothing in the edit contact screen that lets me select a ringtone for it.Can anyone give me the steps?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a new member; I've had my Fascinate for about 2 weeks.Last night I tried to do something that seems simple: set a song as a ringtone for a specific contact. The procedure is given on page 75 of the manual. But it doesn't work. When I try it, I get a screen that says to press Menu and touch "Get friends" or "Accounts". But pressing Menu does nothing.I've gone through and activated sync for all accounts (and run sync multiple times), and my contacts DO all show up when I select "Contacts" from the home screen, but the manual's procedure still fails as described above.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI set ringtones to contacts individually for my frequent callers. However, when they call, i get only the default ringtone. I tried various apps like ringdroid, ringtone maker etc.., but none of them fixed it.
I am just wondering if there is any place to look internally in Android and make changes to this. Like some configuration/framework file that will play specific ringtones assigned to them.
