Anyone have any work around for this? Also if you are in the sense browser you cannot click on a phone number that has. instead of - and have it dial. you can on the basic Android browser.
It is these two things that kill sense for me. If anyone has any workarounds they would be much appreciated.

Was out today and called up some numbers for restaurants in the browser. I tried to copy the number from the browser so I could paste it into the dialer. I managed to get the number to the clip-board, but then I couldn't paste it into the dialer! I'm using a DSTL1 which only has soft keyboard and I can't get combinations of shift and menu to make it work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI think the Dialer is very powerful but I am unable to get it to recognize parts of a phone number. For example, most of my saved numbers include area codes (most of them are 'xyz'). When I type the first three of the 7-digit number (excluding the area code) no results show. It seems as though the area code must be typed in order to get results to show. Obviously, almost 95% of my contacts have an area code of 'xyz' and that's, IMO, too many buttons to press to start narrowing down to get a specific contact. Does anyone know how to change this?

All of my contacts have at least two phone numbers (mobile and work), for some contacts the voice dialer only lists one number and for others, it will list all of them.I thought it might have something to do with the designated 'primary' number, but changing that has no effect.When I ask the app to call my wife, it only shows her mobile number even though there are two other numbers in her contact info.Even if I say to call her "at work" the work number won't show up, only the mobile number.

I've also tried to copy the number and paste it in the phone app, however, it didn't seem to work. Is there another way? Or maybe I should use another browser?

For example- I work in music, and people frequently call or text asking for the phone numbers of cellists and violinists I know so they can hire them for recording sessions. "Sure," I reply, "I'll text the numbers to you." Then, I have to look up the numbers in my People app, write them down on a piece of paper (or on a notepad on my computer), and then write the names and numbers into a text message. That works for home, but when I'm on the road it really screws the process. Can I start the text message and then import the names and numbers as text? Assume I have a contact entry "John Doe" with both a Mobile and a Home number.
When I speak "John Doe", if the dialer can't correctly pinpoint the contact name (eg: "John Doe" vs "Jane Doe"), then it correctly shows me all of the numbers for both people. However, if it correctly matches to the exact name ("John Doe"), then it shows me only the primary number for "John Doe".
It doesn't matter whether I say "Call John Doe", "Call John Doe at Home", or "Call John Doe on Mobile". In all cases I just get a single number offered.
Coming from the DInc, I loved the copy and paste feature. It seems to be missing on the X. Or am I missing something.

I want to do some browser automation from my android phone. I have tasker, but that only gives me http post and http get operations. I do not think that these functions can do that.
Basicaly, I want to open a browser, go to a website, login. I would also like to automate this from a job scheduler. I can do a schedule with tasker.
However, when I google how to programmatically click buttons and send usernames and passwords, I can't find an application that has that functionality on the android. I may need to code it. When I google 'android automation' etc... I get selenium and other utilities that are run on a pc to test android applications. I do not see anything to manipulate browsers. iMacros is not out yet for android.
I basically just want to connect to a page, pass my username and password and do a perform click.
Is there any way to make the browser or any browser to be able to double click a web page. My work website requires double click but double tapping obviously changes the focus in android. Yes, the work website is a joke but that's besides the point.
Someone was able to write a program for iphone to do this but they won't for android. They are fanbois so no dice.
1. When I close out of the browser and come to it later, all of my previous tabs are still there. How can I set it up where when I re-open my browser, it starts out fresh and no previously opened tabs still there?

With Dolphin, I cannot long hold a picture and hit "Share". There's just a View and Save option. So to send to someone, I have to save it, and then send it. We encountered a strange problem in Browser. When browsing certain web page with CGI form, browser doesnt respond to trackball click event unless we play around the UI ormove cursor around or switch between application. However, tocuh screen works all the time. I can't give an example of problem making web site yet. Just wodering is it an isolated case to me.

However, it seems to me to be totally random whether long pressing a link brings up the context menu (which is what I usually want), or goes into text selection mode.

I have installed Dolphin and like it, and I've made it my default browser, which is great. However, it is not only the system default, but it even opens links I click on in the Android provided browser (sometimes I both open). On your computer, when you click links in your non-default browser it doesn't send the links to the default one, and it shouldn't on this OS, either. Any ideas how to keep Dolphin as my system default browser, but not have it open links I click on in the Android web browser?

I need to be able to copy a phone number (not a "contacts" number, but a random phone number) from call log and be able to paste it in a calendar entry.
