Dec 13, 2009Ever since my update I get a message that I the phone cannot play the video. Some play in low quality but when you try high quality it says it can't play it. I just go to the music category and most of the top videos I no longer can view. Did they change something with the update to prevent youtube videos from playing. A very low percentage play.
I'm using the youtube app on the menu.

Mar 2, 2010I figure maybe it's a Flash problem, but I can't seem to play ANY YouTube videos on my Eris. The error I always get is something about the video not being found. This is a new Eris, got it about 2 weeks ago so I am assuming it's got the most current ROM. Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to work while on the cellular network and not WiFi?

Dec 26, 2009For instance: when I click on a video on cnn.com, the phone goes through the motions of downloading it and then I get a message: This content cannot play on this device.
When I go to the YouTube app and click on any video displayed, the message is Cannot play video. Sorry, this video cannot be played. The videos that I took with my phone and are stored on my SD are playing OK.

Aug 23, 2010Recently my DROID updated, and since then my PANDORA radio and Youtube have not played on my phone. It will say unable to retrieve music from Pandora, and youtube it will say unable to play videos.
I have done all updates for the apps, and still nothing.

Sep 3, 2010So the packaged YouTube app will start playing a video and lock somewhere close to the beginning. I was trying to play something this morning and I would get somewhere between 7 and 10 seconds before it just stopped. I had to back out and try again.
Well after trying it 3 or 4 times with no luck, I finally went into my browser and got in through there and it was fine. So after this fiasco which was about 5 or 6 minutes tops, I noticed that my battery had drained 15%! 15% in 5 minutes! Thats so broken!

Aug 10, 2010ever since i put the leaked .3 version youtube has gone downhill. when i click on a video it seems like its loading but then a pop up comes on saying "video cannnot be played" even with the .6 update i did with the leaked ruu its the same. just tested it and it only does it when i have HQ enabled

Jan 25, 2010I know a lot of people have been having trouble with YouTube. I was experiencing these same problems. When i first got the phone YouTube worked fine, and then i started experiencing the following message. "Sorry, this video cannot be played".However i found that when i cleared my search history the videos would then play. For those that don't know how to do this. In the YouTube Application: Menu>Settings>Clear search history.You don't have to exit the application after clearing your search history but you may have to go back a page and then re-select your video.This has worked for me time and time again.

Dec 27, 2009I was trying to find a video on YouTube on my Droid that I could easily find on my computer, but I could not get the video to come up in the YouTube search using my Droid. I tried this in the YouTube app and the browser, but I got the same results. For this particular search, my Droid came up with 4 results, and my computer 20 results. I've also done google searches for particular videos, only to get a "video not compatible with YouTube mobile" (or something like that). Are these 2 issues related? Jul 8, 2010I just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?

Mar 31, 2010I was playing some music today while doing some yardwork and i noticed it was stuttering at the beginning of just about every track it played. I listened to about 12-14 songs and it stuttered in the beginning on about 8 of them, somtimes it would also stutter a few seconds after that but would be fine after that until it went to the next song. Anyone else have this issue? I've got all the apps closed with advanced task manager, so nothing is running and eating up the processor or memory. Any ideas what would cause this or a remedy for it? Any help is appreciated.
