View 18 RepliesSo recently I got lack of internal memory(it is only 512MB though) and I tried to swap internal memory with microSD(marked as sdcard2). However, Im noob in this and after changing the lines I understood, that I changed sdcard with sdcard2(swapped sdcard and sdcard2), however, my android system seems to be not working now. I can boot and access settings, but thats all. No menu, no apps, no anything. Empty screen, only settings accessible. I cannot access any files or anything...
What I tried:
- Connecting phone to PC as I have Android Commander program which can browse system files from pc, unfortunately, failed to connect.
- Factory reset. Didnt work.
- Recovery mode - tried all options that are available, didnt work.
The phone is Prestigio Multiphone PAP4300 DUO. When I boot to the phone, I unlock it and I get many messages saying com.android.phone, system and such things stopped working. When pressing HOME button, it goes to home, but its empty(empty screen) and tells Launcher stopped working too. All I can do is access the settings. Cant call anyone though.
What to say to warranty service when I will bring the phone to them. Can they recognize that its rooted/that the vold.fstab file is modified?
Specs: [URL] ......
That looks to be white, but mine is black. I rooted it only. Havent done any changes to the phone until yesterday - swap the memories.
The HTC Desire has limited memory of around 570Mb RAM and 512Mb ROM. The MicroSD card can hold up to 32Gb. So, why can't HTC allow apps be stored in MicroSD card? If HTC/Google's concerned about piracy issues, i.e. copies of apps from microSD card to another microSD card, etc. There is one way round to this problem: They could have installed some kind of unique crypto-key within the Desire's ROM, and any apps saved to the microSD card are automatically encrypted on-the-fly with this crypto-key.
When apps are accessed, it is decrypted on-the-fly, too. In other words, apps will ONLY work with THAT phone it shares the SAME crypto-key. Putting a microSD card containing apps into another Android phone will not work, thus solving the piracy issue. Therefore, a message to HTC: Please allow apps to microSD card (as much as 32Gb card) and BEAT iPhone/Nokia N900 at their game!
What type of memory do you need for the samsung? I've seen MicoSD HC MicroSD, which one is it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a Kingston MicroSDHC 8 GB for use in my xperia x10 mini/pro, to replace the default 2 GB card. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work.
I am a bit confused because in the specs on the SE webiste it says that the memory can be expanded up to 16 GB. If MicroSD has a maximum storage capacity of 2 GB and the phone can't handle MicroSDHC, how do I get more memory?
1) If i download a movie file of 700mb, avi, can i just transfer to my microsd or internal memory and play the file flawlessly? I needed to compress file to play on my bold, or it would be extremely choppy. Also, what about a 720p video quality movie? file size 1.4gb, will it be choppy?
2) Is there an app on android market for the android forums? one that will give notifications when replies or messages are sent? i know crackberry had one on the blackberry, but was really just a shortcut to their forums.
Every time I download a app it installs in phone memory and not internal memory.Where is the settings for this? I am switching over from windows mobile phone to my new incredible
View 1 Replies View RelatedA long time ago I had edited a file that is read on boot, in that file is written which one of the two 'partition' has to be mounted as what.
Basically, my 32GB microsd is seen as the internal memory of the device (which would be 12 GB), and the other one as micro sd. The result is that most application would go to the microsd by default, using thus 32GB for apps instead of 12GB.
This is because my microsd is failing. Changed with a new one, and now it is failing again. I suppose my phone has become a 'micro sd destroyer'. Cannot do anything about it, so better to use the internal memory instead of the card for main use..... So how do I switch back to normal mounting (micro sd as micro sd and internal memory as internal memory and not switched up) ?
My incredible alerted me to the news it was low on phone memory...checked my phone storage and it had about 540mb's or so of available memory. Has anyone else received this alert? I deleted a few apps I hardly use or tested and didn't like and the notification went away. Is this a glitch that's been talked about before and perhaps will be rectified on froyo?
View 2 Replies View Relatedprior to destroying it, I will be taking out the battery and other things I might need. One thing that will be useful until I get something of a larger size nature is the 8GB MicroSD card that came with the BlackBerry Storm One. What I need to know is if there is something I should do like reformat it prior to sticking it in the HTC Droid Incredible. I do not have an adapter to plug it into my laptop, but there might be a way to clear it out from the BlackBerry. I just don't want to "infect" my new phone with the crappiness that is my BBS1 phone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust picked up my Incredible earlier today. Was tired of waiting on Amazon so found the last remaining one at the Bestbuy instead. Anyway, they threw in a free 2GB SD card. I already bought a 8gig card. Should I return it? Will the 2gig be enough plus the phone memory? I know I'm being a little cheap but the extra cash wouldn't hurt.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm trying to update a 40MB app (SVOX US English Female Voice - Android app on AppBrain), but my phone is telling me "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item.". Could someone explain to me why I'm seeing this if the following is true? Phone looking at to decide that I do not have enough space? Looking at that information, I have plenty of space everywhere!
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow should I save the mp4 files to the phone memory instead of SD card? Do I just create a folder named "Movies" in the root directory of the phone and put the mp4's in there? Thanks
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust in case anyone wants to try this / if it has happened to anyone else. I didn't have a pre order for the Incredible but when I went in to exchange my current 10 day old phone for one the manager went to transfer the contacts over and apparently their machine cannot transfer anything to the internal Incredible memory. I received a free 2gb memory card to make up for it ($24.99 savings woot).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI cant figure out how to put music on my incredible...i have it plugged in via usb and i have the drivers and i do the debugging mode and i have set it to disk drive...
what else can i try so that i can see internal memory so i can put music on it?
If you are planning on buys a microSD card for your incredible just FYI make sure to get a class-6 high speed card.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have several avi files stored on the internal 8GB phone memory drive feature in my Incredible. Unfortunately, Rockplayer only accesses my 2GB micro SD card! Unsuccessful workaround I thought I could navigate to the 8GB drive via ASTRO, and then play the avi files, but Rockplayer show as a player option!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have like 640mbs available for memory, however when I try to check my messages I am getting an error message that my phone memory is full and that I need to delete some files, but I really don't anything on there.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there an app that lets you move files around from SD card to internal memory?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC incredible and a ton of free memory (579MB to be exact) but still getting this low space message.
I've cleared the browser cache and I've also removed some apps but the error is still there and I can't delete any new apps.
Should the incredible just automatically sync with my computer? When I had my droid I just plugged it in and the droid said " do you want to sync" and I choose yes and I could go into "my computer" and into my phones files to drag and drop files etc, this phone is not giving me that option.
Secondly how much memory should be available under phone memory? Mines has 701mbs available but nothing saved to the 16gb card I have. How do I move things currently saved to the phone under the memory card?
When I install it, are there files Android saved on my old microSD card I need to copy to my computer and transfer to the new card? It seems like most files are saved to the SD card rather than the internal memory for my apps and don't want to cause any issues when I put the new one in.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to access the internal storage memory using ES File Explorer? I have tried going up and down the folder hierarchy and can never find it.I've read that Astro File Manager can access it but I prefer using ES File Explorer and don't want to have two file managers on my DI.I am surprised at this stage of Android that a file explorer is not included in the OS.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Incred is on an infinite loop on all the startup screens. Just keeps saying droid and then the HTC brilliant screen and such over and over. This is the 2nd time it happened to me. First was replaced at no cost to me though some inconvenience. Problem is I have some pics/vids on the phone memory that I would like to grab before returning the phone again. Can anybody think of a way I could accomplish this? Would a verizon tech be any help? Just a few vids of my son that I would prefer to keep. Nothing life changing. I plugged the phone into the computer and looked for the drives on 'my computer'. They were listed but empty. I guess the phone keeps rebooting before they can be populated with stuff. Any shot of me getting a DX in replacement? Love my Dinc but have screen (size) envy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have any ideas on how to mount the microSD card to PC desktop other than to have pull it out of the Droid each time. Please advice
View 5 Replies View RelatedI know that a microSD card is included, but does the phone also support SDHC?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running one of the leaked 2.2 OTA Roms, everything has been working fine, except lately, as of a week or two ago, the phone won't mount as Disk Drive unless I reboot, and it wasn't a one time fix, I have to do this every time. I noticed that when I plug the phone into the computer, I don't get the message saying "Charge Only / HTC Sync / Disk Drive / Mobile Broadband Connect etc." And yes, I have it set to ask me every time, and I even set the default connection type to Disk Drive, and still I unplug it and plug it back in and nothing. I know it connected okay, the computer recognizes it as HTC Android device or whatever it calls it, and the orange light lights up on the phone showing that's it's charging, but in my computer all that pops up is a weird optical drive that I can't access.
