I wanted to load up an A-DATA 16GB Class 6 card with music tonight so I can listen to music at work on the Evo tomorrow at work after i pick up phone in the morning...my questions is, since my PC (Windows 7) didn't need to format the card, will the phone need to do any formatting?

I just picked up a 32GB card from the verizon deal. How should the card be formatted? FAT? FAT32?From what I heard is there a size limitation on either? I heard 2GB but I was hoping I could store a larger file (HD videos)

I know how to flash the ROM back to the Stock, but, how do I re-format/prepare my MicroSD card in the phone back to it's factory settings?
And is there anything else that anyone thinks I will need to do in preparation for selling it?

View 38 Replies View Relatedj thought i'd give every one the heads up that today a mass email was sent out telling all RS employees how to reformat the SD card. i cant imagine them opening up every box before launch and doing so. but my guess is they want this done when you boot up the device in store. i did it to mine today and only took all of 20 seconds. dont worry you an still ask them not to and take it home and do it.

When I connected it to the computer, I tried formatting it through there and when I click on format (Using Windows 7 32-bit), it tells me there is no drive at drive F: Does anyone have any ideas? I used to have a microSD converter so I could use it in a card reader but I don't know where its gone too, and don't know if it would help anyways.

I rooted my Incredible a few days ago for the first time and installed Cyanogen mod. Everything is going well, but I do have one question. When I connect my phone to my pc, my sd card comes up but phone storage doesn't. When I click on the phone storage, it asks me to format the drive to be able to use it. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that in the People app, the phone numbers are formatted like this: (xxx) yyyzzzz but phone numbers that are used in message fields such as "Send Message" are formatted (xxx) yyy-zzzz. Is there any way to have the phone numbers formatted using the dash? Why, you ask? Because it's easier to read when you are looking up a phone number to give to someone; and I'm old, so don't laugh at me! GMail's contacts formats them all with a dash, but I can't find a way to make the Hero do so.

Im running CM's latest, and just like the stock ROM, phone numbers stored in the phone have the xxx-xxx-xxxx US format. This format does not apply to most countries outside of the US. So here when someone calls (or when im trying to add a new contact) phone numbers tend to look weird since phone numbers here have an XX-XXX-XXX format (8 digits total), and so they end up showing as XXX-XXX-XX, which is just confusing.
So in short, is there any way to stop the dashes from showing up in the call log/ caller id/adding new contact form??
So I put my 32gb lexar sd card into my Samsung galaxy discover and my phone said the sd card was blank and it needed to be formatted so I tried to format it but it froze my phone I had to pull the battery out then when I tried to turn it on it just gets stuck at the logo screen.

I've gone over the code a few times and can't find anything that could damage an SD card. All that happens that involves external storage is the saving of streams as images, which then get read into ImageView's.

So heres the issue. I've been dying to get myself an android phone for a while now, but no carriers in my country (Ireland) have any affordable ones. So I've been shopping around online. I've found a faulty one on ebay. Its fine except it keeps saying "No Sim Card"
So I was wondering, has anyone had this issue before? And is it something I could repair, or should I keep looking?
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this. Have a droid. But am traveling to europe lots. Would like to have a phone that I can just put a pre paid Sim card in. Must be a GSM quad band phone, and I need to have it unlocked to take a pre paid sim card. Am only used to VZW as that is what I have had. Would the google phone do this, or can I unlock a TMO phone. If so, how do I do this. Also, would it be able to get data as well as voice if I purchased a sim with those capabilities.

Is anyone aware of a wallet app that uses the phone's camera to scan cards for backup? i don't really relish the idea of manually entering all my card nos. and info when the camera scanner function works so well recognizing business cards.
you know, I'd like to slap my credit card on the table, open the app and scan the card. the app should recognize the cc logo (mc, visa, discover, etc), card no., exp. date and prompt me for the verification no. on the back.
the app should be able to recognize most of the card types that people typically keep in the wallets: drivers license, library card, health ins, auto ins., loyalty cards. for those that it doesn't recognize by scan, the user should be able to select from a list or enter a "custom" type.
i haven't found anything like this. does one exist?

Im running a 16gb thats so full its bursting!! But the phones still very smooth and slick between track selections. Has anyone got a 32gb and does it slow things down??

They are saved on my SD card an i have put my old SD card into the phone and have found my music files using mediascape... however i don't know how to take them from the SD card an store them on the phones memory so i can put my new&bigger SD card into the phone.
