Jun 4, 2010Don't know if this has been mentioned but the Evo has more of an iPhone style cut and paste now! My Hero running 2.1 didn't.

View 15 RepliesAm I missing something or is this not available yet? I have tried cut & paste from an incoming email (both in Gmail and Yahoo) and can't seem to figure out a way to do it. I also tried cut & paste from the web browser, from a Google Doc and it doesn't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCan someone point me to a cut/paste tutorial? I searched but couldn't find much. I have stumbled onto holding down the physical up key and dragging my finger over text to put it on the clipboard but need to know more.
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst I'm very new to smart phones: I use the application called Handcent SMS, if I hold down the Message bubble when texting I have an option menu appear > Message Options > Copy Message Text.
1) Question: Where does it save the copied text to and how can I paste it to lets say another app like the already built in Phone Book.
2) What is a good place to see a list of function apps for the Droid, and why is the latest build still 1.6 when other phones already have 2.2? (sorry if that question has been asked before.
I am considering buying my first Droid phone; however, i have a very business critical need with my cell phone. I need to be able to copy a phone number (not a "contacts" number, but a random phone number) from call log and be able to paste it in a calendar entry. For example: 555-555-5555 (copy) and then paste in a calendar entry for 5:00 pm on June 8, 2010.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI can see how to copy something (long press on screen, then tap "paper" that comes up), but am lost from there. It tells me the selection has been copied to the clipboard, but where is that? Or how do I go to some other screen and paste? Want to do this in mail, gmail, SMS and browser sometimes.
View 2 Replies View Relateddoes anyone know how to copy/paste a number to make a call from it? as some numbers don't come up as being recognised as phone numbers.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to paste a phone number from clipboard into the dialer? Seems mad that I cant do that, so I have to copy the number down with pen and paper just to dial it back in.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone have any work around for this? Also if you are in the sense browser you cannot click on a phone number that has. instead of - and have it dial. you can on the basic Android browser.
It is these two things that kill sense for me. If anyone has any workarounds they would be much appreciated.
A couple of questions. How do you cut/copy and paste in Droid? Can it be done?
And, after making a video on Droid, how do you move it to your computer? I am assuming the video resides on the SD card (since this is where your photos go). Is the best way to transfer to just put the card in your computer, or is there a better way? Just asking for a buddy who made a video and tried to transfer via USB, and it only transferred a part of the video.
I figured out how to copy i can't figure out how to paste though
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am switching from a BB. I receive text messages from my office with client's phone numbers. We prefer to keep our mobile numbers private, so we need to block our caller id on a per call basis. It wouldn't work for us to block caller id on all calls. On my BB, I would copy and paste the number and then add *67 as a prefix.
On the Hero I can't find a way to edit the phone number from the text message. I can delete it, but can't add to it. Most of these numbers I would not want to add to my address book. I had my office text the number with *67 as a prefix, but the Hero doesn't recognize the *. It just copies the digits. What workaround options do I have?
Is is possible to remove the call feature from a phone, leave the MMS/SMS and Data modes? Basically I have a couple of older gen phones which are pretty crap for anything but media purposes, I use them whilst training or at an OP in Afghan. I just throw my headphones on if im running, as if I drop them.. I dont mind much.
Id like it if I could whack my sim in one, but remove the call function for OPSEC purposes. Still remain useful for SMS and Data(internet) usage whilst im away or even home. I've done this with certain devices (Wildfire, this was only used for Beats and Net, I removed the SMS and call function)
what is that one feature that wows you on the EVO so far? I know it's hard to pick just one. For me the Google Navigation with the Street View integration just does it. Simply amazing. Post yours.
View 26 Replies View RelatedSo in an effort to save money over the long-run Im planning on switching to a feature phone within the next week or so. So my question is; If you had to get rid of your Eris (God forbid) What phone would you get?Btw Im staying on the Verizon Network and would like a phone that has a full keyboard and a decent camera.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to the whole android OS and looking to join in very soon. The feature I am mostly interested in is WiFi tethering. I would like you guys to suggest to me the cheapest handset that I can accomplish such a feature with? Whether the phone comes with the application to do it or it can be done via alternate methods [root].
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll laptops should work, but what about other devices?
iPad - ok
PSP Go - It works I messed up. This is good news to me since it didn't work with my old iPhone and Palm Pre.
PS3- Works great too!
there is no internal phone search! This seems really strange to me for a phone that has the Google branding. So they?re just for the internet and nothing else!? As a long-time Palm user, this was something that I used very regulary and I was surprised to find this feature missing ? it seems like it should be standard. Every computer/laptop has it in the form of either the Finder or Start/Search and a lot phones have it too. Anybody heard anything adding this one or anthing else relating to it? Or can you do this after you root?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am going to be doing some international traveling and my first destination is Shanghai, China. Questions are as follows:
1. Will my droid 1 work internationally?
2. Is there a way to disable the phone feature and only use text?
3. If I text, will there be any additional fees?
4. If I do take a call, how much would it be?
5. If I use skype on wifi, will it work or cost me anything?
6. If I do disable the phone feature, will skype and text messaging work?
7. Will my email still check over 3G or whatever signal? Is there additional fees for this?
What feature do you like the most on your Evo?
View 35 Replies View RelatedI had the proximity sensor problem which was fixed after firmware update/blowing on the sensor. However, now neither the flip to silence the phone on an incoming call feature (the setting is on) OR the flip to activate the speakerphone when in a call now works. The flip to silence the phone on an incoming call was working before the firmware update.
View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone sharing my problem? Almost every morning when I check my phone it has turned of the "phone feature" by it self, and by phone feature I mean the way to be able to make or recieve a phone call. When I turn on the display, mini pro ask me for the PIN-number and when I give it that, then everything works fine again... until next morning.I don't know when during the night this happen...
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue where anytime I try to add a new contact manually for a new phone number or create it using the "create new contact" feature via an old text message by that phone number's owner, my phone automatically deletes it within seconds. This happens only when the sync settings under settings-->accounts & sync-->background information are enabled. The new contact gets deleted regardless whether I add the new contact BEFORE enabling sync or whether I add it WHILE sync is enabled.
Phone's flashed on Gingerbread.
A couple of times today I have taken the Hero out of my pocket to find that it is unlocked and doing something (first time it tried to send an SMS to a black number and then it had loaded the browser) which is weird because I didn't think it would be able to use the touch screen while in my pocket.I'm guessing that it managed to unlock itself by pressing the menu button twice while in my pocket, but this does seem unlikely - anyway I activated the unlock pattern and it hasn't done it since, so my question is it possible to disable the ability to double-press menu to unlock it? (It's rooted if that makes it possible). It's always possible that I just didn't lock the phone either of those times, but that seems more unlikely. Has anyone else noticed this problem?
View 33 Replies View RelatedIt's hard to believe that Android would be lacking the following features from its own creator:
-remote wipe
-backup
-file/photos sync
-lost phone tracking
-"itunes" sync
Just wondering if Google mentioned they would be making one.
I'm searching for android phones that can use video out to the tv for a research project. I'm considering the HTC Touch Pro.
Is there anything I have to do specifically to get the video out to work (for displaying my app on the tv)? or will the phone just display a running app on the tv without extra work?
Since I got my Dinc back in June I have pretty much used AppBrain exclusively to install apps. If you know AppBrain, you know that your account automatically makes and saves a list of the apps you load. And you can sync this list with your phone to keep both current. It is also like a backup incase something happens to the apps on your phone. Well yesterday I was clicking my mouse faster than I was thinking and I deleted my "Apps on Phone" list from the AppBrain website. So my question is...If I run the "Sync with AppBrain" feature from my phone will it recreate the deleted "Apps on Phone" list on AppBrain or will it delete the apps from my phone
