I want to develop an application which will answer the incoming call after specific time is elapsed. Can anyone help me in generating the (green key)KEYCODE_CALL event programatically. I have tried the same with Intent.ACTION_ANSWER but I am getting the exception that No Activity Found by this.

no headset plugged in just act as normal. Hopefully I am just missing something obvious as I can see the option to enable auto answer but this seems to be regardless of weather or not there is a headset plugged in. If this is not possible is there a a way to shortcut the enable and disabling of auto answer rather than having to go through all the menus?
Why do I have a "Slide" to either answer or not answer every Phone Call? The problem is that it only started doing this when I just turned the phone off and back on. I have had the phone since release and it has never done this before. Does anyone have any idea how to disable this slide to answer or reject feature. I don't want it.

I guess this is useful when talking while driving and you know the phone will end the call when you set it aside instead of having to look on the screen. Is there a way to display while calling if the call is connected or the other party still has not picked up the phone.

I assume this means I won't have to kill this app any longer so I select this option but I find that I keep having to kill the same apps over and over again. What's the point of Auto-Kill or what am I doing wrong? There are lots of programs (most I didn't even install) that run all the time and I'm having battery issues so I don't have battery to waste on programs I'm not using and will probably never use.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a very hard time with the slide to answer feature. It frequently takes me 3-5 tries to answer a call. I would much rather be able to touch to answer. I do realize that there's a slim chance of answering calls while in my pocket, but I'd rather that then fight with the phone. Does anyone know of an application for this? I've searched various forums and there are no current threads regarding this.

When I go to answer it, it will generally auto answer or auto decline a phone a call. Is there a replacement screen for this? I'm rooted, so I could go with a different ROM if needs be? Or a mod or something? I've seen other people talk about it - but with no resolution.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen my phone is on for a while, the screen times out (Screen Time Out - depending upon settings). If I hit the red button on the right, the screen lights up, but I'm not yet at the Scene pages. I have to "Slide down" to get to main scene desktop. If I have my Security set to require a pattern, I will have to enter a pattern. For purposes of this question - assume there is No Security Pattern set. Hence, the slide down goes directly to the Scene desktop.
Screen Timeout
Menu --> Settings --> Sound & Display --> Screen Timeout -->
Various options including:
* 15-seconds
* 30-seconds
* 1 minute
* 2 minutes
* 10 minutes
* Never Timeout
If I set the Screen Timeout to 1 minute, it'll go dim, and when I hit the red button, it will require the Slide Down to get to the Scene Desktop. If I set the Screen Timeout to "Never timeout", it'll never go dim, but this will use more battery power. Once the Screen is Timed Out, it requires the Slide-Down feature to get to the desktop. When receiving an incoming call, the Slide-Down feature is required to answer the call when the phone is Timed Out.
Question
Is it possible to avoid this Slide Down altogether? It seems the only way to do this is to set the Menu --> Settings --> Sound & Display --> Screen Timeout --> Never timeout
I don't want to use "Never timeout" because this will use more battery power.I find it annoying when I receive an incoming call, if the screen is Timed Out, I am required to use the Slide Down menu to answer the call. Problem is, the moment I do this, it answers the call. There is no: Answer / Decline option available unless the screen is in non-Timed Out mode. I want to be able to answer my phone and completely avoid having to deal with this Slide-Down feature when answering incoming calls. I don't even see the picture of the person in my contact until I slide this down. It would be nice if I could avoid the Slide-down altogether. I would like to have it set such that when the phone rings, I can get immediately to the Answer / Decline option.
When someone calls my Google Voice #, I answer the phone, then I get a prompt saying "call from .......press 1 to accept". Is there a setting to just have it answer when I press "accept" on my Inc screen?

I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
Sometimes the screen auto-rotates when I don't want it to if I angle the phone slightly. I am constantly toggling it on and off. To do so of course, I have to go into settings, then display. Does anyone know of an app that I can add the toggle switch as a shortcut on my desktop? It is kind of a pain to go through the settings each and every time. I would much rather just hit it easily on my homescreen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy manager has just bought himself a new Xperia X10 and he has setup the bluetooth connection, however when its paired to the laptop and a call comes in the laptop automatically answers the phone for him, so he has to switch the bluetooth off on his laptop until he needs it. Is there an option either on the laptop (Win XP SP3) or on the phone to stop this happening, the only features he really needs are file transfer and to use it as a modem.

I also want to note that this is not voice activated answering - it is just auto answering. I am not using a headset and the option for auto answering with a headset is off.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently got the G1 and used my Gmail account online (via computer) to setup my contact list and then sync it to my G1. Now when I compose an SMS message, and begin typing the name of the person in my contact list, only some of the names that match will appear in the drop down auto-complete list but others that match don't show up at all. To compose SMS to them I have to use the Contacts>Scroll to contact>Select text to mobile method. Any ideas why some of the contacts do not show up in the auto-complete list when composing an SMS and typing in a partial name in the To field?

I am looking for a lockscreen replacement that most importantly gives the option to answer calls without using the slidey swipey thingy. Maybe just a answer call button. I have tried goto - that was cool, but still had the swipe to answer. Also i tried screen suite, but that thing didn't replace the home lock screen for some reason. Can you sugget any others you might be using or know of?

When I get an incoming call I get a white phone symbol which I have to press and hold to get the red and green phone symbols to appear and to answer a call the timing has to be exact as if I release the white phone symbol before I have started the slide to answer it fails and I find it about impossible to reject a call with this method.
I thought there might be some setting to alter this like the lock screen but can't find anything.
