View 33 RepliesI just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cant play any videos on youtube from my eris. i heard that this is widespread. does the 2.1 fix this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI know I can watch videos on the browser but the quality sucks. Is there a hack to fix it?
View 10 Replies View Relatedhas anyone else noticed that with the 2.1 youtube app on the eris ROM if you go to my account and then your subscriptions you can't watch the videos of your subscriptions there? is that because the ROM hasn't been registered or something because it worked just fine with 1.5 (when you could get the videos to actually play).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy youtube app isn't working. Every video i click on goes to load then it says cannot open video. I tried restarting the phone and it still doesn't work.
View 10 Replies View Relatedso what is the deal with the youtube not being able to play video?
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan anyone confirm whether the YouTube application works with the update to 2.1?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am having problems running the youtube app... Whenever it is opened it force closes itself. It was working fine, though now it isn't... I tried clearing the cache and the only thing that helps is a restart, though once Youtube is closed (ATK) then it doesn't boot up all the time. It seems to be random...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried searching and couldn't find anything, but if I were to do a complete factory reset ( after I back everything up), and then said no to all the updates, would the youtube app work perfectly?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems, almost every video I want to see is unable to play with the youtube app. I'm not really a big youtuber as it is, but why have a youtube app on the phone if it can't play 99% of the videos? Although the browser works better, I do get the same result for some videos using the browser too. Is this part of the limitations with having Android 1.5 or what?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore i start i just want to say that this worked for me. i do not have multiple eri (plural of eris)to test this on.. so if you want to try it and post your results. i was just playing around with my phone and decided to turn sense off. i was playing around with it and then i decided to try youtube. it worked on every video that i tried (with different users and everything). some background info>> my youtube application has never really worked.. it used to be where i could just try the video a few times and after a few error messages it would work. but now, with sense off, it works perfectly. i just thought i would put that out there so that if youtube was that important to you (because i would rather sense than youtube) then you can turn sense off before you decide you need to file a "law suite".
View 10 Replies View RelatedHow to fix the YouTube app. I have tried turning on my WiFi but most videos still won't play.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my YouTube account ever since I did the OS update from Verizon. I keep getting a notification that says there was a sign-in error with it. When I click on it, it prompts for my password. I enter my password, and occasionally there's a Captcha to enter, but mostly there isn't. Either way, it doesn't accept it, and keeps prompting me to log in. I turned off the sync options for that account in the settings menu, but it still happens, just not as often. YouTube works just fine, as do all my e-mail accounts and the like.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my Droid Eris for about a week now. The other day I decided to play around on YouTube to see what it was like. Here is the thing though, I have literally found like 1 video that will play. Most of the time I get "This video can not be played". Anyone know why this is?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo the packaged YouTube app will start playing a video and lock somewhere close to the beginning. I was trying to play something this morning and I would get somewhere between 7 and 10 seconds before it just stopped. I had to back out and try again.
Well after trying it 3 or 4 times with no luck, I finally went into my browser and got in through there and it was fine. So after this fiasco which was about 5 or 6 minutes tops, I noticed that my battery had drained 15%! 15% in 5 minutes! Thats so broken!
Under 1.5, I can't see the new videos of my subscriptions on the YouTube app. Is this just a problem under 1.5 and does 2.1 fix this? Also, the YouTube app only shows like 15 of my subscriptions.
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since my update I get a message that I the phone cannot play the video. Some play in low quality but when you try high quality it says it can't play it. I just go to the music category and most of the top videos I no longer can view. Did they change something with the update to prevent youtube videos from playing. A very low percentage play.
I'm using the youtube app on the menu.
Every single time my boyfriend goes on youtube on 3G, the videos don't load at all...why is that?
It works well on wifi >.
I figure maybe it's a Flash problem, but I can't seem to play ANY YouTube videos on my Eris. The error I always get is something about the video not being found. This is a new Eris, got it about 2 weeks ago so I am assuming it's got the most current ROM. Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to work while on the cellular network and not WiFi?
View 13 Replies View RelatedFor instance: when I click on a video on cnn.com, the phone goes through the motions of downloading it and then I get a message: This content cannot play on this device.
When I go to the YouTube app and click on any video displayed, the message is Cannot play video. Sorry, this video cannot be played. The videos that I took with my phone and are stored on my SD are playing OK.
We are organizing a class action law suite for the failure of the Youtube app service and HTC/Verizon/Google doing nothing about it. Everyone paid for this app and function and this service interruption which is estimated to last for MONTHS will not go unpunished. This is currenlty affecting Eris users and maybe Sprint Hero users as well.
View 49 Replies View RelatedMy youtube app that came installed on the phone already gives me an error when trying to play videos.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using Google Calendar and syncing it to my Eris, and for some reason it's damn flaky. Half the time it works, but then if, say, I delete one event out of a recurring pattern from the phone,com.htc. provider. calendar crashes every time the phone tries to update its calendar! It will continually do this until I force stop it, reset the calendar storage and re-sync manually from Google's servers. That, and I've deleted a few events on calendar.google.com and have re-sync'd the phone manually a bunch of times and it won't seem to affect the data on the phone. I mean, it's nice to not have to pay for push calendar sync (like Apple asks you to with MobileMe), but c'mon Google & HTC. First the YouTube app never works on mobile network, Google Maps won't let you arbitrarily pick a location to map to, and this calendar syncing bs? These are things that should just work on a phone with the Google logo on the back.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI know a lot of people have been having trouble with YouTube. I was experiencing these same problems. When i first got the phone YouTube worked fine, and then i started experiencing the following message. "Sorry, this video cannot be played".However i found that when i cleared my search history the videos would then play. For those that don't know how to do this. In the YouTube Application: Menu>Settings>Clear search history. You don't have to exit the application after clearing your search history but you may have to go back a page and then re-select your video. This has worked for me time and time again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm at home, my WiFi speed is typically almost 3m DOWN and 700k UP. (Lame compared to my speeds at work) While my 3G is typically about HALF of those speeds. But here's where my confusion sets in. When I watch a YouTube video with the stock YouTube app, videos buffer faster and/or play MUCH better when using 3G. I'm wondering if the 3G connection is utilizing some kind of compression that allows this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan watch Videos just fine, but every hour or so get a notification saying, "Sign-in error for insertname@youtube.com" ! I use the same password as I do when logging into youtube on my notebook and no issues, yet every time I try to log into youtube on my Eris, It's not a big deal as I can still view videos, it's just annoying having to delete it from my notifications every 2 hours ! Anyone else with this issue or a fix ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMost of the time when I am trying to watch a video it comes back with an error message "cannot play this video".
Why is this?
