Using a Wired Earbud, it has a button to end the call. When starting a call you click the earbud button and you can say "call, Joe Smith". With the upgrade to Android 2.2 it only turns on & off the music and I lost all call functions. How can I get the call functions back?

I've searched hi and low, so I apologize if this has been answered before.I have a stock Droid-X. I have my blue-tooth paired to Motorola HT820 stereo/phone headsets. SIDE NOTE: I also use wired stereo ear-buds that are music and phone capable as well.Here's the problem.I can be listening to Pandora with my HT820's all is fine, I am grooving.. then I receive a phone call. I carry on the phone call for 5+ minutes (or whatever) through the HT's and when I disconnect from the call, I have nothing but silence! Music does not come back. I check to make sure Pandora is running and the music is playing yep, still no sound though.So I try and test what is happening.I then go back and call, say voice mail. The call goes over the HT's fine. But when I disconnect from the call, my music is not there. I try turning off, then back on the blue-tooth (I double check in settings I am connected and it is) but it still won't play my music, it will come over the regular speaker, when I turn of the blue tooth. The only way to bring it back is to power off the X. My music will then play again until I receive another call or notification like a text message.The weird thing is this happens when I use the wired ear buds plugged into the jack. These are designed not only for stereo, but handling phone calls too. No sound, I unplug and the music plays out the speaker. Again only powering off and on the X will get the music back into the wired ear buds. Like I said, this is a stock phone, not rooted. Paired and connected, Media and phone checked.

Basically, I don't know what functions & XML attributes to provide when programming a specific Android feature; eg, Android Search Widget with Edittext in the middle, magnifier glass on the right, and a custom icon on the left.
From where I can find out what methods, parameters & XML attributes to call when doing a specific Android task?
Fron what sources can we find out how to program specific Android feature? Are there some overall programming pictures to reference?
I've been looking for a couple of days and haven't found anything worth trying. I also do not like in-the-ear buds and would prefer something that goes over the ear.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo all of the sudden my phone starts messin up on me, i go to my albums and see that i only have 20 pictures out of the 313 i had previously on the phone it would sometimes come up with all the original photos and everything in the album but now it's like just gone. How can i get them back? I put it as a disk drive to try and look for it but when i go into DCIM there's only like 10 files in there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo last night I lost my end/power key function. The phone would not sleep when I hit the key, i would have to wait till it went on standby by itself. I tried some other things and realized that it was a software issue. I can hang up calles and I can bring it out of standby. it would go back into standby by hitting the key as long as I didnt unlock it. So I reinstalled 2.1. Well I got my end/power function back, but now my HTC clock/weather widget just says My Location. when I try to manually enter a city its not found. some major ones are listed but not many are not. GPS is on. Any ideas?

in order to start a service

Or, provide a Context object to do a query

If this is done in a UI class which extends Activity, that's fine.
However, If I want to create my own utility class (a singleton) that doesn't extend anything and call these functions, I don't have necessary Context object. Now my workaround is to pass an activity reference while initializing the utility class and have that reference to call those functions. I'm wondering what's the correct way to do that. It should not be reasonable to have every class to extends Context so that it can call those functions.
I lost stock Android email app totally after installing Smoked Glass v.5.0.1.
before , i had v.4.5 and email worked like a champ. Tried to reinstall SG v.5.0.1 few times - no effect.
Anyone can suggest where to get and install back email app. Not really interested in getting from Market non-droid versions.
I have upgraded my OS from 1.6 to 2.1 today using the PC companion.
As suggested, I have taken the backup using the backup & restore app.
After, the phone got upgraded, I could find only facebook contacts in my list.
then i went to View options and played around with all the check boxes and i could view the contacts.
how ever, i could see each contact having the numbers multiple times inside it.
so, I deleted the contacts and tried to restore them again.
the restore was successful. i can see the contacts in my favorites list. when i dial/receive calls, i can still see the contact name.
but, the contacts are not being shown in the list. i know this is a weird problem.
I went to check my call log this morning and noticed it was completely empty. Not too big of a deal but still somewhat of a hassle. Then as I started getting calls throughout the day, I noticed that all of my contacts had their ringers reset to the default ringer instead of their custom one. I haven't seen or heard of this problem anywhere else. I know people have had their messages completely wiped but this seems to be only Phone data.

When on a call, the proximity sensor doesnt work, so the screen goes black. And when i press the end call button to turn the screen back on it just ends the call. Is this normal? Or a known issue?
When I'm on the phone and talk for over 15 mins or so my screen won't come back on.It goes off when I put it against my head like it is supposed to and comes back on when I pull it away like it should. But after 15 mins or so it goes off and wont come back on when I pull it away. So I can't end my call and when it's time to end the call of course I can't, nor can I get a call waiting. I had my phone's display set to time out after 10 mins then changed that to never time out but it still does this. However this setting shouldn't matter I wouldn't think, but it doesn't help either way. I'm having to do a battery pull to get my screen back,I have no other issues other than this. I hope I don't have to take it back! Will this be fixed on the December update? I plan on putting a call into Verizon tech support later but wanted to get your thoughts. Any ideas?
View 17 Replies View RelatedOkay so sometime yesterday my headphone jack just stopped working; the sound would only come out of the phone even with a headphone plugged in. I took the headphones out, turned it off, and turned it back on. Working again, no problem. Now today, I'm listening to music and realize I'm only getting sound out of one earbud. I thought it was weird for a headphone to blow out since I just recently got it in March, but I figured it must've just been that - a blown out earbud. However, my friend tried his headphones in there just to make sure, and the same thing happened. He wasn't getting sound out of his left (or right, not sure) earbud. I've tried turning it off and on with the headphones out, the headphones in, as well as downloading that headphone jack toggler from another thread I found on here. Same problem. :/ Is my headphone jack done for? Am I gonna have to get it replaced? Will the basic warranty even cover something like this? I guarantee I didn't drop it or get it submerged in water or anything...

And, once the user is done with the call (by pressing the hangup button or whatever), the call log screen wouldn't get shown and the user would be directed to a new activity within the application. I know there's ways to detect calls and call hangups through services, but, I'm not sure if it's possible to make an activity from an app pop up as soon as a call is over.
