View 4 RepliesI am using Sygic Mobile Maps 10 on my N1 and now got if for my girlfriend's i7500. It installed fine but when I start it up and try to activate a map, the screen where it should show the device id is just empty (it shows a -). If I go to the About screen, it also doesn't show a device id. I contacted Sygic already but they don't know anything about the i7500 and Google doesn't really help either. My current guess is that it doesn't work with the internal memory card as the device id is apparently generated based on the sd card's serial number (Sygic used to distribute the software pre-installed on a sd card). So maybe the software can't recognise the serial number of the internal card and hence can't generate a device id...but that's just my guess. I just want to avoid wasting money to buy a microsd to install it on there if it turns out that the app is just not working with the i7500 for other reasons...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure this is actually allowed here, but since I usually go to StackOverflow and search for answers (and in many cases find the answers) I thought I would ask a question and then answer it myself =)
So, I have Sygic Navigation om my HTC Hero, and since I need to start that app from code (and then use the API to control it) I did some investigation on how to start it - what intent to use.
So, the question is: what Intent or Activity should I use to start the app?
I've emailed ALK, no reply so far, has anyone got a fix? It setup OK first time, I put the checkout code in the registered a copilot account and password. I then started using copliot and all was fine, until now, it won't let me past the input checkout code page.

I notice that sygic GPS navigation has some kind of I/o error. HTC Explorer A310e
Is there anyone who use the CoPilot 8 software for navigation while driving? Is it worth the money? How is the interface? Is there an alternative?

View 13 Replies View RelatedToday I confirmed my suspicions about Copilot Live - an incoming call causes navigation to stop. Upon completing the phone call, the app loads - not where it left off, but from scratch - and then calculates the route from your current position.
Is this behavior unique to my installation? Or the Motorola Droid?
I should add that NDrive also stops upon an incoming call, but does not automatically resume afterwards.
I'm starting to wonder if this is some remnant of development for some non-multitasking phone OS that I won't name.
It's great having GPS, but it is also frustrating to not to be able to use it without an internet connection. I'm looking for an application that can be used offline, or that can cache Google Maps, or something. Suggestions?

The Samsung i7500 Galaxy is, except the support from Samsung itself, a great Android smartphone with a very good (the best?) price for value. It's with 11,9mm the second slimmest Android phone after Nexus One with 11,5mm (right?) and has unlike the HTC phones a flash light and build in storage of 8GB. On most sites the Galaxy is (one of) the cheapest Android phones, I wonder if it's because Samsung is cheaper or HTC/Motorola more expensive by itself?
I personally would compare the i7500 with the HTC Hero, although in my opinion the i7500 still has a much better price for value.
Is it even possible to define if and which Android phone is a low, middle, or high-end smartphone?
Sure, it also depends for what purposes you bought and use your phone, but I still wonder were the i7500 would be if 1=low and 10=high end Android phone, and if there even is a number 10? I also think that the D-Pad is a big plus and not a minus in comparison to the scroll ball from HTC.
Anyone notice compared to other screens the saoled display makes whites look kind of bluish?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSorry if this thread seems inconsequential but I have been rendering myselves sleepless nights over the past couple of days ( and nights ) due to my inability to choose between the above two said android phones. I like the i5700 for its zippy 800 MHz processor and that its got the 2.1 update. I like the i7500 for its 5 MP camera and flash + a larger screen to play with I would have gone in for the i7500 but have been hearing about Samsung deciding against not updating it to version 2.1 which can off course be done taking the un-official channel. Moreover the 528 Mhz processor is certainly lagging.
But still I see people in here Going after the i7500 .... Adding to it there is more threads and discussions going around on the i7500 as compared to the i5700. Am I missing something in the i7500 or is it just that i am a stupid newbie ... I have gone through many many pages of information on this thread before posting this query.
After update 2.1 i there is no sound on navigation in Sygic mobile maps - the new google maps nav navigates fine with sound?? Anybody has same problem?Or know a fix for this , seems quite strange to me...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 tablets, both rooted. Flytouch 5 (Tab-1) and Ainol Novo Elf-2 (Tab-2). Tab-1 has built-in GPS while Tab-2 doesn't have it. But sadly wifi/ethernet on Tab-1 isn't working since I resetted the device for the first time.
I have titanium backup installed in both tabs and I have sygic maps installed in tab-2 (which doesn't have GPS) but I can't download maps to tab-1 because it requires internet connection that I dont have on that tab. Now what I want to do is to make a complete backup of the sygic application + map data/additional files from tab-2 and restore it to tab-1 so that the app doesn't ask me to download even a single byte of data.
I tried normal titanium backup but I was asked to download additional data on Tab-1. I know I must've done something wrong because I'm new to titanium backup.
I want to add POI in google maps which can be also viewed in sygic or other GPS apps. How can i? I have tried earlier but not working properly Even i want it to be shown in Facebook checkin when i search for nearby location.

Pls look at this pix, and tell me what can be wrong with this keyboard.
In my settings these are the steps:
Settings>Locale & text >Samsung keyboard, that's all I have, no other Keyboard available, am I missing something or what?
