I have Sprint Samsung Epic 4g (Android 2.1). Is there any way to configure the phone to recognize phone numbers in email and web pages as click-a-ble to call. I'm not sure either how to copy and paste from into the phone ap.

So when I am on the call screen, and want to hang up or pull the key pad to enter some numbers, sometimes it takes about 3 seconds for the screen to become responsive and those buttons to become press-able. I say 'sometimes' because many a times it just works outright and I can lower the phone from my face and tap the end call button and it works. But other times it can create situations where I want to hang up the phone immediately but cant. Does it happen with anyone else?? One reason for this could be bad proximity sensor, but if screen can light up on taking the phone away from ear, it means proximity sensor is working fine. Any solutions?

View 49 Replies View RelatedAnyone have any work around for this? Also if you are in the sense browser you cannot click on a phone number that has. instead of - and have it dial. you can on the basic Android browser.
It is these two things that kill sense for me. If anyone has any workarounds they would be much appreciated.
I was talking on the phone, and another call came in (call waiting). Suddenly, my phone just restarted itself. Fortunately the reboot time is very fast, but of all the bugs to possibly run into on any cell phone, the scariest is the idea of dropping calls. I am convinced this may be a software glitch that will get fixed with an update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis weekend I logged on to roadrunner via computer downloaded all email to outlook and deleted the mail from the server. (I store all emails locally and not on the email server as they have limits and I do not, just to answer why) Now when I went to the phone all my email was gone from the inbox. It looks like the phone actually synchs to the server and does not store a copy of the email locally. Strange as the deleted emails are still on the phone so they are store locally (what are developers thinking?). Anyway, is there a way, some setting I am missing to store emails locally on the phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else get bad quality at medium to higher volumes through normal calls (not speakerphone). Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.

View 33 Replies View RelatedI work in IT at my company and support mobile devices and their connection to our exchange server.One of our employees got the Epic 4g and she continues to have issues with ActiveSync not downloading emails right away. For example, this morning she had about 25 emails come in and on her Epic it showed the last email being from yesterday. I tried to manually refresh the email on the phone and it did not download any new emails. I rebooted the phone and it started downloading all her emails. This is not the first time this has happened. This is a normal occurrence for her. It will not download anything for a few hours to a few days then download everything at once.I know it is not an issue on our side as we have about 20 iPhones and about 15 Android devices working fine including my Evo. So far, she is the only one in our company with an Epic however we have about 3 employees that are about to leave their Blackberries and iPhones for the Epic and I have told them to hold of until we resolve this issue.

Overall, I think the specs of the Epic win-out but the support (both HTC and community) for Evo is far superior. All of the debates about hardware and I havn't been able to find any real comparison regarding call quality. Since I actually plan to talk on the phone, what do those of you have one or the other or both have to say about sound/call quality? Ultimately, I think this will be the most important factor in my decision.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.2 recently, my phone interface when calling has gotten worse. It has the add call, hold, mute and speaker buttons on top of the number, so I cannot see who is calling. It also overlaps the bottom part.
That is not that bad, it is more preferance. The real problem is that I can not bring up numbers while in the middle of a call. This makes calling automated numbers, or more importantly, my voicemail.
Has anyone else come across this? If so, how did you deal with it? Is there a button I am missing? Or a new phone interface I can download?
While I am on a call, my keypad is not being recognized. The tones sound when I touch a number, but the system doesn't recognize it. Is there a setting somewhere that I might be missing or is this a bug?

I'm used to the BB getting them almost instantly which is important to me because of my work. I'm also getting this notification saying "Network Error" from time to time. What's up with that? Overall I'm happy with this phone but I really hope that I can get my email situation solved.

I have different email accounts, and I know some programs allow combining emails, but I just simply want to get some of these accounts off the phone!
