I lost stock Android email app totally after installing Smoked Glass v.5.0.1.
before , i had v.4.5 and email worked like a champ. Tried to reinstall SG v.5.0.1 few times - no effect.
Anyone can suggest where to get and install back email app. Not really interested in getting from Market non-droid versions.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using the email app that came on the droid x for 2 weeks with no problem until now. i only have my yahoo email acct on it. this am, my inbox is empty. nothing has changed on my actual yahoo acct, so the emails have not been deleted. how can i get the inbox to repopulate/sync with the emails that are in my yahoo inbox? the other folders of my email are fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of our Droid's have lost the mail accounts at least once (when you go to email it shows the "new account wizard" - however, the old accounts still show in the "Sync" area. One of the devices seems to be doing it regularly. Wanted to see if anyone had advice with this issue, as I have heard other discussing the issue, but never seen resolution. Specific to the unit that has lost it several times. I factory reset the device last time to see if that would resolve it. It dropped it again not a week later. This unit is not rooted, and is at 2.0.1. The only other assumption I can make is possible problems with an APP?

Ive lost my vibrate on SMS and email notifications. Can NOT get anything to trigger them. uninstalled and rebooted after removing my "ringer mode" widget, but that hasnt helped. rebooted multiple times through the day after doing a factory reset then installing all my apps. (to get the battery manager to stop FCing)
thats when i noticed gmail notifier wasnt vibrating my phone on emails. later I noticed it wasnt just email
anyone know what might be causing it? OTA 2.2 X. yes i checked gmail, sounds, handcent, gmail notifier, sms popup, all are set to vibrate. all do nothing (play sound and notifications show up ok, just no vibrate)
Calls will vibrate though.
I loaded the leaked 2.2 when it first became available and then deleted update.zip from the SDCard Directory. 2.2 worked fine.I reverted back to 2.1 in order to be able to get the OTA version of 2.2. Reverting worked fine.I rooted 2.1 using Universal Androot.I installed the following apps: Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, DroidXBootstrap,I did a nandroid backup using Bootstrap.Based on the reports I read today of the OTA 2.2, I decided to re-install the leaked 2.2 Using Root Explorer, I moved su from Bin to Xbin directory in order to preserve root status.I connected the Droid X to my laptop and copied Update.zip to the SDCard. Note that my SD card if almost full - only 25MB left after copying update.zip.I then booted, cleared cache and proceeded to run the update.

Since then the videos wouldn't work. It said the video would not play. Now the videos are gone. Has anyone had any problems like this?

Is there any way to get back the blur email on fission? or can someone help me set up my email acct another way. It is through outlook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis seems to be because of 2.2, it didn't do it before the update. I have it set to "face book pop" but after awhile it goes back to "droid". It's not that big a deal but it sure is annoying. That "droid" tone was neat for like five minutes then got on my nerves so I changed to the more subdued noise. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue or maybe I'm doing something wrong.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a question regarding the mail feature of the Droid. I have three accounts setup. One Gmail, one Yahoo and one Hotmail (yep...I like all flavors).
I can send and receive mail without issue but for some reason with the Yahoo and the Hotmail account, the Droid will seem to pull "old" email back onto the device and mark it as new and light up the indicator. This gives then shows that I have new mail but it really isn't new but it is old, previously read email that has been deleted and pulled back onto the device.
I have setup my yahoo account on my droid, and it is working, but is overworking. What is happening is I keep getting the emails over and over no matter how many times I delete them. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. It works but I delete the emails and they come again and again. I had to delete the account to stop the endless loop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo all of the sudden my phone starts messin up on me, i go to my albums and see that i only have 20 pictures out of the 313 i had previously on the phone it would sometimes come up with all the original photos and everything in the album but now it's like just gone. How can i get them back? I put it as a disk drive to try and look for it but when i go into DCIM there's only like 10 files in there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last night I lost my end/power key function. The phone would not sleep when I hit the key, i would have to wait till it went on standby by itself. I tried some other things and realized that it was a software issue. I can hang up calles and I can bring it out of standby. it would go back into standby by hitting the key as long as I didnt unlock it. So I reinstalled 2.1. Well I got my end/power function back, but now my HTC clock/weather widget just says My Location. when I try to manually enter a city its not found. some major ones are listed but not many are not. GPS is on. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my OS from 1.6 to 2.1 today using the PC companion.
As suggested, I have taken the backup using the backup & restore app.
After, the phone got upgraded, I could find only facebook contacts in my list.
then i went to View options and played around with all the check boxes and i could view the contacts.
how ever, i could see each contact having the numbers multiple times inside it.
so, I deleted the contacts and tried to restore them again.
the restore was successful. i can see the contacts in my favorites list. when i dial/receive calls, i can still see the contact name.
but, the contacts are not being shown in the list. i know this is a weird problem.
This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
Took a ride on my motorcycle last night with Droid in clip on case on my pocket. Drove about 1 1/2 miles when I realized it had fallen out of its holder. I back tracked and found nothing. Then my wife and I took my truck and went along the same route-nothing. Then (at this point mainly worrying about all the data in it if someone had picked it up) I walked with a flashlight the whole route while looking off the side of the road-still nothing. This morning I decided to take my bicycle and give it another try. About 1 mile from my house I spotted the rubber protector that surrounds the screen still near the edge of the road. I got off the bike and found the main section in a hedge so I have the battery and sim card. About 30 ft further I found the screen folded over and crushed. So I guess the battery and card might be ok but the rest is trashed. This one is insured by Asurion with an $89. deductible. (I ran over my previous Droid with my riding mower just this last May and I had to pay full price for a new one as it was not insured). I started a claim online with Asurion and the Droids are on backorder according to the site. I did this last night and reported it lost and possibly then stolen. Now at least I have the pieces.Does anyone think I might have a chance to get it replaced at the Verizon store?

I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm finding that I'm using the back button A LOT whether browsing the web or just navigating the OS. It kind of sucks because the buttons on the droid x are well, really small, and sometimes hard to press because they are so narrow and flimsy feeling. And depending on how you are holding the phone, it could be a good bit of distance for your thumb to travel or I'm finding myself having to reposition the phone in my hands just to reach the back button, which you seem to need very frequently.
Anyone know of any kind of back 'swipe' implementation ? Like some software you can install that makes it if you swipe left to right on maybe the top bar it goes back?
DROID spontaneously lost all my MMS/SMS messages....evidently this is a known bug (as far as users go)...Verizon nor Google acknowledge this issue. No way to predict when the bug will strike...no way to prevent and no way to retrieve the messages.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI install it and it goes fine but I didn't do a data wipe and the animations were pretty sluggish. So i reflash and do a wipe the next time. Goes perfect but now I have no contacts or calender and noway to sync up for some reason. So i restore to my old rom and go to download the new froyo build again-- i think this is where I went wrong. So when I go to install the newest froyo rom again, the phone rebooted and is stuck on the motorola logo boot up screen same with when I hold X and Power button. I don't know what to do from this point. I can no longer get to the recovery screen.
