View 3 RepliesI bought a 16gb Class 6 card to replace the 8gb card that came with the EVO. I put some music/photos from my PC onto the new card and stuck it in the EVO. Everything seemed to go ok, but when I went to use the camera, it showed a black screen with what i think was a pic of an SD card for about a second then just closed the camera app and went to the home screen. Was I supposed to copy anything from the old card to the new one or do anything else before I switched? I just put the stock 8gb card back in the EVO for now until I figure out what I'm supposed to do.
View 10 Replies View RelatedOK new owner of an LG Ally. I want to get my photos and videos off my old sd card copied to my new, much larger sd card. I wont read in my pc unless I format it and I don't want to do that.
It's no doubt easy but it's making me crazy. System is a whole lot different than Im used to.
I was reading a while back someone's topic about if a microSD card can enhance the performance of HTC Hero. I'd love to look it up but I cant, this site isn't going well lately, and I'd have to reload each page 20times to get to actual topic.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm considering the possibility of selling my Behold 2 phone and getting something a little better supported (anything HTC, for example). I know how to flash the ROM back to the Stock, but, how do I re-format/prepare my MicroSD card in the phone back to it's factory settings?
And is there anything else that anyone thinks I will need to do in preparation for selling it?
I recently had a problem with my LG Spectrum that required a hard reset to restart the OS. I wasn't aware the photos were being encrypted. When the reset was done the phone required I enter a passcode. I entered every known passcode I have and still could not get the phone to recognize the photos on the microSD card. Is there a work around for this process? I have over a years worth of pictures on the microSD card. The LG Spectrum model is a VS920.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI formatted my card per Radio Shacks instructions but in hindsight I should have checked to see what came preinstalled first. I am fairly sure that the HTC Sync installation file was on there, but I think there was some music as the music widget had a song on it but after the format there wasn't anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to get a microSD card for my EVO by the 4th and I want to know what I should go for. I know Class 6 is the fastest, so that's what I thought I wanted to get and I wanted to get a 16gb but it looks like it's $80 on Amazon. Now, that's damn expensive for 16gb of storage and I'm not used to buying storage for my phone since I've had an iPhone. Is it worth it to drop to a lower storage capacity or a lower speed? How much of a difference does the transfer speed make on the phone? Does it hinder the speed of the phone at all? Also, for those lucky bastards that got the HTC EVO ahead of time, what kind of card comes with it?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there an application that will allow you to browse to a folder on your phone/SD care and view the photos inside? If it were on a linux PC I would be installing GThumb, on windows ACDSEE. I have tried Photo Burst. It crashes and I had to reset the phone. I have tried Picture Viewer but the latest version does not pan at all. The only way to do something like this with the stock viewer is to have all your photos in the root of the sdcard in folders or within download. Not really the neatest way of doing this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the storage location on my Incredible's camera from Phone Storage to Storage Card (i.e., my SD card). Yesterday I decided to move the previsouly taken photos "IMAG*.jpg" from the phone storage to the SD card and used the Astro app to perform this move. I made the mistake of using "move" rather than "copy-paste". Something went wrong and somehow none of the "imag*.jpg" that were previously on my phone's internal storage are neither there nor on the SD card.
Where could these files have disappeared to? Is there a "Trash" folder in Android like in Windows where these jpg files could be still hidden? Anyway to recover them? Using the search feature on Astro didn't reveal any of the newly disappeared jpg files.
Here's what I did using the Astro app:
step 1: navigated to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA
step 2: clicked on multi and selected all the jpg files there (about 15 or so), i.e., all file names turned orange.
step 3: clicked on Edit, selected Move.
step 4: navigated to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA which already had a few images that I had taken since changing the default storage location in my camera.
step 5: clicked on EDIT, selected Paste.
That's when I got a message saying "unable to move" or some such error - I don't recall the exact words and I had to click ok only for the same error to appear again some 15 more times. I guess it appeared once per image.
I went back to /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA (the phone storage location) and to /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA (SD card location) but the files aren't there in either location. Please note that I'm a noob to Android having only used Windows Mobile OS phones in the past. I appreciate any help and insight in this matter so that I don't loose files more important than some randomly taken pics.
With the problems I've been hearing about the SD card that's included with the EVO, I've been in a quandary over what to do: I have an 8GB Class 6 MicroSD Card that I believe trumps the included Class 2 card that comes with the EVO, so I expect I will move everything over to that card....which begs the following - I've copied over all the photos, videos, documents, and music from my card to my PC. Should I just reformat the SD card in the device, and then copy these files over? Could I just use the SD card as I have it currently set up (I have it in my Hero at this point, running 2.1). Or should I copy the contents of the new card to my PC, add the files from my old card to that, reformat my Class 6 card, and then copy the files from the PC to this card?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to buy a slightly bigger card for my hero, especially since apps2sd has stolen some of the space on my card now. This is the card I was thinking of going with, Play.com (UK) - Mobile - Free Delivery But since I've never purchased anything like this before, just wanted to check this is the right thing. It's listed as 'Micro SDHC Plus', but I take it that's just marketing spiel for plain old Micro SD rather than a different type of card?

Can I root with my current card (which has 650MB-ish available), and after rooting just purchase a new card and swap it out. Or would it be more advantageous to purchase the new SD card prior to rooting?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust in case anyone wants to try this / if it has happened to anyone else. I didn't have a pre order for the Incredible but when I went in to exchange my current 10 day old phone for one the manager went to transfer the contacts over and apparently their machine cannot transfer anything to the internal Incredible memory. I received a free 2gb memory card to make up for it ($24.99 savings woot).

I now have mine installed in my Captivate and the thing is great. I have 29GB of Music/Videos/Pictures loaded up on it and playing back ANYTHING on my phone is fast and doesn't stutter. I know I had some questions about this so I just wanted to post that yes, you CAN enjoy 48GB of space on a Captivate without worrying about Class size speed issues, worrying about the card being fake, etc. Well worth the 100 bucks. The money you can save from Wirefly/Amazon/Walmart etc can easily pay for this.
May I know what's the highest MicroSD card capicity supported by HTC
View 11 Replies View RelatedCan someone please tell me how to install apps directly onto the microSD card? Even brand new the HTC Desire seems to only have 100MB to download and install applications on so I find it much more sense being able to store and install them on a 32GB microSD card. My internal memory is full now and I barely have any apps installed on it yet have about 900 applications I can install so I at least want to put more on!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to start collecting MicroSD card benchmarks. If you have bought a MicroSD card for use in your Captivate, please help out.
To test:
Install the following:
SD Card Speed Tester - Android app on AppBrain
Run it several times to make sure you don't get a fluke low number (like from momentary activity). If your phone is idle, you should get consistent results.
Then, please post to this thread with the following:
Card brand/model
Capacity
"Class" rating
Write speed (MB/s)
Read speed (MB/s)
Although it's not made obvious, the author has updated this app so that on Galaxy S phones it appends sd/ to the test path in order to test the external card (if present).
