HTC Droid Eris :: HTC Sync Can't Find My Phone

I can't sync between my PC, Vista 32 bit, and my Eris. I can mount the SD card and transfer pictures, etc. I have enabled USB Debugging. I have installed/re-installed HTC sync several times. I have disabled my virus software.I get the HTC Sync notification when I plug in the Eris, but when I tap it to start connecting, nothing. The PC bleeps at me as if it has recognized a new device, but the Eris never finds the HTC sync software (yes it is open). It finally reports that it can't find HTC Sync on the PC.The first time, Windows installed several device drivers, including the HTC driver. "My HTC" driver is visible in the Device Manager and reports it is working properly. This last time, I got a Windows Error stating the HTCVBTServer module had stopped working.I can't find any information on this.

Been messing around for a very long time with apps to see exactly what is causing this, and never found anything. Recently i downloaded Launcherpro and the problem has not come up since then (knock on wood). Maybe it could be HTC Sense?

Where is the folder located at? Like when i save a picture from a MMS it goes under "download" in the Photos.. & i can't find it when it's mounted as a disk drive.

I was wondering if there is anywhere I can find a replacement volume button for the droid eris, or where I can get mine repaired. I am about to buy an eris off of craigslist and need the only thing wrong with it is that it needs a new volume button.

hi im new to the forum and own a htc desire . i downloaded the sync to pc software but my phone says it can find it on my pc . my pc says that the drivers are ready for use . im not very good at trouble shooting these sort of things .

I had been using HTC Sync successfully to sync my calendar items and haven't used it for a week or two and now all of a sudden when I connect my phone via usb to my laptop, its searching for ages and then comes up with "unable to find HTC Sync on your PC". HTC Sync is def open and installed on my laptop. Any advice on what it could be? I've powercycled the phone and laptop. changed the usb port can't think of anything else.

When I had a WinMo phone (HTC Touch) I used EasySync software to automatically specified folders between my PC and phone. This came in handy when I would travel and people wanted some of the large files emailed to them. Since the Eris, I have missed this functionality. I know that I can drag/drop/copy but am looking for something that will automatically sync when phone is mounted. Does anyone know of an app?

I open the HTC sync program and connect my phone to my pc with the usb. The notification then pops up on my phone asking which connection type (charge/sync/disk drive), i choose HTC Sync and press 'done'. A window then pops up on the phone screen saying 'unable to find HTC sync on your PC. Please make sure HTC sync is installed and opened on your computer...' HTC sync IS installed and open, i have downloaded it today off the HTC website.

Is anyone having issues with HTC Sync and the phone not being able to find it on the computer? I've used it before, but today it doesn't want to find it on my computer. I uninstalled sync from the computer, and reinstalled it, even tried a hard reset on my phone, still no go.
Any ideas? Or am I just an idiot and doing something wrong?

So in early May, I got the Android update thing for my Droid Eris. I started it, and it took forever. Ever since then, I can't link my Facebook account to my phone. I've seen a lot of similar situations but nothing exactly the same. I can't link any of my phone contacts to my Facebook contacts. I have the Facebook for HTC Sense and the Facebook app. I can log on and view my Facebook accout, etc but when I go to People my contacts don't have pictures. I've tried to go to menu > settings > account & sync and remove my Facebook for HTC Sense account and manually sync or whatever. Still didn't work. A "force close" message appears every time I try to sync, yet my Google accounts will sync. I've tried going to each contact and manually link them to their Facebook profile but nothing even loads, as in it will say I have no friends to choose from (whomp whomp). I finally gave in and installed that Sync My Pix app but I'm not satisfied. Mainly, because that app saves all the contacts pictures in my photo albums and it doesn't do their status updates, etc. Really, I just don't want an app to make my phone do something it's already suppose to do.

I have searched and read a lot of threads that talk about syncing but still have not been able to find a solution. My problem is, I am wanting to do something so simple, I want to sync my contacts on my phone to my gmail account so that it's backed up (if anything happens to my phone) But i tried going to settings and it wont let me do it (maybe i am doing it incorrectly). Can someone post the correct ways to do this? My default email account is a hotmail account and i have added another email account which is the gmail account.

I want to keep work events separate from home events, which I loaded onto the phone's Calender. I went ahead and downloaded the Calendar Pad for Android and it is really great. It went and synched with the Calendar app native to the device, which is find because i really like the UI.
But I need a separate calendar app for my work stuff. I don't want them on the same calendar (way too crowded).
Anyone know of an app that just "keeps to itself"? I searched and I couldn't find one.

Need some help here. I first deleted some of the random contacts that where on my gmail account when i first linked the phone. I even removed the contacts I put in to my phone. How do I relink or sync the contacts i have in my phone with my gmail account? I do not see the contacts that are in my phone on my gmail account. Thats what I am trying to accomplish. I've searched the forums and looked at the Sticky above, but it doesn't seem to answer the question. We have one staff member here that bought a Droid Eris (Verizon) and unlike the Motorola Droid, I can't get this phone setup via Active Sync to our exchange server. I setup his account on my phone (M Droid) and it worked perfectly...messages, contacts and calendar all synced up fine. I go back to his Eris, and it says the account cannot be created at this time. All the settings are the same etc., so I'm a little stumped. I called Verizon and they said to wait for the new 2.0 upgrade that's supposed to be coming, but they weren't sure if that had been addressed or not. Am I missing something, or does the HTC Droid Eris not fully work with Active Sync with MS Exchange 2003?

Just took the plunge and rooted with xtrROM3. Wish I had done it long ago but now cannot
find my gmail in apps or in my sd card. Calendar syncs as do contacts but no gmail shortcut or app on phone or in market.

I know there are a bunch of 2.1 threads but i've been sifting around and I haven't exactly found my answer of what I was looking for...1) Where can I get the link/download or whatever? That is as bugless as possible?2) Are there any written instructions? A video?I've rooted my droid with the help of some guy from the droid portion of this side and it wasn't as hard as I thoughts could somebody help me out3) Is this rooting? I'm certain this is a router issue seeing as my Eris can find all other hot spots, but my phone cannot detect my Belkin Wireless N+ router, even when it's very close. I am wondering if anyone has had this issue and how to maybe fix it.
