View 30 Replieswith the new 2.1 leak and the use of google navi, can anyone suggest a good mount for my car?
brands/diff types? i want a simple/clean looking version.
I have been trying to get help with this for awhile, but have got no where. I am about to just get a replacement. Only thing holding me back is that my moisture sticker is pink, even though I've never got this phone wet. Anyway, the issue. When plugging my phone to my computer, it will not recognize. Can't run ADB commands, do not get an option on the phone to mount sd card or that it's even connected. However, it will charge. I have loaded different ROM's, reloaded windows, tried it on ubuntu, multiple machines, different sd card in the phone.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just added the leaked 2.1 yesterday and was trying to add the new 2.1 music player that a few people have added. I dl'ed it on my computer and connected my eris to my PC through USB. Once I connected, it gave me three options, charge only, HTC Sync, or disk drive. I chose disk drive and added the new musicplayer file to my phone. Forgetting how to access my SD card files, I went to Settings>SD card &phone storage> and quite regretably hit Unmount SD card. In doing this, the only option I have on that screen is to Format (erase) my SD card (Which I'd rather not do). Now when I connect using USB, I only get the first 2 options, charge and HTC sync, and cannot connect with my PC anymore as a disk drive. how I can connect back up with USB to my computer? and where do I go to access the files I've added to my SD card? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone used a magnetic mount like this?
HTC Droid Eris Phone Holder and Mount Cellular Accessory
Should I be worried about magnets messing up my phone, or is that just an old wives tale?
I have had my HTC Droid Eris for 6 months now and am pretty pleased with it. I have an Apple computer and had downloaded an app to sync photos and music from my Eris to my Mac. It worked great! However. After I got the 2.1 update on my phone, my Mac and Eris cannot sync!!! I plug my Eris into my Mac, and it usually pops up on the phone with an option to Mount the SD card. However, now it merely shows the charging symbol over the battery icon and never gives me the option to mount! I can turn on debugging mode and when I plug in my phone to my Mac, it pops up with the debugging icon, so it recognizes it, but for some weird reason it won't mount!
View 18 Replies View RelatedThis just started today, after having worked flawlessly up to this point. When i connect the Eris to my laptop via the USB. Select ' Mount as Disk Drive'. I receive an error from windows saying 'USB Device Not Recognized'. It lists it as an unknown device and will not mount the SD card. Ive tried restarting both the phone and computer to no availer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI never connect my eris to the computer. However, I cannot save images from the backgrounds app because it says "Could not save the image. Please make sure SD card is inserted and mounted." I'm positive my SD card is mounted, so how can I fix this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Win XP Home Edition and HTC Eris (which I love). However, I seem to have lost the ability to mount / unmount the Eris as a USB drive a few days ago. I have transferred files from/to my sd card successfully, However I can no longer do so. Regardless of whether I have USB debugging set or not, I never see the "Mount USB" Notification any longer. It just "disappeared". How can I get it back?

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed Android 2.1 on my Eris, I have been scouring the internet for a car mount for it that isn't an ugly, bulky, universal mount. The Moto-Droid and iPhone both have their own unique mounts all over the place... so my question is, is there one for the HTC Eris?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was installing sdk and htc sync and went to run 'adb shell' to make sure everything was set up right. When it said "device not found" I tried to sync it only to find out that now I have no options to sync or mount. When plugged in by usb I get nothing in the notification bar at all. It will charge but now I can't even mount my phone
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was finally able to come up with secure way to mount my Eris to my Road bike, although I believe it is secure enough to work on a mountain bike to but I will have to try that later. I had been looking for a while to find a way to attach my Eris to my bike without the use of bulky devices like the universal one from the bike store. I finally saw the Shell / Holster Combo at Verizon and decided to give it a try.
I purchased the Combo from Verizon for $23. Here is a link to the Combo. I have attached pictures. This Combo seems very durable so I think it is a good fit for this job. It says the phone is supposed to be faced in, but the holster doesn't appear to be causing any problems with the phone its just a snug fit. Which is what I want anyway..................
When I insert the USB cable, I can go to notifications and mount the SD card so I can transfer files to and from my PC. This all works fine. Lets say I am all done with the connection to my PC so I want to disconnect the USB cable. I go to notifications and select "turn off USB storage". I get the message that I need to "unmount the host". So I go to settings and unmount the SD card, go back to notifications and turn off usb storage. Done, all this works fine too. Later in the day, I want to browse some videos and picture that are located on my SD card. I get the message "SD card unmounted". No problem, I will just go to setting and mount it? However, not mount option exists in settings. The only way I can mount the SD card after it has been unmounted, is to insert a USB cable, go to notifications and select mount, or to power off my phone and then power it back on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I'm pretty new to rooting. On some themes or roms they require me to Mount System and Mount Data. I have clockwork recovery installed and when I select the option Mount System, it just acts like i didn't select anything. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSearched for a solution to this, but was unsuccessful.I got the OTA on Saturday and noticed that I had a program called "Navigator" and a program called "Navigation".Navigation had a blue arrow icon. Yesterday I had to do a factory reset and now I am unable to find the "Navigation" shortcut.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone noticed how HOT their phone gets when using the Navigation option on Android 2.1 ? The navi app must be a CPU hog or maybe they've increased the power on the GPS module (isn't it an all-in-one chipset though ?). Try it for even a 1/2 hour and I think you'll be surprised at the temperature.
View 7 Replies View RelatedNo OTA. No Google navigation but I still love my Eris!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for a clear answer to this, and while a number of people have posted about it, I still am not 100% sure of the answer. I am going on a trip to England in a couple of weeks; I am not planning on using my phone to make calls or send texts while I am there, so I am not looking into any kind of international data plan (I'm not even sure if this exists for Eris). However, I will be driving around quite a bit, and it would be really nice if there was any way to use the GPS navigation. From other posts it seems like this may not be possible, but I'm not sure. I had thought that since GPS uses a satellite signal rather than the cell network, I could put the phone into airplane mode, then just enable satellite reception and I would be all set. Perhaps this doesn't work because the data connection is needed to load the maps ... ? Anyway, if someone could explain to me the ins, outs and possibilities of using GPS in other countries
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes the Eris have a car mode for navigation like the droid does? I would buy a dock I think if I knew how it work first. The stood has an app called DockRunner. Is there a similar app for the Eris?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there are any good navigation apps for the HTC Droid Eris that have turn by turn directions. Thanks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday i was driving and using the navigation (not google maps, the actual turn by turn navigation) and i received a call but the screen just went black and i couldnt answer or decline it. So i tried to call the person back and it would not dial. Also tried it later on in the day to make sure it wasnt a signal problem but no such luck. I cannot receive or make calls while using turn by turn navi. Anybody else have this problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMaps vs. Navigator vs. Navigation. didn't find anything that compared the 3 stock options that the 2.1 OTA gave us. So far I have been using Navigation (the blue arrow icon) and i think it works extremely well, it give voice directions while the program runs in the background and your phone is "sleeping" so thats a big plus for me. I didn't see a voice option on Maps, or Navigator but i may be missing something. Navigator looks cool, but doesnt seem to have any bells and whistles that I need. My wife uses Maps and she is happy with what it does. What are your experiences with these 3 options?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it's because of the leaked 2.1 but I can't get the Street View for Google Navigation to come up on Eris.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been doing a lot of research lately, on this forum as well as others and I read somewhere that someone was able to port google maps navigation to there eris. I can't remember if it was this site or somewhere else. Can anyone confirm this? I also read that the people over at xda-developers were able to get it working on the G1 which I believe is running either android 1.5 or 1.6.
Here is the link:
Google Maps Navigation Ported to T-Mobile G1 | Android Central.
It would be great if we could get this working on our Eris, I really don't care for any of the other 2.0 features besides this.
