HTC Droid Eris :: Disabling Flickr Notifications?

I picked up an Eris this weekend and I'm loving it! This is my first "smartphone" so I'm pretty pumped! I recently setup a link to my Flickr account and keep getting notifications everytime one of my contacts posts something to their account (can get overwhelming quickly). I tried looking for a way in-phone and on Flickr to disable the notifications but haven't found a solution so far. Anyone have an idea on how to disable/modify Flickr notifications?

On 1.5 I used to get notifications all the time when someone uploaded new photos to flicker or changed their facebook account. Now I'm using the 2.1 leak v2 and I don't get any updates at all. What gives? I liked that feature. Any way to turn it back on?
And I do have the option set to update every 2 hours in the settings.

What's the deal with the Flickr integration?I thought I would transition over from Photobucket because it looked like it might make it easier to access and share photos.So I find out that I need a YahooID to sign up for Flickr.Why not something with Google (Picasa)?

I am new to developing apps for android. But I am developing one now. As a part of the app I need to disable some SMS notifications. That is, when the app is running and I receive an SMS it shouldn't be displayed to the user. I need my app to intercept it before it goes to the inbox and handle accordingly. Please tell me how I have to proceed along these lines.
If I cannot intercept an SMS, is there a way to hide the notifications and notify only certain messages after reading their contents.

I have been doing some reading about power conservation on the Eris, to extend battery time. Several people have mentioned dumping the standard SMS app and going with 3rd party. I decided to download ChompSMS and Handcent to try out. So far, I think I like Handcent the most, but everytime I get a message, all three apps fire off a notification.I have uninstalled ChompSMS, but I still get both the Eris app and Handcent notifications. What is the best was to disable the Eris app? I tried killing everything with ATM, but it just comes back whenever a message comes in.

I got Missed Call app because I liked the idea of different LED notification colors, plus some other stuff. However, when you start program it says to disable droid sms notifications (I think they mean just sms anyways), but I couldn't find that in settings. Also, not crazy about the icon it gives you in notification area, as one other poster pointed out, but I didn't know if that was partially due to having already gotten one notification from standard sms app, it's like a weird white sms icon, with a red exclamation mark, which always make me think it's some emergent notification, when it's just a standard sms. Also- LED was working at one point, but now I just get standard green, I assume this is because notifications is still enabled in Droid settings. So:
1) Is that the icon you always get, in notification area, for this app?
2) How do I disable sms notifications, or is it all notifications, and does Missed Call replace everything?
3) How's this app working for you, do you like it, is it working well?

Anyone have any tips on disabling 3g without going into airplane mode in the form of a widget, without running Sense. I'm using Helix Launcher, and sure I can use anycut but I was looking for something that just requires one tap....running 2.1v2

I d/l the Shapewriter Keyboard so I can swipe while texting, but I need to disable the Android keyboard for it to work. The problem is that I can't find where to disable it.
I am using Android 1.5 and I read on a post that I need to go through Settings/Locale & Text and there should be an option to disable the Android Keyboard, but there isn't. Even after I install the Shapewriter Keyboard the only keyboard showing is the default.

Is there a way to disable the start up sound on the Eris? Also, it recognizes my WiFi network. I type in the password, it obtains the address, and then it says unsuccessful.

I really like better keyboard pro except for one thing: when i type the phrase/word "lol" it always suggests "LOL" (all caps) and auto types it when i press space (auto-correct feature) the only problem is i almost never capitalize this word, any way to get it to stop doing this without disabling auto-correct?

So iv downloaded some pictures from Dolphin Browser using Google Images. Now every time the browser launches, I get notifications that my image downloads are complete. Is there any way to get rid of them? I hit "Clear Notifications" but that's only temporary. Its not that big of an issue but it's kinda bother some and it makes my top bar look really cluttered.

Is it possible or is there an app that will allow me to use different sounds for different notifications? I have 4 different email accounts tied to my phone plus texting. Is it possible to have one tone for Yahoo a different one for GMail another for text messages ect.....? Right now the phone only has one tone for all notifications. Once again, sorry if this has been asked numerous times I'm just looking for a quick answer.

One thing I liked about the Moto Droid was that long 'droid' notification sound. I assume it's a moto thing. But has anyone tried to get that on their Eris? Is that even possible - to use your own sounds for notifications? If so, I wonder what the best way would be to get that sound on the Eris, and keep the fidelity.

Droid Eris w/ "Verizon" Visual Voice Mail installed. Phone will show I have a missed call but does not give me any kind of notification that I have a new message.The other day I just happen to check my voicemail and found 4 new messages!

I used to get notifications just fine for received emails in my Mail app (which I use for gmail). I didn't change any settings, but now it no longer notifies me when I get a new email unless I actually go into the app so it downloads. I'm totally perplexed!

Just purchased a slightly used Eris and I'm liking it so far. I've been reading this forum and learned a ton of valuable info. I think the biggest annoyance for me right now is the lack of a repeating reminder when calls/texts are received. I've seen a few threads regarding this. I have downloaded Missed Call For Android 2.x and also turned on the LED(trackball) flashing notification. Both work initially, but only for about 5-10 minutes and then they will stop flashing. It seems like the Missed Call flashing LED stops working before the trackball stops.

Is there a way to make my Notifications and Ring tones only come through my earphone when I have them plugged in? I was listening to music, and did not like the fact that when I had a notification, or someone called the phone's speaker would sound along with my earphones. Would like to make it so that the sound only comes through the earphones, but I did not find anything in the settings menu.

I know this is not a ne issue, but I have read thru all previous threads and don't see a solution, is there one? Not always getting VM notifications until I power down the phone then power up got aggravated this morining when I turned on phone and had an important voicemail from TWO days ago.Tried leaving myself vm's from land line, got notification both time, but its hit or miss.any help? I have "applied" for Google Voice invite,,,waiting.what about 3rd party VM apps?

Installed Launcher Pro and love it.Extremely fast on my phone.The only problem I am having is that I do not get e-mail notifications for Yahoo or Hotmail.Handcent notifications work fine.As soon as I switch back to Sense, the notifications show up.Any ideas why this happens in Launcher Pro.I want to use it, but if I cant get e-mail notifications it is a no deal.

I am getting 2 notifications for each new gmail I receive. One notification is the @ symbol and the other is the gmail notifier which I have installed. In the gmail notifier I have it set to use the gmail notifier icon (not Android 1.5/2.0 icons). My gmail account is not setup in the default mail client Why am I getting 2x notifications for new emails?

Is there a way to turn off the weather notifications in this app? We have been having a crappy snowstorm all day, and I keep getting the notification no matter how many times I clear it. It just keeps coming back every few minutes or so. And every time it comes back, it makes a notification sound and stays in my notification bar up top... also, it happens to be my text message sound, so it's driving me crazy.The only option in the settings is for Units of Measure.Oh and also annoying, the notification doesn't go away when you click on it to check it, like with messages or e-mails. You have to actually go back to your notifications bar and click Clear Notifications.

I am so confused on notifications. This is what I see happening by default.
SMS/MMS - Trackball
Exchange Email - Trackball
Gmail - Green LED
Google Talk - Green LED
Missed Call - Green LED
In my Settings --> Sound & Display --> Notifications --> Notification flash ... everything is checked for Trackball.
I'm curious is to how this is working for everyone else. I wish the trackball would only light up for SMS/MMS.

I've Had my Eris for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it but, my notifications just stopped sounding. I've seen this brought up in different forums but I have yet to see any answers. I'm wondering If anyone is currently or has recently had this same problem if so how did you fix it? Or is it still going on.
Also I've made sure that I do have notifications set to sound, they just don't, it just vibrates. I've even thought that I wasn't giving the phone enough time to sound but after seeing the trackball light up i let it sit to see if it will eventually sound and it never does.
