Aug 17, 2009I want to develop an application which will answer the incoming call after specific time is elapsed. Can anyone help me in generating the (green key)KEYCODE_CALL event programatically. I have tried the same with Intent.ACTION_ANSWER but I am getting the exception that No Activity Found by this.

Aug 31, 2010On the galaxy s. Wondering if there was a way to get the phone to auto answer when and only when the headset that come with the phone are plugged in? i.e. with head set plugged in auto answer
no headset plugged in just act as normal. Hopefully I am just missing something obvious as I can see the option to enable auto answer but this seems to be regardless of weather or not there is a headset plugged in. If this is not possible is there a a way to shortcut the enable and disabling of auto answer rather than having to go through all the menus?

May 11, 2010I was wondering if there is an option to setup "auto answer" (like if my phone is connected to my car via bluetooth) for incoming calls. My old phone (LG Dare) had an option to auto-answer the call after the second call, not sure if there's an option for this (I tried looking under advanced bluetooth settings).

Dec 7, 2009I installed it on my Droid and when I open the list and long press on an app it gives me the option to Auto-Kill. I assume this means I won't have to kill this app any longer so I select this option but I find that I keep having to kill the same apps over and over again. What's the point of Auto-Kill or what am I doing wrong? There are lots of programs (most I didn't even install) that run all the time and I'm having battery issues so I don't have battery to waste on programs I'm not using and will probably never use.

Sep 7, 2010So, the slide to answer / decline "feature" on my EVO is driving me crazy. I keep the phone in my pocket. When I go to answer it, it will generally auto answer or auto decline a phone a call. Is there a replacement screen for this? I'm rooted, so I could go with a different ROM if needs be? Or a mod or something? I've seen other people talk about it - but with no resolution.

Jun 29, 2010I have a very hard time with the slide to answer feature. It frequently takes me 3-5 tries to answer a call. I would much rather be able to touch to answer. I do realize that there's a slim chance of answering calls while in my pocket, but I'd rather that then fight with the phone. Does anyone know of an application for this? Nov 18, 2009When my phone is on for a while, the screen times out (Screen Time Out - depending upon settings). If I hit the red button on the right, the screen lights up, but I'm not yet at the Scene pages. I have to "Slide down" to get to main scene desktop. If I have my Security set to require a pattern, I will have to enter a pattern. For purposes of this question - assume there is No Security Pattern set. Hence, the slide down goes directly to the Scene desktop.
Screen Timeout
Menu --> Settings --> Sound & Display --> Screen Timeout -->
Various options including:
* 15-seconds
* 30-seconds
* 1 minute
* 2 minutes
* 10 minutes
* Never Timeout
If I set the Screen Timeout to 1 minute, it'll go dim, and when I hit the red button, it will require the Slide Down to get to the Scene Desktop. If I set the Screen Timeout to "Never timeout", it'll never go dim, but this will use more battery power. Once the Screen is Timed Out, it requires the Slide-Down feature to get to the desktop. When receiving an incoming call, the Slide-Down feature is required to answer the call when the phone is Timed Out.
Question
Is it possible to avoid this Slide Down altogether? It seems the only way to do this is to set the Menu --> Settings --> Sound & Display --> Screen Timeout --> Never timeout
I don't want to use "Never timeout" because this will use more battery power.I find it annoying when I receive an incoming call, if the screen is Timed Out, I am required to use the Slide Down menu to answer the call. Problem is, the moment I do this, it answers the call. There is no: Answer / Decline option available unless the screen is in non-Timed Out mode. I want to be able to answer my phone and completely avoid having to deal with this Slide-Down feature when answering incoming calls. I don't even see the picture of the person in my contact until I slide this down. It would be nice if I could avoid the Slide-down altogether. I would like to have it set such that when the phone rings, I can get immediately to the Answer / Decline option.

Dec 20, 2012All incoming phone calls are being automatically answered. I went to Settings>Language and Input; however, I don't see the Voice CMD for Apps option. I also want to note that this is not voice activated answering - it is just auto answering. I am not using a headset and the option for auto answering with a headset is off.

Sep 28, 2010Since 2.2, I don't do the auto brightness cause its always to dark from my taste so I shut that off and set it around "o" in automatic for the setting. Almost every time I re-wake the phone up its at full damn brightness and when I go into the settings it is still at my setting if I touch it it quickly dims to where it is suppose to be. Also I can get there by hitting the power button and re-waking it a couple times. Is anyone else having the issue and how do u resolve it. I have done a cache clear and factory reset then I also did is all again "Fabrian" way.

Sep 19, 2010Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.

Sep 22, 2010My girlfriend has an HTC Eris and here lately she's been having an issue answering phone calls. This doesn't happen every time but does happen a lot - she'll get a call and will press answer on the phones screen and she then hears nothing. The person that's calling her doesn't hear her picking up, in fact with the tests we've done with my phone and a friends phone is that on the callers end it just keeps ringing as if she never picked up.
She picks up she hears nothing, the caller on the other hand just hears the phone keep ringing. Any idea's what's causing this? She's not running any custom ROMs, in fact it's a stock phone up til about 2 days ago when I did root the phone - however she had this problem prior to that as well.

Jun 10, 2010So I just called Verizon, my original Eris was returned because I couldn't answer calls before they went to voicemail, and now I have the silent speaker bug, I can't hear anyone on through the speaker and they can't hear me on the other side. I didn't realize that I counted on the screen orientation to stay the way when it was leaned the other direction. Whenever I input an 'a' the first option on auto complete is ' asw@armysurpluswarehouse.com' which is apparently from one of my google contacts. Since the web address has a period in it I am unable to select the entire thing at once by double tapping so that I can tell swype to take the word out of the dictionary it uses.
