View 4 RepliesDoes anyone knows how to select text or copy it from emails on the X10? I work a lot with emails but some of my contacts can only use SMS so I have to keep copying info from email to sms, wich with this very high tech wonderful phone that I am having fun with, seems to be somehow impossible? Is it me and my bad tech skills or its the phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedFirst I'm very new to smart phones: I use the application called Handcent SMS, if I hold down the Message bubble when texting I have an option menu appear > Message Options > Copy Message Text.
1) Question: Where does it save the copied text to and how can I paste it to lets say another app like the already built in Phone Book.
2) What is a good place to see a list of function apps for the Droid, and why is the latest build still 1.6 when other phones already have 2.2? (sorry if that question has been asked before.
I have an x10 (which runs Donut 1.6) so maybe the newer versions of android have addressed this but....
When selecting text on a touch screen, it sucks because your fingers block your view of the selection courser. I am not a huge fan of the magnification bubble that I've seen as it also blocks some of your screen.
I would like to propose a new selection behaviour that behaves like smearing paint on a sheet of paper. To select several words from a paragraph you would start the selection process (This would most likely be from a menu item "select text") and then touch somewhere inside your desired target. Then you would smear the selection highlight to one end and then smear it the other way to expand the highlighted area. You can smear back and forth as many times as you want always expanding the highlight until you lift off the screen. If you select too much, you need to cancel but I don't think this will be a problem often.
This behaviour is very similar to the current selection function except that when you start moving the other way it leaves the highlight at the max position you reached so you can go the other way and select where that max position should be.
With the current method if I don't place one end of my highlight correctly, I have to start over. This usually happens multiple times which is annoying.
How do I see my sent box, inbox etc. All I see on the home screen is in the top left corner an envelope I can press to compile a text messge. Where is my inbox, sent box etc? Also how do I delete a draft message? Cant see a delete option anywhere?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.1 I´m having some trouble with the SE text messaging program!
Before it was easy to highlight a typed word, double tap on the word, and then respell it or change the capitols. Now it´s very difficult to make that action happen and I find it easier just deleting the word and spell it again.
This is, for me anyway, less user-friendly than the 1.6 version! I´m hoping that this will be solved in future updates or if anyone of you experts out there have a solution. Changing to other programs as "handsent sms" is not a solution for me!
I recently switched from iPhone to nexus 5.On the iPhone long pressing gave the options to copy and paste single word or whole paragraphs. In SwiftKey on the nexus, long pressing brings up a blue pointer that gives me just the option to delete the word before it. I can't see any way to select a line of paragraph, then copy and paste it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got the x10 and have a few questions. This is my first android/data using phone so they are probably dumb but I just wanna make sure before I get charged any extra. First, am I correct in that if I use Wi-Fi I will avoid the 3g charges since Im using another internet source? Also do things like the MobileTV and GPS use data?My second question was about mediascape. Is there any way to move or cut/paste media into different folders so that they dont show up in mediascape but rather have their own designated folder?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a clever method for inserting phone numbers into a text message? For example- I work in music, and people frequently call or text asking for the phone numbers of cellists and violinists I know so they can hire them for recording sessions. "Sure," I reply, "I'll text the numbers to you." Then, I have to look up the numbers in my People app, write them down on a piece of paper (or on a notepad on my computer), and then write the names and numbers into a text message. That works for home, but when I'm on the road it really screws the process. Can I start the text message and then import the names and numbers as text? I really want to be able to add more than contact to the text message (I'm not talking about recipients here, I mean sending a text that is a list of names and phone numbers).
View 10 Replies View RelatedI get phone numbers sent via text messages. I need to dial *67 to keep my number private when calling clients. On my BB I would copy and paste from the text and then add the *67 prefix. On the Hero, I can't edit the number once on the dial page. I have tried to copy/paste with the *67 sent in the text, but the Hero doesn't recognize the * as part of the number and only copies the 67 part of the prefix. What apps or workarounds do I have? We don't want to block our caller id completely, only as needed. I just have to figure this important function out.
