send images to the TV or PCscreen. Howevevr I am thinking that sometimes could be very interesting the opposite case, I mean .... send video (or static images) from PC to the android phone screen.And I am not talking about sending only image data file.

The default android video player and the other one provided by my vendor display clear banding when playing videos. The video itself is fine because when played with BSPlayer with HW experimental there is no banding visible.
The videos are played through the MediaPlayer interface of Android. I am still not sure if it is a dithering issue or a surface format issue. I tried different modifications to the player/machine without success.
1. Build.prop settings: persist.sys.use_dithering=1 (tried 2 as well) and video.accelerate.hw=1
2. Adding the dither flag with addFlags( WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DITHER )
3. Making sure the surfaces are in RGBA_8888 with setFormat of surfaces
4. Forcing dithering in View.smali of framework.jar
How I could fix this issue with the default player. Wondering if it could be related to drivers or native code.

I subscribed to JetFlix, in the market. (Jetflicks! TV - Android app on AppBrain) It is a $3 app with a $10/month subscription. I watch it on my phone in my car at the lake during my lunch break. I know that probably sounds sad, but it is AWESOME. I'm a manager in the dang corporate world, and I forget that I am at work by the time I'm done with a movie and come on back to the office. It's my dirty little secret. ANYWAY, there are some great shows available on this application, and I was thinking of replacing my Netflix subscription with it if I could just stream it to my TV at home. I haven't bought an HDMI cable yet, because I don't have a use for one just yet. But is anything "streamable" to the tv? I read that only pictures and videos that were shot with the camera stream though the HDMI cable. If that is the case, what is the point? I keep all that stuff on a hard drive anyway. So my question: can I hook up an HDMI cable and stream Jetflicks to my TV? The Jetflicks movies play on the native Internet browser. So I guess a more accurate question would be: Does the native internet browser display on the TV through the HDMI cable? If so, is there audio?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an Android Smart TV Box (to replace my AC Ryan media box which gave up the ghost a few days ago) and it mostly works fine - it is connected to my tv via hdmi and the box is hard wired to my router - so it is the standard connection setup. I have two usb hard drives connected to it. I obviously want to drag and drop media files from my phone (android) or my laptop (Windows7) to the connected hard drives I use ES Explorer app on my phone and Windows explorer but using either version I cannot see the Android box wirelessly - if i do a scan using es explorer it finds the laptop straight away and i can drag and drop but it just will not find the android box at all. However if i go onto the Android box and into the es explorer app and do a scan it picks up the laptop and i can drag and drop a file onto the laptop. So the wireless is sort of working as opposed to not at all. But just seems odd that i cant see it at all - i cant even ping it from the laptop.

I can't connect to 127.0.0.1 from the android app! i got ECONNREFUSED.
After a bit of google i understood that JavaVM have a separate network and it filter out my connection to localhost/127.0.0.1.
how can i connect to a service bind to 127.0.0.1 on my phone from an android app?
I gave a quick look at iptables -L output, maybe i can make some hack there, but probably i will break the JavaVM network.
Binding on wifi ip is not an answer.
Im looking for a Android powered GSM phone that will automatically turn itself back on if the battery is dead and power is reconnected.
I want to stash this in my vintage automobile and use tracking software to locate the vehicle in the unfortunate event its stolen. The only issue I need to solve is if the battery dies and the phone turns off how to turn it back on automatically. I plan to put the device in the door panels so access will be difficult.

At first, I believe there was a question that would pop up asking me whether I wanted to use youtube or not, but I must have said don't ask anymore, because I don't get that now (is there a way to get that question back?). Now when I click on a flash file, I get a choice to download or play. I click play, and the screen goes black. There is some sort of spinning 'loading' graphic, then I get a popup that says "Cannot play video Unable to connect to server". This happens on any of the major video sites.

View 12 Replies View RelatedDownloaded CM6 R1 for Hero onto SD Card (had Fresh ROM) and then flashed CM 6 and Google apps as per instructions.
Everything seems top work well except that the phone/SD Card is not recognized when connected to computer with USB.
I found this out when I went to try tethering and PDA Net. Neither worked and then I realized the phone is not being recognized by the computer.
My computer at work tried to load some ADB drivers but errored out.
When I connect the phone to either of my 3 computers I either get no popup or a popup saying do you want to load ADB drivers (which errors out).
My Samsung S3 had broken power switch (hypersensitive) and it's fixed now - they did factory reset etc and now that I am trying to set up things back I cannot connect to my google account - it says that I have input incorrect login details but I am 100% sure its correct because it works on PC. I did password reset from my cell.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an LG Optimus S that I am trying to root, however I can't get it to connect to my PC. My brother has the same device and his connects fine right away to my system, however mine does nothing but charge when connected (used same drivers, PC, chord, etc.)
I tried restoring it to factory settings and no luck. Later took it to Sprint and he just re-updated the software and it connected right away to their PC. Then as soon as I got home it didn't connect again.
Also tried with my work laptop. His connects, mine doesn't. Could there be a reason why mine didn't work as soon as I got back from the store?
I made sure that the settings from by brothers phone matched mine and verified that the software is identical.
