HTC EVO 4G :: Flash Player - Cannot Play Video Unable To Connect To Server
Jul 19, 2010At first, I believe there was a question that would pop up asking me whether I wanted to use youtube or not, but I must have said don't ask anymore, because I don't get that now (is there a way to get that question back?). Now when I click on a flash file, I get a choice to download or play. I click play, and the screen goes black. There is some sort of spinning 'loading' graphic, then I get a popup that says "Cannot play video Unable to connect to server". This happens on any of the major video sites.

Nov 7, 2010I've experienced quite a lot of problems with the WiFi after updating the Andriod. Everytime I try to connect to my home-network i get that it failed to connect.
The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.

Jul 2, 2010Iam connecting 3G phone for my Android device for internet connection and another Socket(SPP) for CAN signal receiving.Whenever I manually connect to the Bluetooth tethering via 3G phone, i can browse internet perfectly and speed is good.Whenever programmatically connect to the 3G connection, i couldn't browse internet.i checked in shell and observing that in my mobile 'device is connected' message displayed and E symbol appears.No problem for me to connect Socket.But I got problem to use 3G phone.For this iam using APN/DUN mode.I checked both but no use.Is there any performance issue here or anything wrong to connect different devices by using Bluetooth API in android.Why this happends while connecting Mobile programmatically.

Jul 25, 2010I have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook).To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)

My husband has an Instict and sent me a 20 second video of our daughter and when I tried to open it, I got a photo that said "Video too large to view on this device". Nov 20, 2010I am doing a video based course, and what is infuriating about playing video on my Android is that you have to watch each segment (up to 40 minutes) in one go, as the next time you play the clip it will restart and fast forward does not work (it forwards for less than a second and then jerks back). What would be really handy would be if I could put a bookmark every time I have to stop the video file (such as when I have to get off my train), and return to the same place the next time I open it. Android :: Cannot Playback Video From Internal Storage - Data-data-com.myapp-some-folders-video.mp4
Aug 4, 2010I have an application with a lot of media data (images and videos) that were previously stored on the sdcard. With that, images and videos are displayed fine in my app.
Now, in order to secure the content more, I wanted to move the content to the internal storage / data dir of the app, which I did. I copied all media with a routine within my app to the data folder (/data/data/com.myapp/some/folders/video.mp4) and adjusted the path in my app so that it would look for the media in the internal storage data directory and not the sdcard anymore.
Everything works fine, images are being displayed (decoded) properly, but videos don't play. They files do exist though - I do not get a FileNotFound exception. But an IOException: java.io.IOException: Prepare failed.: status=0xFFFFFFFC
Why is that? Everything is handled within my one app and the videos have been copied with the same routine as the images, thus having the same permission settings. Looking at the stack trace, it all runs in process id 18060).
Why I cannot playback the video from internal storage? Or how can I?

May 3, 2010I know this is not a big deal but it is still bothersome. When I try to run video while on Yahoo's site I get message "Cannot play video - Sorry this video cannot be played." I have no issues with ESPN, Cnet, etc. I'm able to run these yahoo videos on my wife's Eris with 2.1 (v.3).
