Has anybody found a cheap supplier of 32gb cards?
Im running a 16gb thats so full its bursting!! But the phones still very smooth and slick between track selections. Has anyone got a 32gb and does it slow things down??

Is this to do with the size of the card or the make an also will this affect performance of the phone?

It is actually 31.7gb according to my laptop. when i put it in my desire, it will not see it, or just tells me that the sd card needs formatting, then won't format it. Is this because the card is too slow,or is it an OS problem,that will be resolved when Froyo is released?
View 14 Replies View RelatedThis is happening on HTC Desire. perfectly OK 32GB disk ( been running on my old smatphone for 15 months) and put in Desire and it showed only 16GB. Reformatted disk and still only 16GB. according to HTC docs, the Desire supports 32GB
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finally got my 32gb from play.com through the post. Now after reading again froyo saves the app on the sd card but saves the extra user data etc I think on internal memory so what's the point in that? Now I'm just thinking of going all the way once and for all. At the moment I am running the standard 4gb card on my unbranded o2 with the devillian rom, but I found this rom freezes sometimes abit, like windows, you click on something it freezes then a couple seconds later comes back to life plus the flash player and browser seems to be worse than stock. So I'm moving away from this one. Open for recommendations, but I'm leaning towards the one lekky is using (defrost?) as I think that is known to be well.Instead of doing it myself and going awol searching on the interwebs, jumping on the ever stressful rooting/rom merry go round and crawling into a fetal position rocking back and forth when things don't go to plan I thought I should post on here first and listen to your recommendations.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have installed my new 32gb card into my desire and transferred my music collection (about 20gb) across via my pc but when I try to play them not all are available. They appear to be on the card as when I check the contents of the card on the pc in explorer they are all there and if I check the folders using the phone again they are showing on the card.
But when I go to select a song to play from the stock player there are only 100 songs to choose from which is very strange as there should be over 2000 easily. Interestingly when I switched the phone off and back on again I had about 700 to choose from which is still not right. Do I need to do anything with the vcard before installing (for example I didn't format it)? For info I needed to set up a new folder called MP3 on the new card when I installed it and dragged them into this folder so presume that was correct?
I'm shopping for an unlocked HTC Desire. One retailer says the phone's memory goes up to 16gb, the other says 32gb.
Are there two versions of this phone?

Here's the requirements I'm looking for: - Support GSM - Single SIM slot or eSIM (3G preferred but not required) - Support GPS - Support BlueTooth - Optionally have an accelerometer - No display (this is an embedded device) - Would be willing to provide my own packaging (raw boards would be ok) I've debated taking the guts out of old G1s for this project. But if there is a specific device that meets my needs all the better. If there's any Manufacturers out there that have Android phone "guts" available, let me know too.
I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice for my possible plan of grabbing a fairly cheap (under �120 so I think that's about $180) HTC handset, preferably with a good size screen as I like to spend far too long online on my current phone (!), and install Android on it!
So... how easy is this? Is there a recommended phone or small range of phones within my price bracket? And... are there disadvantages, and do I get automatic updates and stuff? I'm a fairly heavy medium-term Linux and Ubuntu user but this is my first adventure with Android!
Just got my HTC Desire and previously had a Nokia E71. I want to use the 16gb sd card from my E71 in my Desire but what do I have to do to keep from losing info, and app info that's already on my Desire sd card? Is there a program that backs it up completely? I've heard that some people have switched just by copying onto PC and then back onto the new card, but have had problems with application data etc. Also, is the 16gb card going to run really slowly? Slowed down my E71 a bit but I'm assuming the Desire could cope much better?

In the past every other phone I have put a larger card in (most recently a blackberry curve) slow down massively when a larger card is put in (in the case of the blackberry 1gb to 8gb). Does this happen with the desire? If so is there any way to stop it as I want the storage but don't want to lose the performance?

I've got an older car with a fairly basic Bluetooth system. It won't download the phone's phonebook automatically but I can put it into receive mode and then I need to work out a way to send all my contacts as business cars.
So I have my X in a cheap hard case till outterbox makes one. Has anyone dropped their phone yet? If so, how did it hold up? was there any damage?

I've gone over the code a few times and can't find anything that could damage an SD card. All that happens that involves external storage is the saving of streams as images, which then get read into ImageView's.

So heres the issue. I've been dying to get myself an android phone for a while now, but no carriers in my country (Ireland) have any affordable ones. So I've been shopping around online. I've found a faulty one on ebay. Its fine except it keeps saying "No Sim Card"
So I was wondering, has anyone had this issue before? And is it something I could repair, or should I keep looking?
i am using sense 2.2 rom on my rooted htc hero with no problems on my 16gb microsdhc card. however when i used a kingston 32gb microsdhc i just purchased i can't seem to get it to work. i have formatted the sd card on my computer then i partitioned the card the same way i did with my 16gb card, then i partitioned ext2 to ext3 but when i restarted my phone with the 32gb card inside the screen was stuck on the htc logo. can anybody help please?

Must be a GSM quad band phone, and I need to have it unlocked to take a pre paid sim card. Am only used to VZW as that is what I have had. Would the google phone do this, or can I unlock a TMO phone. If so, how do I do this. Also, would it be able to get data as well as voice if I purchased a sim with those capabilities.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden going into "handle programs" in settings on my HTC Desire force closes com.android.settings. BAM! I've tried rebooting several times, no difference. Even tried uninstalling the last application I installed but it still force closes. Now uninstalling through the market works fine, so it does through the astro program handler, but why does my core settings app all of a sudden crash bigtime?I've not rooted the device and I don't have much fishy stuff on it, the most fishy thing I guess is the HTC IME modded keyboard from jonasl that adds the microphone button and a milllion other neafty tricks. I'm not sure if this started happening then or later.
