My phone just does not vibrate anymore. I've checked all my settings and they all say that it's on vibrate, but when I get a notification or a call it doesn't do anything (except the sound).

Is this normal, or is this an issue? Also while in low light, or dark conditions, shouldn't the for hard keys light up?? Is this an issue if they don't, or just an affect of not having brightness set to auto?

I need in my application to make the device vibrate during the playback of a sound. I did something like this: Vibrator vibrator=(Vibrator)context.getSystemService(Context.VIBRATOR_SERVICE); ... vibrator.vibrate(mp.getDuration()); but it makes the application crash. What am I doing wrong? Does the emulator support the vibration?

I know that you can turn off haptic feedback for the screen, but on the eris, i have yet to find a way to turn off the haptic feedback for those specific keys at the bottom. View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone no longer vibrates in vibration mode or for any other setting for which I have vibration turned on. My haptic feedback disappeared at the same time.
Haptic feedback is checked yet there is none. I have rebooted and pulled the battery to no avail. My phone is useless in vibration mode since it no longer vibrates.
Anyone have a clue why this would have happened? One minute it was working the next it wasn't.
Background: Bought an Eris several weeks back. Had AOnline Radio and DroidCumulus installed. Phone broke, got it replaced at store with another Eris. Tried to download both apps, could only find/download mms lite, a similar but inferior app by the same company. Emailed support, and their response was:"AOR, DroidCumulus are Security enabled apps.If your device is not categorized as secured as per android market,then you will not be able to see the app."Does anyone know what this means? Is there a setting that I can change? Why would one phone be security enabled and not another that should be identical?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently noticed an issue with my Droid Incredible that no one has been able to fix. Whenever I press the "t" on my virtual keyboard, I am constantly getting the "r" or "y". Rarely am I getting the "t". It seems like sometimes I press the "t" and I don't get any haptic feedback. If I continuously press any other letter, I get that letter. But with the "t", it is mostly "r" and "y".
I went to the Verizon store and they noticed the problem, but said only that I should do a factory reset which I did after organizing apps I have downloaded, with no resolution. And the first thing out of their mouth was if you get a replacement, it won't be a new one. Being with Verizon for over 8 years, I understand that since I've had bad Blackberries in the past, but I have also found that the so called refurbished ones have worked flawlessly. I went ahead and had them send one out to me.
I've been loving this HTC keyboard that I've downloaded from xda forum, but the only concern that I have is the fact that I don't have a multi-touch on my HTC keyboard. HTC keyboard apk with multi-touch enabled?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else irked by the proportion of apps that cause force-close on the Eris? About 1 in 3 (maybe more) seem to do this. I assume developers are writing code for 2.0 mostly by now, but still. I would think there had be SOME level of back compatibility. It's not like I'm downloading obscure applications. These are typically highly rated applications found on the bigger review sights and AndroLib. For instance, just today, two WiFi apps and Shuffle both caused my Eris to crash. And apparently something else I haven't determined yet. What are other's experiences/success rates with applications? I'll append this post later with apps known to cause crashes. In fact, until the 2.0 upgrade, it might be a good idea for a sticky.

Using the old 'turn it off' option has no effect. Has anyone else had this happen? I was just thinking it might speed the keyboard up a little if I could turn it off (and may help save a tiny bit of battery too).

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, in 1.5 there were all these complaints (from me, too) that the vibrate on the Eris is useless. But with 2.1, I can definitely feel a difference. Well, I can feel it at all, which is a huge difference. So kudos to HTC for seeing a problem and fixing it. Could be stronger, but still, much much better.

How i can use ADB_ENABLED and USB_MASS_STORAGE_ENABLED in my App?
From what information I can gather from the web, android browser shortcuts are comprised of MENU + X combinations. Is there an equivalent for the Eris? I do not see how this works given the lack of a real keyboard. To open the keyboard take a separate action and when holding MENU to then click the appropriate letter, all you get is the menu.

Before my eris would play the notification sound within a second of the vibration. Now, my phone lags for about 2 or 3 seconds, vibrating first, then ringing. use the native SMS program, and I don't want to have to download any new apps like chompSMS or anything, I just want my phone to start working again.
