View 2 RepliesIs there anyone who use the CoPilot 8 software for navigation while driving? Is it worth the money? How is the interface? Is there an alternative?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI heard that Sygic is very good turn by turn navigation for Android, anyone running it? How is it compared to Copilot?
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I confirmed my suspicions about Copilot Live - an incoming call causes navigation to stop. Upon completing the phone call, the app loads - not where it left off, but from scratch - and then calculates the route from your current position.
Is this behavior unique to my installation? Or the Motorola Droid?
I should add that NDrive also stops upon an incoming call, but does not automatically resume afterwards.
I'm starting to wonder if this is some remnant of development for some non-multitasking phone OS that I won't name.
im a new member here and i was just wondering if some of your guys can do me a huge favor. can anybody tell me if copilot works for the 2.1 leak, please. i don't wanna jump in with the leak if i am not able to re-download it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWondering if anyone knows if CoPilot live will work on the eris? I know their website does not list their eris as a compatible device but I find lots of other apps around the web that are not available in the market but work flawlessly on my eris?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have had quite a few problems with the stock gps. I am not sure if its the program or the gps in the phone. I downloaded the "aura" app for navigation and it worked just didn't like the OS of it. But with that app you have to download the maps so it basically only relies on the phone for the gps signal for location not for the maps. I was wondering if anyone has tried any other navigation apps and if they work better than the stock version?
View 28 Replies View RelatedSearched for a solution to this, but was unsuccessful.I got the OTA on Saturday and noticed that I had a program called "Navigator" and a program called "Navigation".Navigation had a blue arrow icon. Yesterday I had to do a factory reset and now I am unable to find the "Navigation" shortcut.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone noticed how HOT their phone gets when using the Navigation option on Android 2.1 ? The navi app must be a CPU hog or maybe they've increased the power on the GPS module (isn't it an all-in-one chipset though ?). Try it for even a 1/2 hour and I think you'll be surprised at the temperature.
View 7 Replies View RelatedNo OTA. No Google navigation but I still love my Eris!

View 30 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for a clear answer to this, and while a number of people have posted about it, I still am not 100% sure of the answer. I am going on a trip to England in a couple of weeks; I am not planning on using my phone to make calls or send texts while I am there, so I am not looking into any kind of international data plan (I'm not even sure if this exists for Eris). However, I will be driving around quite a bit, and it would be really nice if there was any way to use the GPS navigation. From other posts it seems like this may not be possible, but I'm not sure. I had thought that since GPS uses a satellite signal rather than the cell network, I could put the phone into airplane mode, then just enable satellite reception and I would be all set. Perhaps this doesn't work because the data connection is needed to load the maps ... ? Anyway, if someone could explain to me the ins, outs and possibilities of using GPS in other countries
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes the Eris have a car mode for navigation like the droid does? I would buy a dock I think if I knew how it work first. The stood has an app called DockRunner. Is there a similar app for the Eris?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there are any good navigation apps for the HTC Droid Eris that have turn by turn directions. Thanks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday i was driving and using the navigation (not google maps, the actual turn by turn navigation) and i received a call but the screen just went black and i couldnt answer or decline it. So i tried to call the person back and it would not dial. Also tried it later on in the day to make sure it wasnt a signal problem but no such luck. I cannot receive or make calls while using turn by turn navi. Anybody else have this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAm i missing something phone wont go to sleep after using navigation. what do i need to do to close this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMaps vs. Navigator vs. Navigation. didn't find anything that compared the 3 stock options that the 2.1 OTA gave us. So far I have been using Navigation (the blue arrow icon) and i think it works extremely well, it give voice directions while the program runs in the background and your phone is "sleeping" so thats a big plus for me. I didn't see a voice option on Maps, or Navigator but i may be missing something. Navigator looks cool, but doesnt seem to have any bells and whistles that I need. My wife uses Maps and she is happy with what it does. What are your experiences with these 3 options?
View 12 Replies View RelatedCan the Eris do the Navigation like the moto Droid does?
Found a Eris for free with new account and that fits my price range!
Moto Droid is still $120 out of my range!
Am I correct in thinking that the new update can do Google Maps Navigation? If so how do I download it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's because of the leaked 2.1 but I can't get the Street View for Google Navigation to come up on Eris.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been doing a lot of research lately, on this forum as well as others and I read somewhere that someone was able to port google maps navigation to there eris. I can't remember if it was this site or somewhere else. Can anyone confirm this? I also read that the people over at xda-developers were able to get it working on the G1 which I believe is running either android 1.5 or 1.6.
Here is the link:
Google Maps Navigation Ported to T-Mobile G1 | Android Central.
It would be great if we could get this working on our Eris, I really don't care for any of the other 2.0 features besides this.
Can anyone confirm if Google Navigation can be used to just show your progress/location on a road while driving, without having to have an actual destination input?I know this was shown on a few of Rob's videos as not being possible, but just wanted to confirm if anyone had any further info on it.
View 30 Replies View RelatedAnyone know of any navigation apps besides the google ones and the stock carrier one?(i have sprint). I dont know maybe its just my phone but i made a simple drive earlier in clear coverage areas and Sprint Navigation just kept re-routing over and over again and when it wasnt it would jsut sit there and not do nothing until i tapped the screen then it would spring back to life with directions that were hit and miss. Is the GPS really that terrible on thsi phone? Sprint Navigation worked perfect on my blackberrys and even the Palm Pre.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've seen more than a few users in the OTA section commenting on the new Navigation Shortcut for Google Maps. This is NOT part of the OTA, per se, but is due to a Google Maps for Mobile update that coincidentally debuted today.
This is from the Official Google Mobile Blog:

I'm using the Note2 with the TW-based Digiblur rom and am having trouble when playing HTML5 player videos in the stock web browser. Any time a video plays, instead of timing out like they are supposed to, the navigation softkeys on the device stay lit while the video is playing. If I pause or stop the video, everything goes back to normal and the keys time out like they are supposed to. The problem is not present in any video player application, including the stock YouTube client.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWould any1 be able to copy and upload the stock browser from Android 1.5? read somewhere that the Gmail issue would MAYBE be an Incompatibility with the Internet App, wanna try some things out.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDon't know if this had been posted, but for those of you using the stock 2.1 browser who want the notification bar while you browse, all you need to do is use the google search widget to get on the internet. I found this out by accident while trying to figure or a easy to so it.
