So all of the sudden my phone starts messin up on me, i go to my albums and see that i only have 20 pictures out of the 313 i had previously on the phone it would sometimes come up with all the original photos and everything in the album but now it's like just gone. How can i get them back? I put it as a disk drive to try and look for it but when i go into DCIM there's only like 10 files in there.

So last night I lost my end/power key function. The phone would not sleep when I hit the key, i would have to wait till it went on standby by itself. I tried some other things and realized that it was a software issue. I can hang up calles and I can bring it out of standby. it would go back into standby by hitting the key as long as I didnt unlock it. So I reinstalled 2.1. Well I got my end/power function back, but now my HTC clock/weather widget just says My Location. when I try to manually enter a city its not found. some major ones are listed but not many are not. GPS is on. Any ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted recently with the evil eris 4.0 running, and used this app Boot Animation Changer and it worked alright but I think I might of did a backup of one of the animations and overwritten over the stock, so stock isn't there. How can I get the stock back?I dont know what to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had my Droid X plugged into my computer and the next day when I was using it, noticed that all of my pictures were gone. My DCIM folder is empty, with all 100 pics missing.
I do have a folder in the DCIM folder called SPMO files and it has many .spmo files that are roughly 500k each in size.
Does anyone know what happened to all of my pictures and is there any way to recover them. I've tried a restart and that did not work. Has anyone else had this happen to them.
Has anyone else experienced this? Some of the pics I have taken are still there but no where near as many as I had before I updated. Same deal with videos I have taken

before , i had v.4.5 and email worked like a champ. Tried to reinstall SG v.5.0.1 few times - no effect.

I have upgraded my OS from 1.6 to 2.1 today using the PC companion.
As suggested, I have taken the backup using the backup & restore app.
After, the phone got upgraded, I could find only facebook contacts in my list.
then i went to View options and played around with all the check boxes and i could view the contacts.
how ever, i could see each contact having the numbers multiple times inside it.
so, I deleted the contacts and tried to restore them again.
the restore was successful. i can see the contacts in my favorites list. when i dial/receive calls, i can still see the contact name.
but, the contacts are not being shown in the list. i know this is a weird problem.
The frame is still there but the picture comes up with a ?
can this be recovered?
I currently have the Galaxy S4. When I switch from the Droid Charge to S4 i put my SD card into my new phone.During the week I was able to see all of my pictures on the new phone then on saturday 6/8 half of my pictures disappeared. I called Verizon and of course they are saying its a corrupt sd card.
This is what I did so far. I removed my SIM card and placed it into a card reader and attached it to my computer. On my PC I unhide the following
- show hidden files, folders and drives
-unhide empty drives in the computer folder
I went thru all folders and could not find anything.
/storage/emulated/0
/storage/ExtStcard
I also looked at the device while the SIM card was inserted into the phone.
One of my kids accidentally deleted my pic.... all of them.. and I have never backed them up.... is there any way to recover them...

Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
I have lost a couple of pictures from the people widget yet the photos have not been deleted from the phone.When I view the relevant contacts in people or receive a text then the relevant photo appears at the side of the contact but not in the widget.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt looks about 99% certain that my Eris is gone. I'm still holding out a little hope that I'll find it around the house. I thought I was carrying it and the charger in my hand along with my work jacket yesterday morning. When I got to work, I couldn't find either in the car so I thought that maybe I forget to pick it up. Got home and couldn't find it or the charger. When I pulled the car out of my yard's parking spot (it's on grass) later in the day, I saw the charger laying there. However, I didn't see the phone. Since it would be weird for someone to have taken the phone but not the charger laying right next to it, I'm holding out a 1% chance that it's still around the house. However, I haven't been able to find it at all.Anyway, I've put it on suspension right now (the in-store rep says that I can bring any phone back on line to replace it if I get a different phone through eBay or other source). So at least I've got any opportunist locked out of the phone.Here's my question - I don't have the funds to pay $150 - 200 for a "new" Eris on eBay. So, if you were me, what would you consider to be the best cheap smartphone alternative that I can pick up for less than $100 on the open market? (preferably more like $50 <g>). I'd just get a cellphone to tide me over but since I'm having to pay for the data plan, I might as well get something with a browser.Any suggestions? Anyone have something lying around that they aren't using? Yeah, yeah, I know.

View 30 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but since the last OTA update, my Eris was literally stuck in 1xRTT data mode for unknown reasons. I fiddled with all the mobile network settings I knew about to no avail.
On a lark, I dialed *611 to try to get tech support on the line. I figured that maybe the Seattle area was having some service issue or something. Instead, the tech suggested I try dialing *228 and hitting option 2 in the menu (essentially resetting the phone's roaming setup)
Boom goes the dynamite, as they say. After a reboot, my Eris is sailing on the winds of 3G awesomeness and it's all thanks to a Verizon tech giving the right answer. Never thought I'd actually utter those last six words.
I lost most of my contacts with the OTA 2.1 upgrade. Some have resynced from Facebook and Gmail, but a great deal of them are still missing including numbers I didnt have synced to FB or Gmail. The numbers are still associated with text messages in messaging app and Handcent, but all contact info has been lost on most of them. Is there any way to get my lost contacts back or are they gone forever?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo, I had I think a free version or something of Visual voicemail before on myBB. Of course thatjust transferred over to my Eris when I got it last Dec. But, that voicemail service would alway send texts when I recieved a new VM and it got annoying so I turned off the notifications. When I did, I just stored the voicemails # to dial in my contacts. Unfortunately I must have done it as a phone contact rather than google because when I reset my phone the number was gone. therefore I have no way of checking my voicemail... any ideas?

At first i thought it was my Sd card but it isn't because i didn't loose my apps. Now i know there's no way to recover my pictures, but i want to know if there is a way to get the phone to work recognize the folder i have so i can use my custom ringtones, alarms and notifications again.I tried the SDcard/audio/ringtones and etc because that's what i had last time and now it isn't work
I just got my Moment yesterday and I have spent some time getting to know my new device and all. Well a lil while ago I started getting everything ready to swap off my old phone (pics, ring tones, music and such) Well I started by taking the media on my old sd card and put it all into a single folder on my PC. I then hookede up the Moment to the PC and all that went ok. I started to transfer the pics, I highlighted most of em and clicked on "MOVE" selected files (first mistake, should have COPIED!) Anyway I MOVED them into the Moment folder . . . DMIC (or however its called). . . THUMNAILS (thinking, PICS. . Thumbnails for some reason made sense to me) I got look on the moment and there is nothing there. NOW ALL my pics are GONE! I have NO CLUE at all where they went or how to access them. My first reaction was. . . OK the Moment didnt recognize the pics but they are still in there if I look at the folder FROM the PC. . . but they are NOT.
Also. . . how come the Moment will not recognize my old ringtones?
In the end I ended up adding all my music into another folder on the Moment called 100driod or something like that and I can access the tunes and even added a couple random pics to that same folder too and those pics showed up fine. Just need to find my lost ones now!
Earlier by Eris just lost all my contacts, all the ones that Verizon transferred over to my Eris. All that is left now are just the phone numbers from people that have left text messages but those who I do not have a recent call history with are gone. Is there any way for me to regain those contacts without having to re-enter every one of them all over again, or possibly without having to go to Verizon for them to import my contacts?

View 14 Replies View RelatedNew to Eris and have set up Wifi to connect to home router (Verizon FIOS Actiontec). Successfully connected (accepted WEP) but get very weak signal and then lose connection. I've turned off "Mobile Network" but still have this problem. I am one room away from router and receive full signal on iMac and printer but only a dot under the Wifi symbol on the Eris. Exchanged a Motorola Droid (which received and held full signal -- as did my prior iPhone)) for Eris. VZW tech support clueless and immediately sent me to HTC support. While they tried (had some not very good explanations -- battery not pushing enough power) still nothing working. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated -- this is the only downside right now.
