View 8 RepliesI've put together an update that will remove the haptic feedback on the Eris when you press the dialer keys (it does still make the sounds though). It works great for me but I was wondering if someone else could test and let me know how it works for them. All the credit for the method goes to JsChiSurf at xda-developers who figured out how to do this for the Hero. I just decompiled the HtcDialer apk from the latest Eris 2.1 leak (Leak 4?) and applied JsChiSurf's method to it (adding a return-void to the vibration function). Just load the zip from your recovery image. This does not delete any of your data. However, please, please do a nandroid backup before you use this. This is my first attempt at creating this sort of thing. Comments and criticism welcome.

Seems to me you can't remove the haptic feedback on the phone dialer.I would hate to see that this is true, this is the best phone dialer I've had on an android device.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI was in Verizon the other day and i realized that the Motorola Droid doesn't have haptic feedback on its home, menu, back, and search keys. I know that you can turn off haptic feedback for the screen, but on the eris, i have yet to find a way to turn off the haptic feedback for those specific keys at the bottom. So i was wondering is it possible? is there an option to do it in any downloadable apps?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone no longer vibrates in vibration mode or for any other setting for which I have vibration turned on. My haptic feedback disappeared at the same time.
Haptic feedback is checked yet there is none. I have rebooted and pulled the battery to no avail. My phone is useless in vibration mode since it no longer vibrates.
Anyone have a clue why this would have happened? One minute it was working the next it wasn't.
Does haptic feedback (vibrate) and sound on the keyboard. Really effect the battery life? I have the feedback off because of typing lag, but like having the sound on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Haptic Feedback for texting because I don't like that loud clicky noise, it's annoying. So my question is - considering that I text alot, is it possible for haptic feedback to lose it's "feedback" as to where it's not as "rumbly" anymore?
View 2 Replies View Relatedjust curious, who uses haptic feedback and who doesnt? i wouldn't go so far as to say that i love it but it definitely feels weird to not use. i've been using it since i got my phone and i tried turning it off yesterday (to see if there's any real impact to battery life with/without haptic feedback) but i couldn't deal so now it's back on. thoughts?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone elses Haptic feedback on the 4 touch-buttons make a "crack" sound sometimes? I noticed that I hear it more when I hold the phone in landscape with the screen slid up. It still vibrates, but it also delivers a very interesting crackling sound and the vibrate usually feels weaker than normal when this happens. I think I will turn it off because it always feels like i'm breaking it by pressing them too much lmao.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone here noticed that the haptic feedback on their droid is inconsistent? Not that different keys/inputs have different feedback levels (which is obviously intentional), but that occasionally and seemingly for no reason a key like "return," "home," or even an on-screen numeric key will have an unusually powerful vibrate?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to turn off the short vibration that occurs when you unlock the Droid from the lock screen? I could have sworn that when i first used the phone it was not like that. I already have haptic feedback turned off for the virtual keypad.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was on the 2.3.9 and finally updated to the 2.3.15 last night. So far the only issue I have is that I lost Haptic Feedback. I haven't seen any other posts discussing this as an issue. Anyone know why this happened? Did the update for TBH include a new build.prop that disabled this feature? Speaking of build.props I also still have 2.3.9 showing as my system version? Is there any way to know for sure you're on .15?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to disable haptic feedback when you move your phone to silent mode? I normally carry the phone with vibrate on, but in class I'd like to set it to silent, and then I'd like it to not use haptic feedback so that I can use the phone without making a ton of noise.

View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore the OTA I was able to select which apllication was used when the large "phone" button was pushed on the homepage. I think what used to happen was that when you downloaded a new phone dialer and then pressed the phone button the first time you were given an option as to what app you want to use for this action. Once you chose an app it was always activated when you pressed the phone button. I don't see this happening anymore.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAt first i though that the slight clicking I felt while typing was due my Seidio case. But after removing it, I noticed that it was still there. Its a slight clicking feeling as you type when you get the haptic feedback. Sometime when typing on the screen but most of the time when Im typing and go press one of the screen buttons. Almost like the haptic feedback motor is causing something to click on the phone physically. Anyone else having this issue?
